Before we get into Wix Studio vs. Webflow, it’s important to understand what each platform brings to the table—both in terms of vision and capabilities.

Wix Studio

Wix Studio is built for agencies, enterprises and freelancers who want powerful website building tools, without compromising on creativity. As one of the best website builders for designers, it combines out-of-the-box business solutions with advanced capabilities, so you can create fully customized sites that scale with your clients’ needs.

As Roy Wax, PMM at Wix Studio, puts it, “What makes Wix Studio different isn’t just its strong set of features, it’s the way it brings everything together. Design freedom, seamless collaboration and built-in business tools, all working in sync so web creators can do more, and do it better.”

And because it’s part of the Wix ecosystem, Wix Studio runs on threat-tested infrastructure that includes enterprise-grade security, automatic updates, built in SEO tools and more—right out of the box.

Webflow

Webflow describes itself as a website experience platform that lets marketers, designers and developers come together to build, manage and optimize web experiences. Often praised for the freedom and flexibility it offers, Webflow’s customization tools appeal to professionals looking for deep control over their projects.

Both platforms bring a lot to the table. From here, we’ll break it down even further so you can confidently make your pick.

Wix Studio vs. Webflow: a feature-by-feature comparison

Finding the right platform for your web design projects is about more than just features—it’s about how those features align with your workflow, your team’s needs and your long-term business goals.

In this section, we dive deep into the core features of Wix Studio and Webflow and compare how each platform performs in these critical areas.

Let’s explore the key differences between Wix Studio and Webflow:

01. Infrastructure

wix studio infrastructure focused on security, scalability, compatibility and performance

When choosing a website builder, it’s easy to get caught up in flashy features. But the true foundation of any platform lies in its infrastructure. Without solid security, reliability and performance, all the creative tools in the world won’t be enough to protect your work, or your clients’ data.

Wix Studio provides a fully managed free website hosting solution, eliminating the need for external providers. Built on Google Cloud, AWS and Fastly, it ensures high-speed website performance and global CDN coverage for fast content delivery. Domain management is included, allowing you to easily register and manage your domain name without extra setup.

For security, Wix Studio benefits from being part of the wider Wix platform which is tasked with protecting the sites and data of over 282 million users—from sole traders to large enterprises—so it keeps high website security standards in place.

That means Wix Studio has security experts who optimize and monitor the platform to prevent, detect and respond to potential vulnerabilities and cyber-attacks as they arise. The platform provides 24/7site security monitoring, complies with the highest security standards and uses HTTPS and automatic SSL so your clients’ site data is protected at all times.

Other notable Wix Studio features focused on security include built-in DDoS protection, a robust payments system that protects against fraudulent transactions and site backup for rapid data recoveries. For site reliability, the platform is engineered for industry-leading resilience and limitless scalability, boasting an impressive uptime rate of 99.99%.

Webflow offers what it describes as reliable, scalable, fast and secure hosting. Powered by AWS’s infrastructure and Cloudfare’s global CDN, it covers select enterprise customers with a 99.99% uptime SLA. Like Wix Studio, you can register and manage your domain directly—without hassle. Webflow also uses HTTPS by default, ensuring secure data transmission for all hosted sites.

Webflow has comprehensive security built into its platform to serve over 3.5 million users such as SSL certificates, automatic backups, DDoS protection and 24/7 security monitoring.

Bottom line: Both Wix Studio and Webflow prioritize exceptional security and reliability, so you can feel confident that your client sites are in safe hands. That said, Wix Studio slightly edges ahead by meeting additional international privacy and data protection standards, including ISO 27001 compliance.

02. Design and creative control

The editor is where the real work happens. It’s where you’ll spend the bulk of your time building client sites—so it needs to feel intuitive, efficient and powerful.

Wix Studio Design is built to make you feel right at home. The clean, responsive editor helps you work smarter, not harder, supporting complex design projects without a steep learning curve. You can build fully responsive sites across all breakpoints without writing a single line of code or knowing CSS.

At its core is the drag-and-drop editor, now enhanced with advanced tools like grids, flexbox and adaptive positioning for greater layout control. Add animations, effects and WebGL-powered visuals to create dynamic, on-brand sites with ease. Want to work from your existing designs? The Figma to Studio plugin lets you import layouts directly.

For more control, use custom CSS or incorporate vector-based animations with built-in Lottie widgets or Rive integration.

You also get two modes: full and content. Content mode simplifies client handoff, giving clients access only to editable content like text and images—no risk of breaking layouts.

Webflow’s Designer brings HTML, CSS and JavaScript into a visual canvas. While not fully drag-and-drop, it uses a box model for granular control. You get a pixel-accurate canvas, hover previews and deep styling options—but it comes with a learning curve. To help, Webflow offers an eight-step onboarding guide with tutorials.

Like Wix Studio, Webflow supports Lottie and Rive. It also has a separate content editor for clients, but this will be deprecated and replaced with a new “edit mode” by the end of 2025.

Bottom line: Both Wix Studio and Webflow offer powerful editors packed with advanced design features for building standout client sites. But Wix Studio stands out for its smoother drag-and-drop experience, built for faster workflows and ease of use—especially if you’re new to web design. Webflow offers deep control for those who know CSS, but it takes more time to learn. Whether you’re working from Wix Studio examples or experimenting with the color of the year 2025, Studio’s creative tools help you go from idea to launch without getting stuck in the weeds—so you can focus on bringing bold ideas to life.

03. Templates

wix studio free templates

For agencies and freelancers, pre-designed website templates aren’t just time-savers—they’re creative springboards. They help speed up production while offering fresh starting points for client projects.

Wix Studio delivers here, with 375+ professionally designed, fully customizable and responsive templates and wireframes across a variety of industries.

On the Studio templates page, you can search by type, industry feature and style, helping you find an ideal starting point for your next project fast. There’s also an inspirational section where you can get useful templates for clients who like to push your creative boundaries that bit further.

While Wix Studio's templates team continues to expand its collection, you can always jump into the Wix Editor to access 900+ more designs or get an alternative head start with the range of static and interactive presets available in the Wix Studio Editor.

“With Wix Studio templates, you’re never staring at a blank page. We’re here to give web creators a solid starting point, so whether you’ve got a full brief or just a rough idea, you can jump in and start designing without overthinking that first move.” - Marina Tamir, tech SEO lead at Wix Studio

Templates are also a strong suit for Webflow. Users can choose from over 6,000 customizable business, portfolio and blog templates, covering everything from furniture stores to SaaS companies. But unlike Wix Studio, only around 87 of Webflow’s templates are available for free.

Webflow's templates page is also easily navigable, thanks to its search capability, and even includes a featured section showcasing a monthly selection of curated templates.

For those more interested in creating their own templates and adding a new revenue stream, you can design and sell templates with both Wix Studio and Webflow. Studio creators can keep 100% of the profits they earn through mid-2025, while Webflow allows creators to earn 80% of their total template sales.

Bottom line: When it comes to templates, both Wix Studio and Webflow have strong template libraries that cover a wide range of use cases. But Wix Studio stands out by offering more templates for free, giving creators a larger share of revenue and topping into the broader Wix ecosystem, which includes hundreds of additional designs to choose from.

04. Ecommerce

ecommerce store on wix studio

If you’re building websites for online stores, booking-based websites or niche services, having flexible eCommerce tools built right into your platform can be a major time-saver. And when those tools are tailored to specific industries, it’s even better.

With Wix Studio eCommerce, you have all angles covered for your eCommerce clients. You can customize the look and layout of product and category pages and use SPIs to tailor the cart and checkout experience to fit your clients’ needs. In addition, one of Wix Studio’s unique benefits is the ability of multi-vertical cart options, meaning site visitors can add both book a service and buy products and add them to one shopping cart, making their shopping experience smoother.

Online payment processing is easy, too. If you're located in the U.S. or Canada, you can set up Wix’s POS system so clients can accept and keep track of payments more easily. You can also target mobile-first customers with a customizable branded mobile app, integrate with 100+ global payment providers and take major debit and credit cards, Apple Pay and Tap to Pay on iPhone.

Webflow offers eCommerce as a native tool, giving you access to features like customizable carts, checkout and delivery options, mobile store management and POS integration. However, when it comes to more industry-specific needs, like offering multi-vertical carts for businesses that need to sell both physical products and book services (like restaurants, hotels or other booking-based businesses), you’ll find yourself relying on third-party integrations to fully tailor the experience for different types of clients.

While Webflow’s eCommerce solution provides powerful functionality, you’ll need to combine external tools to truly customize your solution for different industries.

Bottom line: If you’re building sites for clients who sell, book or offer services online, Wix Studio delivers a more flexible and ready-to-use eCommerce solution out of the box. From multi-vertical cart options to built-in POS and mobile app capabilities, it’s designed to meet diverse business needs without relying on extra workarounds. Webflow offers solid eCommerce features, too, but Wix Studio gives you more tools to work smarter, and deliver faster.

05. Business solutions

wix studio business solutions

When you’re building sites for clients, you’re not just delivering a design—you’re helping power their business. That’s where built-in business solutions can make a big impact. Instead of stitching together tools or relying on third-party platforms, you want a web creation platform that comes ready with everything from client billing and project management to analytics, automations and customer engagement.

Let’s take a closer look at how Wix Studio and Webflow compare when it comes to handling the business side of web creation.

Wix Studio business solutions come equipped with built-in features for bookings, events, hotels and restaurants—giving you the flexibility to serve clients across a wide range of industries. Tools like the new Functions Builder make it easy to add advanced business functionality to any client site without relying on third-party platforms. From the start, you’re set up to meet your client’s business needs and deliver a complete, scalable solution.

But it doesn’t stop at serving the most common business verticals—it's helping agencies get even more targeted. It recently launched Wix Donations, which lets you set up multiple fundraising campaigns on sites for your charity-focused clients and start collecting donations in minutes—all without the complexity and cost of a third-party platform.

While Webflow doesn’t come with the same out of the box business tools you’ll find in Wix Studio, it does give you flexibility through third-party apps, APIs and custom integrations. You can build online stores, booking-based sites and content-rich experiences using native tools like Webflow eCommerce.

For advanced business functionality, you’ll typically rely on platforms like Zapier or other third-party plugins, but this can add more complexity (and costs) to your build. That said, if you have specific business needs and the dev skills to match, Webflow’s deep customization options can still help you get there—with a bit more setup on your end.

Bottom line: When it comes to business solutions, Wix Studio gives you more built-in options. You get built-in tools tailored to industries like restaurants, hotels and charities—no extra integrations needed. Webflow offers flexibility, but you’ll need third-party tools to match the same functionality. If you want to move faster and do more with less setup, Wix Studio is your best bet.

Ready to take your skills to the next level? The Wix Studio certification is your gateway to unlocking new opportunities, boosting expertise and enhancing your credibility as a professional.

06. AI tools

wix studio ai features

No comparison of today’s top platforms is complete without a look at their AI-powered features. As the role of AI grows in the web creation world, it’s worth asking: how do these platforms measure when it comes to building smarter, faster and more creatively?

Let’s break down how Wix Studio vs. Webflow approach AI—and what that means for anyone looking for an AI website builder that can boost efficiency without sacrificing control.

Wix AI has been around since 2016, long before artificial intelligence became a regular topic in our daily conversations. Back then, Wix introduced Artifical Design Intelligence (ADI)—a powerful tool that could suggest a website layout based on a few simple prompts.

Fast forward to 2023, and Wix Studio AI launched with an expanded set of AI-powered tools, putting efficiency at the core of web creation. One standout feature is responsive AI, which allows you to adjust sections to fit all screen sizes with just a click. This means you can skip the hassle of jumping between breakpoints to make manual sizing adjustments.

Then there’s the AI text creator, which combines the power of AI with Wix Studio’s deep understanding of web creation. It helps you quickly generate high-quality copy for different sections of your client sites. Need visuals? The AI image creator lets you generate images by simply describing what you need. And if you're working with video, the auto-generated trailer tool impressively transforms video files into polished, professional trailers in minutes.

Wix Studio’s native AI tools go beyond text and images. They help you create meta tags and Google Ads copy as part of your SEO strategy, build CMS collections and even generate code with the AI code assistant. All these features are designed to help agencies and freelancers create at scale. Also, the new AI site chat acts as a virtual guide, helping site visitors from the moment they land on a website to when they make a purchase.

Finally, one of the exciting new AI tools is the virtual sitemap and wireframe generator. This powerful tool speeds up the site planning and creation process. Just enter key project details—like business type, site description, goals, target audience and tone of voice—and let AI generate a customized sitemap and wireframe tailored to your client's needs.

Webflow describes itself as “bullish on the extraordinary potential in the marriage between AI-assisted generation and visual development.” Its AI Learning Assistant is available in the Designer’s Add panel where you can type a question and the Assistant will run the query into its Knowledge Base. Used primarily as a search engine, the Learning Assistant enables users to find answers conveniently without leaving the editor.

Webflow’s new AI Site builder goes further and helps users to go from zero to website faster. Still in its beta stage, the tool generates a series of website themes tailored for you based on a few details about your client project.

Despite Webflow not offering as many AI tools as Wix Studio, the company made a strong statement of intent in 2024 with its acquisition of Intellimize, a startup that leverages AI to personalize websites for unique visitors. Webflow says the move will give users greater AI-powered personalization, AI-driven copy suggestions and actionable insights based on data.

Webflow has also announced details of its new AI copilot product which is still in the works. Using the tool directly in the Designer, you’ll be able to generate, alter or summarize static and CMS content with simple prompts and quickly translate content into different languages. The company has also extended its AI capabilities with the release of new tools that auto-generate styled sections and content and run A/B tests.

Bottom line: Wix has been leading the charge with AI for several years, and the results speak for themselves. It’ll be interesting to see what Webflow brings to the table in the months ahead, but for now, Wix Studio offers more out-of-box AI capabilities.

"Designing websites in 2025 is an exciting evolution powered by AI. From tools that streamline the design process to real-time personalization that adapts to user preferences, websites will feel more tailored than ever. Interactive experiences with AR, 3D visuals and animations will enhance engagement, while a focus on sustainability will drive faster, leaner and more energy-efficient sites—benefiting both users and the planet." - Ella Joel, web designer at Wix

07. CMS

wix studio powerful cms homepage

Both Wix Studio and Webflow go beyond just being website builders—they’re powerful tools for web professionals who specialize in creating complex client sites. A big part of that is their robust, built-in content management systems (CMSs), designed to help you manage dynamic content with ease and efficiency.

Wix Studio CMS makes it easy to manage content-heavy sites, giving you a flexible way to store, organize and display dynamic content—no code needed. Its advanced design capabilities make it easy to integrate content seamlessly into your designs, streamlining the creation process.

Built for seamless teamwork, Wix Studio’s permissions system gives you control over how clients, teammates and collaborators interact with site content. You can also use database collections to create dynamic pages and repeating elements fast—perfect for scaling layouts across blog posts, product pages, team bios and more.

The extensibility of Wix Studio's CMS sets it apart. With Data APIs, you can extend its capabilities with code, control filters and sorting, query items, intercept interactions using hooks and aggregate data from collections—perfect for those who need advanced customization in website development. Also, the CMS can operate as a headless solution, giving you the flexibility from any app or website you build.

To top it off, Wix Studio CMS was recognized for its accessibility, being named the most accessible CMS platform in the Web Almanac’s 2024 annual report.

Wix Studio also offers powerful features like reusable assets, templates, site style and themes, helping you maintain a uniform style across projects while speeding up workflows.

Like Wix Studio, Webflow’s CMS is aimed at “everyone who has a hand in crafting digital experiences.” It allows marketers, designers and developers to add, edit and update content at scale, visually in the platform or programmatically through its headless APIs or with support from its AI Assistant.

Webflow’s CMS is also equipped with tools for teams, enabling commenting, editing and collaborating directly on designs to avoid project delays and unintended changes going live. You can improve content organization and visitor navigation by dynamically linking CMS data across collections using reference fields.

Bottom line: Both Wix Studio and Webflow offer powerful CMS capabilities for building complex, content-heavy websites. But a key difference lies in how much content you can actually manage. Wix Studio stands out with significantly higher CMS item quotas across all plans—starting at 1,500 on the Basic plan and going up to 500,000 on Elite. In comparison, Webflow caps out at just 10,000–20,000 items on its business plan. Even at the mid-tier, Wix Studio’s Plus plan offers 20,000 items, making it a stronger option for scaling. Webflow, on the other hand, offers 50 items on its free plan, none on Basic, 2,000 on CMS,and tops out far sooner—falling short at every level.

08. Learning resources and support

community and customer support wix studio

A great platform doesn’t just offer powerful tools—it also helps you master them. Both Wix Studio and Webflow invest heavily in education, with dedicated learning hubs, expert communities and hands-on tutorials designed to support web creators at every stage. Whether you’re upskilling or onboarding a new team member, here’s how each platform helps you stay ahead.

Wix Studio Academy offers a range of educational content through guides, interactive resources, webinars, tutorials, sandboxes and in-person workshops designed to help you excel. With content that covers everything from layout fundamentals to advanced animations, the Studio Academy supports continuous learning at every stage of your website development journey.

The Wix Studio Essentials Course is a great place to start, giving new users a detailed view of the platform. Then, there’s Studio’s build-along videos, which enable users to recreate sections and try out Wix Studio features while they watch.

Beyond structured learning, the Wix Studio Community is where web creators come together to share feedback, ask questions and exchange real-world insights. It’s a space built for collaboration, where you can connect with other creators, designers, developers and freelancers working across all types of websites (thousands of whom are connecting and collaborating on Discord).

When it comes to support, Wix Studio offers 24/7 customer service in English through phone, chat and email (additional languages supported during set hours as well as an AI-powered chatbot). You can also track past interactions through the Customer Care ticket log in your Workspace. Those in the Partner Program enjoy priority support.

Webflow University has its own take on learning resources, with a particular focus on detailed documentation through its Help Center and online courses covering everything from the introductory Webflow 101 to advanced features like connecting to payment gateways.

Its approach to interactive learning is a little different from Studio’s, giving it a fun gamification twist, educating and entertaining on the basics of layouts, CSS grid and flexboxes through interactive games. Webflow also provides certification and badges for users to showcase their skills on their website, the Marketplace and for pitching to clients.

Webflow places a strong emphasis on its AI-powered support system to solve user issues. They also provide customer support via email, and aim to reply to all requests within 48 hours. They also offer enhanced customer service options for paid plans. There are live agents offering support; however, this channel may not be available for all queries at all times of the day.

Bottom line: Whether you’re looking to sharpen your skills or grow your network, both Wix Studio and Webflow offer valuable educational ecosystems. But Wix Studio takes it a step further—with a dedicated academy that evolves alongside the platform and a community that brings together creators of all levels, Studio comes out on top for customer resources and support.

09. SEO

wix studio seo and marketing capabilities

There was a time when web creation platforms didn’t need to give much consideration to SEO, but a lot has changed. Nowadays, SEO is a non-negotiable feature for any web creation platform—especially for agencies and freelancers building sites that need to rank and perform.

Wix has invested heavily in recent years too, ensuring every site built on its platform is backed by a strong technical SEO foundation, built to compete in organic searches and align with the latest search engine requirements.

Wix Studio SEO offers features like dynamic XML sitemaps, auto 301 redirects and an SEO checklist, along with AI-powered Wix Studio features and advanced built-in capabilities like automatic sitemap updates, optimized robots.txt files, automated structured data markup and an SEO assistant auditing tool. The platform integrates with leading applications like Semrush, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Bing, IndexNow and Wincher so you can tap into your favorite SEO tools without leaving Wix Studio.

When you start a blog with Wix Studio, you can take full advantage of these SEO tools to help your content rank higher. From keyword optimization to performance tracking, Wix Studio makes it easy to implement SEO best practices and boost your blog’s visibility right from the start.

"If you're looking to attract people to your website through search engines, blogging remains highly relevant. It's a great way to get your website content ranking and generate organic traffic, but it's also an important way to use content to build your brand's search authority on key topics." - Rebecca Tomasis, blog SEO team lead at Wix

While much of Wix Studio’s SEO focus is on efficiency and customization, it backs it up with deep industry knowledge. The Wix SEO Hub is an excellent resource for getting fresh insights from experts both within and outside Studio through:

Webflow comes with similar standard SEO features built in, including schema markup editing, sitemap control, automated meta titles and descriptions, alt tag editing and 301 redirects while offering plenty of control to optimize your client sites manually. Like Wix Studio, it hosts its sites on a globally distributed CDN infrastructure and optimizes media in the background to ensure sites achieve optimum performance.

Bottom line: Wix Studio and Webflow provide a strong foundation for SEO, but Studio goes further with more built-in, automated tools to help professionals scale organic growth. Plus, with an SEO Hub that helps web creators stay up to speed with an industry constantly in flux, Studio gives you what you need to help client sites rank—right out of the box.

10. Marketing integrations and plugins

wix studio app marketplace and plugins homepage

Let’s face it—when it comes to marketing your client’s site, the right tools can make or break your strategy. That’s where marketing integrations and plugins come in, and both Wix Studio and Webflow bring a solid set of options to the table. Whether you’re looking to connect with customers, run smooth campaigns or keep an eye on performance, both platforms have something to offer. But the way they do it? Well, that’s where the real difference lies. Let’s explore what each platform brings to the marketing game.

Wix Studio marketing integrations are designed to streamline your workflow, offering a powerful suite of tools that make it easier for marketers to connect with their audience. Along with the SEO tools mentioned above, Wix Studio lets you easily connect with major social media platforms like TikTok, Meta, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and WhatsApp, allowing you to create, schedule and post content from one place. You can also manage all your DMs and emails through a unified inbox. For eCommerce clients, you can sync your sites with popular sales channels like Amazon, eBay, Wish and Google Merchant Center and manage order fulfillment straight from your workspace.

For deep site performance insights, Wix Studio has everything you need built-in and at no additional cost. It’s integrated with key analytics tools like Google Analytics and Google Ads so you can automatically capture business events like page views, clicks, leads and purchases—without having to manually define them.

You can also extend your business solutions by choosing from over 500 apps from the Wix App Market that work seamlessly with the platform, connecting to your preferred apps by embedding HTML code snippets in sites, or creating your own custom integrations using Wix-made APIs.

Webflow’s plugins and integrations also offer a host of marketing tools, which categorizes them into integration types to help you find what you’re looking for.

It has all the usual social media integrations, along with popular email marketing applications and reporting tools. For more marketing capabilities, you can search its 280+ apps or explore those available on the Webflow Marketplace.

For analytics, Webflow offers a new native tool called Analyze, which gives users insight into how visitors interact with a website. While it’s valuable data for any professional, it comes at a cost and is only available as an add-on to paid site plans.

Bottom line: Marketers want to know they have their favorite tools at their disposal, no matter what platform they’re working on. Wix Studio and Webflow have all the important ones covered, but Studio gives you more for free. Anything outside their native solutions, Studio and Webflow’s respective marketplaces should keep marketers' content.

11. Collaboration and client management

collaboration and client management wix studio

It’s no surprise that in the age of AI, efficiency is one of the key battlegrounds in web design. But while all the talk is about artificial intelligence, those overlooking effective management tools are missing a central piece of the productivity puzzle.

Wix Studio management tools excel in streamlining operations and tackling bottlenecks with a variety of powerful tools. Take its workspace, for example—it gives you a 360-degree view of all your projects, letting you create and manage multiple sites from one central hub. You can handle all your agency’s tasks here, including managing billing and subscriptions, support tickets and reports. And with the Wix Studio mobile app, you can do it all while on the go.

Wix Studio also offers a full suite of collaboration tools, including custom roles and permissions, concurrent editing and on-canvas comments to get your team working smoothly and in sync. Multiple designers, content editors and a developer can work simultaneously, keeping projects moving forward.

On the design side, Wix Studio saves time with custom templates, widgets, reusable sections and design libraries that can be shared across teams and multiple sites. You can also enhance and accelerate your client handover process with Studio's personalized client kits, ensuring they have everything they need for a smooth and successful transition.

With Webflow, multiple teammates can edit content simultaneously while only one person designs and builds a site’s structure (unless you are using Webflow Enterprise or are an Enterprise Partner, which gives you access to ‘page branching’). To keep the design process fluid, users can also hand off design control between teammates and see in real-time where other people are working on a site.

The platform offers design efficiency with Components and Libraries, which let users create customizable blocks from elements to keep a consistent and scalable design workflow and reuse and share them across different websites.

While Webflow’s workspace offers many of the same tools as Wix Studio, it falls short when it comes to client experience features like client kits and the customer care ticket portal offered by Studio.

Bottom line: While it’s clear that both platforms recognize the importance of management tools, Wix Studio has efficiency at its core. Compared with that of its competitor, Wix Studio’s workspace feels like a much more unified place where you can manage your agency. The platform also offers a more flexible collaboration suite and users have the advantage of working on the go with the Wix Studio mobile app.

"As a designer, staying efficient and adaptable is a must. That’s why finding the best website builders for designers can be a total game-changer. Go for platforms that make collaboration easy, provide design tools that feel like an extension of your creativity, and make client handoffs smooth and hassle-free." - Tal Ashtar, graphic designer at Wix

12. Native deep functionality

native deep functionality wix studio features

As demand grows for agencies to build even more unique online experiences for clients, platforms have had to provide powerful, customizable dev tools that prioritize flexibility and control. Webflow and Wix Studio have both stepped up.

Because Wix is widely recognized as a low-code, no-code website builder, many don’t realize that Wix Studio offers a development platform that goes beyond that. It lets you customize and extend the platform by using APIs, service plugins and custom CSS capabilities to replace or enhance native business logic, features and workflows.

It has Wix Blocks, a standalone editor to build apps and develop bespoke widgets for the Wix ecosystem that you can deploy across multiple sites and sell on the Wix App Market. With Wix Headless, devs can leverage the platform’s powerful business solutions and APIs to extract data from your client’s business and seamlessly integrate it into any front end.

With Studio, you can also build on your preferred IDE through a GitHub integration or online in the VS Code-based Wix IDE to create anything your clients need, from custom functionalities to full-stack solutions. Now, whoever said Wix Studio is not for devs?

Webflow is no stranger to the dev community and attracts developers for its HTML/CSS capabilities and dev features to build custom-designed websites from scratch.

The platform’s APIs let you build on top of core features, such as the CMS, forms and eCommerce, so you can create apps that can be shared and sold in the Webflow Marketplace. It can also connect with third-party tools through its headless CMS.

Bottom line: Webflow has a thriving dev community that trusts its tools and dedicated support. Despite some misconceptions, Wix Studio is an excellent choice for developers who are drawn to the powerful built-in business solutions and CMS they can build upon and Studio’s more generous CMS items quotas. As its dev offering expands, more agencies interested in complex builds and looking for value are choosing Wix Studio.

13. Enterprise

Enterprise and large-scale solutions wix studio

To meet the needs of big businesses with multiple websites and complex needs, a web creation platform must have scalability—offering enterprise solutions like multi-site management, robust integrations and hyper efficient site creation.

Wix Studio Enterprise has them in spades. From one centralized dashboard, you can manage thousands of sites with account, group or site level tiering for CMS, analytics and performance monitoring. With shared libraries of custom site templates, widgets, apps, reusable sections and design elements, big brands can build at scale and stay consistent across every asset.

Hundreds of open APIs can connect you to the systems these businesses rely on, like DAM, ERP and CRM, while out-of-the-box integrations give you access to the most popular business software and proprietary apps. And it’s all backed up by enterprise-grade security, a dedicated success manager and 24/7 priority technical support.

Webflow also offers a tailored platform for enterprise customers focused on launching high-performing web experiences faster. Like Wix Studio, you can build at scale using your design system across multiple sites and connect with the solutions enterprise clients need through APIs, integrations and apps.

Those on Webflow’s Enterprise plan are eligible for personalized help from a dedicated account manager and on-demand customer support. They can also launch with peace of mind having enterprise-grade security features and reliable hosting infrastructure backing up their sites.

Bottom line: Both Wix Studio and Webflow have solid solutions for enterprise companies, evidenced by scalability of their platforms and the enterprise client names listed on their sites.

14. Pricing

Both Wix Studio and Webflow offer tiered pricing plans designed to meet different budgets and project needs. Whether you're just getting started or managing multiple clients, you’ll find a plan that fits.

Wix Studio’s annual pricing plans:

  • Free without a custom domain or try any plan subject to a 14-day money-back guarantee.

  • Basic ($12/month): Build online brands.

  • Standard ($20/month): Accepts online payments.

  • Plus ($32/month): Capture leads and boost sales.

  • Elite ($149/month): Scale business growth.

  • Enterprise (price available upon request): Site management for large-scale businesses.

*Pricing reflects U.S. rates

Each paid Wix Studio plan includes a free domain for one year. As you move up the tiers, you get more storage, collaborators and CMS items—with Elite and Enterprise offering unlimited resources. Starting at the Standard plan, you can accept online payments, while Plus and higher also include priority support.

You can build as many free Wix Studio sites as you want, and there's no limit on the number of pages per site. However, to access advanced features like eCommerce or custom CMS, you’ll need to upgrade to a paid plan.

Webflow’s annual pricing plans:

  • Starter (Free): Get started with Webflow (without a custom domain).

  • Basic ($14/month): Build relatively simple, static sites.

  • CMS ($23/month): Create blogs or other content-driven sites.

  • Business ($39/month): Design larger sites.

  • Enterprise (price available upon request): For an enterprise-grade solution.

*Pricing reflects U.S. rates

All paid Webflow plans include domain registration and surge protection (no overage fees if you exceed bandwidth in the first month). Plan upgrades increase CMS collections, form submissions and storage space.

However, the free plan has strict limits: just two free websites with two pages each. You’ll need to upgrade to sell products, add custom code or access the CMS.

Bottom line: Both Wix Studio and Webflow offer flexible, scalable pricing that can suit most web professionals. But if you’re looking for more value from the start—especially in terms of CMS quotas, site pages, analytics or bandwidth—Wix Studio gives you more for less. And with unlimited free websites, you can start testing ideas or client concepts right away without hitting a paywall.

How to migrate from Webflow to Wix Studio

If your site was originally built in Webflow, there’s no direct way to migrate it to Wix Studio. But switching platforms doesn’t have to mean starting from scratch. If you designed your site in Figma, you can streamline the move using the native Figma to Wix Studio plugin or an HTML-to-Figma plugin to export your designs. From there, bring your site to life with built-in business solutions, CMS, no-code animations and custom code.

You can connect a domain purchased through Webflow to your new Wix Studio site even if Webflow still hosts it. If you prefer to manage the domain registration and payments at Wix, you can transfer your domain to Wix Studio.
