Before people listen to your music, they’ll see your band’s logo. It’s key that you choose a design that communicates what your band represents and the genre of music it performs. For instance, a folk band should consider a design around nature and earthy vibes.
Play with Typography
The right font helps reflect your band’s personality and the audience you want to attract. It’s an essential part of a logo design so make sure it reflects your band’s music. If you’re a rock band, go for a font that is loud and out there, or if jazz is your groove, pick something slick and tasteful.
Pick Colors that Represent You
Colors play a major role in communicating the type of music your band plays. For example, if you're a folk band, pick earthy colors or if you’re a rock band, go for black or red. Also, when choosing colors, keep in mind what will look good on merchandise, stage and in videos.

Icons, shapes and images can make your logo and band instantly recognizable. Instead of using icons like a microphone or drum kit, find something different but still connected to your genre—like a skull or a lightning bolt for a heavy metal band.
