  • How to create a website from scratch in 10 steps (for beginners)

Turn your ideas into a website → | Claim your domain → Want to learn how to create a website from scratch? The fastest and most beginner-friendly way is to use a no-coding website builder, which gives you all the tools you need to design, customize and publish a site. Wix offers a fast and intuitive website builder to bring your vision to life in minutes. Noah Rosen, who built his international knife brand Forge to Table on Wix from a culinary school dorm room and now ships to 30+ countries, makes the case for beginners directly: "I think Wix offers the perfect medium for everyone, even someone like myself, a really good cook, but a monkey with a keyboard. I'm able to drag-and-drop edit or build an email newsletter that looks nice." If you're a first-time builder, the tools are built to flatter your effort, not punish your inexperience. Looking to create a website fast? If you're looking to create a stunning website fast without coding, there are several ways you can go about it. A free website builder like Wix is a great place to start, as you can choose from over 2,000 pre-designed and highly customizable website templates to easily build a site. Choose your website template by website type, functionality or your business industry. Wix offers a no-code website builder to get you online fast. That from scratch framing scares a lot of first-time builders out of starting at all. One Wix user who has navigated this exact challenge is Gergei Erdei, a former Gucci designer who built his own luxury homeware brand on Wix: "I'd never built a website before and I'm not a naturally digital person. My first version, built by someone I hired, was pretty bad. In fact, I hated it. Within a few months, I scrapped it and started again, this time doing it myself on Wix." If a designer trained at one of the world's most exacting fashion houses had to redo his own site once before getting it right, the same is probably true for you too. The rest of this guide is the framework that gets you there in one go. Consider using Wix Harmony, a next-generation hybrid website builder that’s transforming the way websites are built. If you're looking for the future of website building, Wix's core commerce and website building capabilities are now accessible from the AI tools people use every day. Wix's platform is future proofing for the growth of the agentic web. For example, Wix's native ChatGPT integration allows you to type "@Wix" in a conversation, to invoke its Wix Harmony vibe code website builder. How to make a website from scratch Define your website's purpose Choose your website builder Pick and register a domain name Choose a web hosting plan Pick and customize your template Build your site structure Add useful pages Create engaging content Test and launch Maintain and promote your website 01. Define your website's purpose Every great site starts with a clear website purpose. Are you selling products, sharing your expertise, building a community or showing off your work? Your goal will shape every decision, from layout to content to navigation, keeping your site focused and intentional. Know your audience Understanding your audience is just as important. Who’s visiting your site? What are they looking for? Create personas based on their demographics, interests and challenges. Gather insights through surveys, interviews or even casual chats. The better you know your visitors, the more engaging and relevant your site will be. Learn from competitors Take a peek at your competitors. Check out websites in your space and note what works, what doesn’t and where there’s room for improvement. Then, think about how your site can bring something fresh to the table. Whether it’s a product, service or unique approach, make sure your value is crystal clear. Set measurable website goals Set goals you can measure. Whether it’s traffic, engagement, sign-ups or sales, decide which metrics matter most and use them to guide your strategy. These goals will help you stay on track and see what’s working. Define your brand identity Your brand is more than a logo. It's the personality, voice, and visual style that visitors associate with you. Start by writing down 3 to 5 words that describe how you want your site to feel (e.g., trustworthy, playful, minimal, bold). Pick a primary color, one or two accent colors, and a font pairing that reinforces those words. Keep these choices consistent across every page so visitors get the same impression whether they land on your homepage or a product page. A clear brand identity makes your site feel intentional from the moment someone arrives. Types of websites to consider: Depending on your goals, here are some types of websites you might want to create: Business and eCommerce websites: Sell products, book services or share your offerings. Include clear pricing, testimonials, contact options and chat tools to help visitors take action. Blog: Share your stories, expertise or insights to build a loyal audience. Organize posts into categories, add visuals and make it easy for readers to subscribe. Creative and portfolio websites: Show your work with galleries, blogs and social links. Perfect for photographers, designers, writers and artists. Content and media: Share videos, podcasts or stories. Organized navigation and search tools make it easy for visitors to explore. Educational: Offer lessons, PDFs, videos or certifications. Use log-ins to track progress and blogs or FAQs to expand learning. Personal and lifestyle: Share your stories, events or portfolio. Add galleries, blogs and social links to make your site feel personal and inviting. Non-profit websites: For schools, nonprofits or government organizations. Add features like donations, volunteer sign-ups, livestreams or event details. Some websites juggle more than one purpose, but your main goal should always take the lead. Take Cleverchefs, for example. Their site tells their brand story while also driving bookings. The design and content reflect their values, attracting clients who connect with their vibe. Expert tip from Ian Lawson, Head of User Experience at Slickplan: “Before jumping into design, take time to understand who your audience is and how they look for information. The most successful websites are built around clear user goals—letting that insight guide everything from site structure to navigation to content hierarchy ensures visitors find what they need in as few clicks as possible.” 02. Choose your website builder Choosing the right website builder sets the foundation for your site. The right platform helps you get online quickly without worrying about technical hurdles so you can focus on building your business. Everything you need to design, personalize, publish and manage your site is in one place, making the process straightforward and manageable. One strong recommendation is to look for a builder that includes domain registration and hosting. A custom domain makes your site look professional and easier to remember, while built-in web hosting keeps your pages fast and reliable without extra setup. Templates and design tools give you flexibility to match your brand. A drag-and-drop website builder lets you position text, images and buttons exactly where you want and adjust colors, fonts and layouts for a cohesive look. This makes it easier to create a visually consistent, user-friendly website that reflects your business or project. With a no-code website builder, you can do all of this without writing a single line of code. Wix provides an intuitive drag and drop website builder. Wix provides an easy-to-use website builder with designer-made, fully customizable templates. Built-in business and marketing tools also help you reach your goals faster. From email campaigns and SEO tools to online stores, booking systems and membership options, you can manage everything in one place. For developers, agencies and businesses that need more control over the frontend experience, Wix Headless provides a flexible alternative. It allows builders to create custom website experiences while still using Wix’s built-in business capabilities. AI-powered features, including an AI website builder, can also speed up building and managing your site, helping you generate content, design pages and organize your site with less effort while keeping it unique. For first-time builders, the no background required part is the part that matters most. Tammy Maki had this realization when she launched her chocolate brand Raven Rising on Wix in her 50s during COVID, with no ecommerce experience at all: "Honestly, I looked at Amazon and I went, 'If they can have an eCommerce site that can service the world, for God's sake, why can't I?'" She now ships across Canada and won the Bell Let's Talk Start-up Award in 2020. Wix's website builder did the heavy infrastructure work, she focused on the brand. Wix's AI reach extends beyond its own editor. The Wix Claude Connector is a native integration of Wix inside Claude. Business owners using Claude can manage Wix store, bookings, content and site settings in a single session. For AI builders and developers who want even more frontend flexibility, Wix Headless is a headless solution that lets AI builders, vibe coders and agencies connect any frontend to a full native business backend including payments, bookings, events, CMS and eCommerce without building or managing infrastructure. Learn what is Wix Headless and how it helps teams create custom digital experiences while keeping their business operations connected. Wix Headless gives AI builders, vibe coders and agencies access to Wix business solutions including Stores, Bookings, Events, CMS and Payments through a single connected backend. This means teams can build unique frontend experiences while managing essential business functions from one centralized system. Worth knowing: AI-powered site generators get you to roughly the 80% mark of a finished site quickly. The remaining 20%, where your brand personality lives, is where you'll want to spend time editing manually. Plan for both phases when you map out how long your build will take. Before picking a website builder, compare features, ease of use, pricing and integrations. Make sure it fits your workflow and goals so you can spend your time creating, not troubleshooting. The right choice gives you a smooth experience and a website that grows with you. Expert tip from Rebecca Tomasis, Head of Organic Growth Marketing at Wix: “A website builder should remove operational friction, not add to it. Wix lets you customize and launch a professional website in minutes. Wix simplifies the process so you can focus on what matters most, bringing your ideas to life. Start today and create the website you’ve always wanted. 03. Pick and register a domain name Choosing your domain name is one of the most exciting steps in building your website. Your domain is your web address, the URL visitors type to find your site. Behind the scenes, the Domain Name System (DNS) translates that name into your site’s IP address so your website loads instantly for anyone who visits. A strong domain name is unique, memorable and easy to spell. It should reflect your brand, tell your story and resonate with your audience. Avoid long or complicated names, numbers or special characters. Use Wix’s domain name generator for creative ideas and to quickly check availability. Next, claim your domain through a registrar. Domains must be officially registered to exist online, usually for a year or more. Domain pricing covers DNS infrastructure and services. Many website builders, including Wix, include a free domain with paid plans, giving you a polished professional web address like yourbusiness.com. Think about the right domain extension for your website, such as .com, .co, .store, .info or .digital. Choose one that fits your brand and audience. A custom domain builds trust, improves credibility and can help your site rank better in search engines. To register a domain on Wix: Brainstorm 5–10 short, memorable names that are easy to spell Check availability using Wix’s domain name search Choose a domain extension that fits your brand, like .com, .net or .org; Wix has over 400 different domain extensions to choose from Register your domain for at least one year or claim a free domain with a Wix paid plan Connect the domain to your website through your Wix dashboard and update DNS settings Ready to get a website domain name? Get started with Wix today. 04. Choose a web hosting plan Web hosting stores your site’s files, images and content on a server so visitors can access your site online. Every time someone enters your URL, the server delivers your site instantly. The simplest way to get started is to use a website builder with built-in hosting. Wix includes free secure hosting with every site, so you don’t need to compare separate hosting plans or manage extra settings. This lets you focus entirely on building your website. When evaluating hosting, consider uptime, security, speed and reliability. Wix’s multi-cloud hosting and global CDN deliver your site content quickly and seamlessly to visitors around the world, keeping your site accessible without interruptions. Hosting options at a glance Hosting type Best for Key benefits Shared hosting Beginners, small websites Affordable, easy setup VPS hosting Growing businesses More resources, better performance Cloud hosting High traffic sites Scalable, handles traffic spikes Dedicated hosting Large enterprises Full control, maximum speed and security Expert tip from Keren Friedlander, Product Manager at Wix: What often gets forgotten when talking about choosing a website builder is the capabilities of the infrastructure that's promised to you: the reliability of the hosting, the level of security in place to protect your visitors' data and, of course, your site's speed. Even if infrastructure is not the first thought that comes to mind when creating a website, if it's not robust enough, it can cause major headaches for website owners when trying to scale a website later on. — Keren Friedlander, Product Manager at Wix 05. Pick and customize your template Your website’s visual layout is one of the most important factors in how visitors perceive your business. Half of consumers say design heavily influences their opinion of a company, so take the time to explore your options before committing to a style. To get started, take a look at professional website templates to see which one fits your vision best. Templates give you a good design foundation, but you have full control to make it your own. You can adjust layouts, section order, spacing, fonts, colors, buttons, images, galleries, headers, footers, menus, backgrounds and even animations. Every element can be customized so your site reflects your brand and feels consistent from top to bottom. Next, gather inspiration for your website. Check competitor websites to see what works in your industry and explore visual platforms like Pinterest and Instagram to discover popular fonts, colors and design styles. Focus on understanding trends rather than copying them, and make sure your choices align with your audience’s preferences. Mackenzie Precht, who built Kindling Home (a North Carolina vacation rental brand) from scratch on Wix with her partner, gives beginners permission to start by borrowing: "Even very profound artists copy other people's art first, so that they can then design their own style." Her Wix site now drives 60% of bookings directly, nearly double the 34% industry average for direct vacation rental bookings according to a 2025 Lodgify survey. The starting-point-by-imitation approach is not a shortcut, it's the standard. Your template is a flexible website design tool you can shape to fit your brand. Adjust layouts, colors, fonts and images to create the tone that feels right. Branded design shows confidence and helps visitors connect with your business. Every detail matters, from page speed to visual hierarchy, to make sure your site stands out and feels trustworthy. Worth knowing: Wix's template library is large but treat any template as a starting point rather than a finished design. Sites that spend time customizing fonts, colors and section layouts to match the brand consistently end up performing better than those that go live with minimal changes. If designing a website from scratch feels overwhelming, an AI website builder can simplify the process. With Wix, you can prompt Wix Harmony and the AI website builder will generate a fully functional, custom website in minutes. From there, you can fine-tune the design, add your own content and adjust pages and widgets to fit your vision. Action steps: Browse website templates that fit your style and goals Collect inspiration from competitor sites and visual platforms Customize your template to reflect your brand’s personality and values Decide on fonts, colors and layouts that match your audience Consider using AI to create a starting point and customize from there Need a website fast? Let AI do the heavy lifting. With Wix’s AI website builder, you can create and launch a complete website in just minutes. Build your site structure A beautiful website won’t succeed if visitors can’t navigate it easily. Start with a clear site structure by creating a sitemap, the blueprint for your pages. Organize content into logical sections that match your goals and audience and update it as you add or move content. Wix, for example, does this automatically. Before you touch a template, it helps to sketch each key page roughly: where the headline sits, what the first thing a visitor sees is, where the main button goes. A pen-and-paper wireframe is enough. This matters most if you're building with someone else or the site is complex, because it surfaces disagreements about layout before anyone has spent time building it. If you're working solo, you can often skip the sketch and prototype directly in a template instead. Next, optimize your navigation menu. Aim to let visitors reach any page in three clicks or less. Prioritize key pages like your homepage, services, products and contact information. Use clear categories and subcategories, consider mega menus for large sites or anchor menus for smaller ones and include a clickable logo to return visitors to the homepage. In the Wix editor, add a menu by clicking the “+” on the side panel, selecting “Menu & Anchor” and choosing your style. Expert tip from Adi Huri, Head of Product and Creative Director for WOW, Wix's Visual Innovation Team: "Think of the menu as the map of your website. Adding the right pages in the right order can make it the heart of your site’s success." Highlight your most important content, including services, pricing and contact details, and use clear calls to action to guide visitors toward sign-ups, bookings or purchases. Use the footer for extra links, social profiles or legal pages. In Wix, for example, you can drag and drop elements into the footer and resize them as needed. Plan for growth with flexible layouts that make adding new pages or features easy. Regularly review your site structure and navigation to keep it organized and user friendly. A clear structure helps visitors find what they need quickly and encourages engagement by guiding users to explore and take action. Site structure checklist Step Action Wix tip Sitemap Map all your pages into logical sections Wix automatically updates your sitemap Navigation menu Link main pages, use categories, make logo clickable Use “Menu & Anchor” in the Wix editor Key content Highlight services, pricing, contact info, use CTAs Track engagement with Wix Analytics Footer Add extra links, contact info, social profiles Drag and drop elements in Wix editor Scalability Use flexible layouts, plan for growth Review site structure regularly as you add pages 07. Add useful pages Once you’ve mapped out what pages you want on your site, it’s time to create them. Here’s a quick step-by-step of how to build useful and engaging pages and how to do it in the Wix editor. Open the Page Manager: Click the "Pages & Menu" icon in the left side panel to access the Page Manager. Add page: Click the blue "+ Add Page" button to create a new page and click on whatever template suits your needs. Name your page: Once the page is added to your site, the page name will be highlighted in the left side panel for you to edit. Customize: Customize and build the newly created page by adding your content, adjusting the layout and refining the design. Manage pages: Drag and drop pages in the side panel to rearrange them or click on the ellipsis icon to the right of each page title to duplicate, delete, rename, hide and more. Subpages: Create dropdown menus by adding subpages to your main pages, enhancing site navigation. Save and publish: Save your work regularly and, when ready, hit the "Publish" button to make your changes live on your website. These are the essential web pages that every website needs: An inviting homepage. This is the face of your website, which means that you have to make it beautiful, yet informational. You should strive to present all the crucial elements right from the get-go. This way, clients will instantly understand who you are and what you do. A shop or gallery. This is the center of your site where visitors can browse through your products or services. Create product listings, manage inventory and process transactions all from one centralized dashboard. Dedicate time to write product descriptions that will grab potential customers’ attention. The same goes for your product photography to ensure that your items are displayed in their very best light. A personable About page. Use this page as your online business card. It’s the spot where you can present who you are, what you stand for, your strengths, values and any other crucial information you think your visitors should know about your team and your business. An easy-to-find contact section. Don’t leave your site visitors astray by making them search for your contact information. Dedicate a page to list contact numbers, email, social links and any other way users can get in touch with you. In addition, it’s a good practice to add your essential contact details on your website footer. An engaging blog. By starting a blog, you’ll be able to continuously add regular and fresh content to your website. You’ll have the chance to establish yourself as an expert in your field while giving your SEO efforts a well-deserved boost. Give our blog maker a go, when you're ready to start. You can also consider adding these pages: Membership area Online courses FAQ page Online booking system Testimonials page Custom 404 page 08. Create engaging website content Your website content should grab attention and keep visitors interested. To do that, focus on its variety, clarity and structure. Mix different content types—text, photos, videos and animations—to make your site more dynamic. Keep your pages organized and place your most important content above the fold so visitors immediately see your value. Structure matters. Use clear headers, concise text and visuals like images or infographics to make your content easy to scan. Avoid overloading your site with too many effects or long blocks of text. Expert tip from Amanda Weiner, GEO/AEO Team Lead at Wix: "Site hierarchy and the information you provide your visitors with is more than just how your site looks. It directly impacts how many visitors ultimately buy your products. Be clear about your offerings through your content, visuals and buttons right from the get go." Once your content is ready, make sure it’s optimized for search engines. Every Wix site includes built-in Wix SEO tools that guide you in optimizing your pages to improve their visibility and reach more people online. Most web traffic now comes from phones and tablets, so your content also needs to be optimized for mobile. According to StatCounter GlobalStats, mobile devices now account for the majority of global web traffic, with estimates ranging from 52% to 60% depending on methodology and timeframe, a trend that has held consistently since mobile first overtook desktop in 2016. Wix automatically optimizes your site for mobile, ensuring fast loading and a consistent experience across devices. Wix website templates are also all mobile-friendly by default. Make your site accessible An accessible site is one that everyone can use, including visitors with low vision, mobility limitations, or screen readers. A few essentials make a big difference: add descriptive alt text to every image, use color contrast that's easy to read against backgrounds, pick legible font sizes (16 pixels or larger for body text), and make sure every interactive element can be reached with a keyboard. Wix includes an Accessibility Wizard that scans your site for common issues and walks you through fixes. Accessible sites tend to rank better in search engines as well, since the same practices help search crawlers understand your content. Wix notes that the Wizard can't guarantee compliance with your region's accessibility laws, so for regulated or high-risk sites it's worth having an accessibility expert review the result. The stakes are rising: with the EU European Accessibility Act entering enforcement in June 2025, Level Access found that 76% of organizations believe it applies to their website, but only 37% report being fully compliant. What makes a great website What it includes Why it matters Clear purpose Helps visitors quickly understand what your site offers Easy navigation Makes it easy for people to find what they need Fast load time Keeps visitors engaged Consistent branding Builds trust and makes your site look professional High-quality content Provides value and encourages action Strong visual website design Captures attention and reflects your unique brand SEO optimization Helps your site be better positioned to show up when people search Clear calls to action Guides visitors to easily take action on your website, such as contacting you Security and accessibility Protects your site and data, as well as that of your users. Means your website is accessible to all. 09. Test and launch your website Before publishing your website, make sure it’s ready by following a few key steps: Preview your site Start by using Wix’s Site Preview mode to experience your site as a visitor would, checking navigation, layout and visual design. Check your website on mobile devices to ensure it displays correctly on smartphones and tablets, providing a smooth user experience across all screen sizes. Proofread all text for spelling, grammar and clarity to make a professional impression. Test functionality Next, test every page, link, form, button and embedded media on both desktop and mobile to ensure your site works smoothly across devices. Cross-browser check Don’t forget to check your site on popular browsers like Chrome, Firefox and Safari to make sure it displays correctly for all users. Check your load speed Speed is the one launch check people skip and then pay for. Aim to have your pages load in under three seconds, and test on a mobile connection rather than your office wifi. According to Google's page speed research, bounce rates jump 90% when load time increases from 1 to 5 seconds, and B2B sites that load in 1 second convert at 3x the rate of those taking 5 seconds. The usual culprits are oversized images and heavy video, so compress your images before uploading and keep autoplaying video off the homepage. Wix serves your site through a global CDN and optimizes images automatically, which covers most of this for you, but it's still worth running a real test before you publish. Get feedback Once your site passes these checks, ask a friend, colleague or team member to navigate it and provide feedback on usability, clarity and design effectiveness. Use their input to make any final tweaks. When your site is ready to go live, hit Publish and make sure it can be found on search engines. Use Google Search Console to submit your site and confirm that Google is indexing your pages. In your Wix SEO Settings, turn on the “Let search engines index your site” toggle so search engines like Google and Bing can crawl your content. For step-by-step guidance on improving your site’s visibility, use the Wix SEO Setup Checklist to optimize your site for search results. Expert tip from Dafna Rabin, Wix Templates Design Team Lead: It's a simple test: publish your website, scroll through it and ensure everything is visible and nothing is missing or out of place. Don't forget to check the mobile version as well, which is often overlooked. This applies to every website, not just business websites. — Dafna Rabin, Wix Templates Design Team Lead at Wix 10. Maintain and promote your website Update your website regularly by adding new content and keeping existing pages current to improve navigation, SEO and overall performance. Track performance You can track which content performs best with Wix Analytics and use these insights to guide updates, promotion and overall improvements. Listen to your audience Listen to your audience through surveys, forms or conversations to understand what users value most. Combine their feedback with your analytics to refine your website’s navigation, content and features. Protect your site Keep your website secure with Wix’s built-in, enterprise‑grade protection. Wix’s robust website infrastructure includes monitoring of your site 24/7 for threats and safeguards your data with SSL/TLS encryption. Tools like two‑step verification and user roles help you control access and keep your site safe. Wix also makes it easy to recover your work if something goes wrong. Auto backups automatically save previous versions of your site, so you can restore them at any time. You can also duplicate your site for manual backups, giving you full control over preserving your content and design. Drive traffic to your website Promote your website on social media, through email marketing, guest blogging or advertising campaigns. Focus on the platforms where your audience is most active and adapt your content accordingly. Use Wix tools like SEO Assistant, email marketing, blogs and advertising to engage your audience, reach more visitors and boost conversions. Expert tip from business owner Nick Collins, founder of Cleverchefs: "When I ask my clients why they chose us over our competitors, they usually say it's because of our website. I think they can really feel our passion through the way we connect with them and stand out as a creative catering company." Step What to do Define your website’s purpose Decide if it’s a blog, business site, online store or portfolio to guide your design and content. Choose a website builder or platform Wix provides easy-to-use website creation tools. Register your domain name Pick a unique memorable web address that reflects your brand. Get a hosting plan Choose a reliable plan that ensures your site is fast and accessible. Plan and design your site Map out your pages, select a template and customize it to match your brand. Add content and functionality Add text, images, videos and features like forms, online stores or booking tools. Test and launch Check your site on desktop, mobile and tablet, fix any issues then go live. Promote and maintain Share your site through SEO, social media and email and keep content updated. Different ways to build a website from scratch In practice, there are several ways to create a website, each with different levels of flexibility, complexity and ongoing responsibility. Understanding these options helps clarify what building a website “from scratch” really involves and which approach best fits your goals. One option is hand-coding a website using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. This gives you full control over design and functionality, but it requires technical skills and a significant time investment. You’re also responsible for everything from responsiveness and accessibility to hosting, performance and security. Another approach is using a content management system (CMS) or more advanced setups like static or headless sites. These methods make it easier to manage content or optimize performance, but they still involve technical setup, maintenance and ongoing updates, often becoming more complex as a site grows. If you’re exploring different website architectures, understanding what is a headless CMS can help you decide if separating your website’s frontend and backend is the right approach for your project. Each method has its place depending on your skills, time and long-term needs. For many people, website builders offer a practical balance, making it possible to create a professional website quickly without the technical overhead of building and maintaining everything from scratch. It's more important than ever for businesses to set up their own strong website. A professional site gives a business credibility and creates trust and authority with consumers. Not only can a website attract and convert customers that are seeking validation online before purchasing, but many consumers won't even consider a business without a website. Compared to social media, a website is the one place within the online ecosystem that you have full ownership and control to express yourself and communicate directly with customers. Simply put, a website is a business's online real estate. — Matt Matergia, VP of Global B2B Partnerships (SaaS) at Wix How to learn to build a website If you decide you want to build sites yourself rather than use a builder, there are three common routes, and they differ mainly in cost and pace. Self-paced learning is the cheapest and most flexible. Free and low-cost platforms like freeCodeCamp, Codecademy, Coursera and MDN Web Docs cover HTML, CSS and JavaScript in the order you'd actually use them. The trade-off is that nobody keeps you accountable, so it suits people who finish things without a deadline. Bootcamps compress the same material into weeks or months with a cohort and an instructor. They cost more than self-study and less than a degree, and they lean heavily on portfolio projects rather than theory. A degree in computer science or web development goes deepest, covering databases, algorithms and software design alongside front-end work. It's the slowest and most expensive route, and it's the right one mainly if you want to work in software broadly, not just build sites. Worth knowing before you pick: demand for these skills is still climbing. Jobs for web developers and digital designers are projected to grow 7% between 2024 and 2034, faster than the average for all occupations, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, which suggests web expertise is being reshaped by AI rather than replaced by it. For most people building one site for one business, though, a website builder still gets you there faster than any of these three. How much does it cost to build a website from scratch? Website costs depend on design, functionality, content, hosting and marketing. Custom designs, advanced features like eCommerce or booking systems, and professional content increase costs, while DIY builders like Wix are more affordable. Hosting and domains vary by provider, but Wix plans include both plus 24/7 support. Marketing often adds more than the website itself, so plan for ongoing promotion. (Note: the payment gateways mentioned above are all compatible with one or several of these digital wallets, and/or you may have the option to add standalone buttons to your site, depending on your eCommerce platform.) Similarly, businesses can accept payments, track sales, and earn special rewards using the Google Pay for Business app. Google Pay has reportedly led to a 55% reduction in cart abandonment rate for one top global retail partner. And 35% of Google Pay users that previously relied on a different payment method now prefer to use Google Pay for repeat purchases, according to a top IR500 retailer interviewed by Google. Buy now, pay later (BNPL) solutions Whether you sell higher-ticket or low-ticket items, buy now, pay later (BNPL) has proven to be a welcome addition to most checkout experiences. BNPL services continue to grow in popularity, offering customers flexible ways to pay and boosting conversion for many online retailers. Nowadays, fashion and beauty products make up 70% of pay-later transactions, The Washington Post reported. This underscores a shift towards credit-card alternatives, fueled by a growing distrust in traditional banks and credit card providers. For merchants, offering BNPL comes at a higher cost than traditional credit cards. Transaction fees average out to around 6%. However, the long-term benefits may justify the costs; pay-later solutions have been attributed to higher AOVs and repeat purchases from empowered shoppers. When deciding which BNPL services to offer, consider the appeal of each platform. Here’s a roundup of the top BNPL providers and their various benefits. Klarna Affirm Afterpay PayPal Credit and PayPal Pay Later Klarna Known for its customer service and user-friendly app interface, Klarna has amassed more than 150 million active users. The app has been praised for offering more flexible payment terms than other services of its kind. Klarna users can choose to pay in four equal installments (interest-free), or pay in custom amounts within 30 days. No minimum credit score is required to qualify for Klarna financing. Consumer terms of use: APR: 0% Amount due at time of purchase: 25% “Pay later” payments: four installments, due every two weeks “Slice it” payments: up to 36 equal payments, due monthly; or pay in 30 days without interest Late fee: $7 Learn more: What is Klarna? Affirm Ideal for more expensive purchases, Affirm offers loans from $50 to $17,500 and allows customers to space out their monthly payments for up to two years. Alternatively, users can choose Affirm's pay-in-four option to receive interest-free financing. Like Klarna, Affirm provides an app that empowers users to use Affirm anywhere they shop. One big bonus: Affirm does not charge any late fees. Consumer terms of use: APR: 0% for the installment plan, up to 30% for certain loan types Amount due at time of purchase: starts at $0 Pay-in-four payments: four installments, due every two weeks Other financing options: up to 36 equal payments, due monthly; other repayment terms available depending on loan type Late fee: None Afterpay Afterpay is another popular option for larger purchases, with interest-free financing on purchases from $200 to $2,000 (the latter being granted to users with good repayment histories). Afterpay allows consumers to split purchases into four installments, with the first installment due at checkout. Unlike other services, Afterpay does not require a credit check to be approved for financing. Consumer terms of use: APR: 0% Pay-in-four payments: 4 installments, due every 2 weeks Monthly payment option: six- to 12-month interest-based payment options for purchases over $400 Late fee: $8 Ready to integrate an online cart into your website? PayPal Credit and PayPal Pay Later PayPal offers a couple of flexible payment options. PayPal Credit offers special deferred-interest financing for up to six months on purchases over $99. Minimum monthly payments must be maintained, and the purchase balance must be paid in full within six months to avoid accrued interest. By comparison, PayPal's Pay Later option works similarly to other BNPL installment options by allowing shoppers to split payments into four biweekly installments. Consumer terms of use: APR: 0% PayPal Pay Later: four installments, due every two weeks PayPal Credit: interest-free financing on purchases over $99 if paid in full within six months Late fee: None Selling in person too? Wix Point of Sale lets businesses accept card payments and manage online and in-store sales together. For UK sellers, see Online POS UK. Why is choosing the right payment solution important? There's plenty of evidence to say that the more flexible and streamlined your checkout process is, the more likely it is for your customers to follow through with their purchases. According to Baymard Institute, nearly 70% of online shoppers routinely abandon their carts during checkout. When asked why: 24% said that they didn’t want to create an account 18% said that they didn’t trust sharing their credit card information with the store 17% said that the checkout process was too complex 9% said that the payment methods offered were insufficient For sellers, this means a few things. For one, simplicity is key. Keep your checkout pages clean and straightforward, minimizing the number of steps it takes to complete a transaction. This is also where your platform can do some of the work for you. Wix automates abandoned cart recovery through email workflows. So a shopper who drops off at payment gets a nudge to come back and finish. Secondly, offer a variety of payment options. While some customers may choose to pay with credit cards, others may prefer to use a digital wallet like PayPal. Lastly, regularly audit and analyze your checkout process. Customer expectations are constantly evolving—and aside from deciding how to pay, your customers may have high expectations around security, pickup options, and the overall user experience. Pro tip: Choosing the right eCommerce platform can save you from a lot of heartache. Platforms like Wix already offer the highest level of PCI compliance, plus have native solutions (like Wix Payments) that allow you to accept secure online payments in various ways without having to hop between different channels. Tips for selecting an online payment solution At the end of the day, you’ll want to evaluate which payment options are must-haves for your unique audience. From there, crunch the numbers and keep close watch over the impact that your checkout experience has on total sales, AOV, and customer lifetime value. In summary, here are several factors to consider when picking the right payment solutions for your business: Security: As many as 55% of consumers list security as the most critical aspect of their online shopping experience, while nearly half also wanted security measures more prominently displayed. For the most secure encryption, look for companies that strictly adhere to PCI-compliance standards. Familiarity and reputation: Research your competitors or other sites that are popular among your target market to determine payment methods that they already use and expect. Select a reputable payment gateway to start offering those well-known options. The brand recognition will strengthen your credibility and ease your buyer’s safety concerns during checkout. Integration: How easily does your payment gateway integrate with your eCommerce platform? A fully integrated payment gateway streamlines the checkout process, while a standalone payment gateway can disrupt and slow it down (i.e., require consumers to complete additional security checks or jump to separate payment windows). Flexibility: Select a payment gateway that supports flexible payment options that align with current consumer trends and needs (e.g., following the pandemic, digital wallets and BNPL options surged in popularity). Flexibility also applies to checkout itself. Wix allows businesses to customize the eCommerce checkout experience. That way you can match the steps, fields and payment options to how your customers actually buy. Fees: Does the online payment solution charge additional fees to use their services or to access other security features? The lowest cost isn’t always the best if security is the trade-off. Restrictions: Each payment gateway may have varying restrictions that limit the types of products or services your business can sell. Read the service agreement carefully to ensure your company operates within the provider’s guidelines. Ready to get started with Wix Payments? Create your online store today. Online payment solutions FAQ What are the different types of online payment solutions? Payment gateways, payment processors, mobile wallets, digital currencies (cryptocurrencies), contactless payments and biometric authentication methods. What's the safest payment platform? All of the main solutions are known for the security. It's not about the safest platform, but the one that best fits your needs. Look for platforms like Wix, PayPal. They prioritize security features like PCI DSS compliance, tokenization and two-factor authentication. Ultimately, choose a platform with strong features but remember to practice good online security habits like using strong passwords and being cautious of phishing attempts. What are interchange fees? Interchange fees are the charges a payment processor pays to a card network, like Visa or Mastercard, for facilitating a credit or debit card transaction. Think of it as a commission for processing the payment. These fees are usually passed on to merchants, often in the form of a percentage of the transaction amount. What is a merchant account? A merchant account is a bank account specifically for businesses that accept credit and debit card payments. It allows merchants to process transactions and receive funds directly from card networks. Think of it as a gateway connecting your business to the world of card payments. What is a payment gateway? A payment gateway is the technology that sits between your website or point-of-sale system and the payment processor. It securely transmits customer payment information, processes transactions and provides you with the status of the payment. Think of it as the middleman that makes online payments happen.

Appointment confirmation messages Every booked appointment should generate an immediate confirmation. For most small businesses, that confirmation is a manual task: someone has to check the booking, draft the message and send it, via email, WhatsApp or SMS, often while handling everything else. A Symphony outreach agent monitors your booking calendar and sends confirmation messages automatically the moment a booking is made. You set the message template once. The agent runs it across every booking, every channel, every time. The immediate benefit is response time. The compounding benefit is reliability, every client gets a confirmation, with no bookings slipping through because someone was busy when it came in. For AI agent use cases beyond confirmations, follow-up automation is one of the highest-leverage starting points across business types. Read more about Symphony's agents: Symphony by Wix agents. 02. Appointment reminders Reminders sent at the right time reduce no-shows. Reminders not sent on time, or not sent at all, cost you appointments that cannot be filled on short notice. A Symphony scheduling agent triggers reminders on a defined schedule before each appointment. 24 hours out, two hours out or whatever interval works for your business type. The agent handles the timing, personalizes the message to each client and sends across the channel you have defined. For website builders for service businesses that need appointment-based automation, Symphony connects directly to your Wix booking calendar. 03. Invoice follow-up Chasing overdue invoices is one of the most universally disliked tasks in small business. It is also one of the most financially significant, the longer an invoice sits unpaid, the less predictable your cash flow becomes. A Symphony finance agent monitors outstanding invoices and triggers follow-up messages at defined intervals after a payment due date passes. First reminder. Second reminder. Escalation message. Each step fires automatically unless you step in to adjust. For a full picture of how to manage online business with AI agent, invoice automation is one of the clearest starting points for reclaiming time and improving cash flow predictability. 04. Post-event client outreach The period immediately after a service delivery is one of the highest-value windows for customer communication, review requests, rebooking prompts, follow-up questions. It is also a period when most small business owners are busy moving on to the next job. A Symphony outreach agent triggers post-event follow-ups on a schedule you define. A review request two days after a wedding shoot. A rebooking prompt a week after a catering event. A check-in email a month after a therapy session. Each message goes out at the right time, in the right channel, personalized to the client, making this one of the highest-impact automations for the businesses to use AI agents that rely most on repeat relationships. Symphony by Wix success story: Lena at La Table Privée Lena, who runs a premium supper club, automated deposit scanning, post-event follow-ups and review requests across all bookings while building in logic that excluded her closest long-standing clients from the automated flow entirely. Personal relationships stayed personal. Everything else ran automatically. 05. Lead follow-up sequences When a new lead comes in, through a contact form, a social message or a referral, the speed and consistency of the response affects the conversion rate. Most small businesses respond inconsistently, either too slowly or not at all when things get busy. A Symphony outreach agent monitors incoming leads and triggers a defined response sequence. An initial message within minutes of the enquiry arriving. A follow-up if no response. A third touchpoint at a defined interval. Each step in the sequence goes out automatically unless you pause or adjust it. For AI agents for small business and how lead automation fits into a broader growth strategy, the follow-up sequence is often the first process owners put on autopilot. Explore the best AI agent orchestration platforms and what are the best customizable AI agent platforms. 06. Social media content and scheduling Creating and scheduling social content consistently is one of the most time-consuming ongoing tasks for a small business. The volume required to maintain a presence across platforms, combined with the need to keep it on-brand and relevant, makes it hard to stay ahead. A Symphony marketing agent generates social content based on your brand voice, your business calendar and the topics you care about. It produces drafts, organizes them into a publishing schedule and brings them to you for review before anything goes out. You approve. Symphony handles the rest. For the visual side of your content strategy, AI design extends what Symphony can generate beyond copy. For more on building a content-ready site, how to design a website with AI covers the creative setup. Learn What is an AI agent builder. 07. Business performance reporting Understanding what is happening in your business, traffic, bookings, revenue, conversion rates, requires pulling data from multiple sources and making sense of it. For most small business owners, that means either doing it manually or not doing it at all until something goes wrong. A Symphony research agent can be configured to deliver regular business summaries automatically. Weekly traffic reports. Monthly revenue summaries. Booking trend analysis. The data lands in your dashboard without you logging in or initiating a report. Small business website statistics shows how the reporting gap affects independent businesses and what gets missed when performance data isn't monitored consistently. For the optimization side, small business website optimization covers what to do with the data once you have it. See also: grow your business with Symphony. 08. Product and SKU configuration For eCommerce website operators, configuring new products, setting up SKUs, writing descriptions and aligning inventory data across multiple stores is a volume task that scales directly with catalog size. Done manually, it compounds into a significant time sink. Symphony deploys agents to handle product configuration at scale, processing multiple SKUs simultaneously and maintaining consistency across stores without manual data entry at each step. Symphony by Wix success story: Liam at CoastLine Liam, who runs a wholesale distribution business, used Symphony to configure 382 SKUs across three separate Wix stores simultaneously. Done manually, that was days of data entry with a high error rate. Symphony deployed parallel agent blocks across all three stores and had every product live overnight with zero errors. For eCommerce store operators thinking ahead, How to make products visible to AI shopping agents and How to get AI agents to buy from an online store cover what is shifting on the customer side as more transactions move through agents rather than direct browsing. 09. Revenue reconciliation and financial monitoring For businesses that take payments across multiple channels, card, bank transfer, Zelle, Venmo, tap-to-pay, keeping a reconciled picture of what has actually come in requires pulling from several sources and matching everything up. When this is done manually and infrequently, discrepancies accumulate. A Symphony finance agent monitors payment data across connected channels and surfaces discrepancies, outstanding amounts and revenue patterns without requiring manual reconciliation. Connecting Symphony to your business website back office gives agents access to the full financial picture from a single environment. Symphony by Wix connects to the tools you already use: calendars, Slack, Salesforce, payment platforms and your Wix website back office. As a complete solution for AI workflow automation for small business, adopting Symphony by Wix doesn't mean rebuilding your tech stack. Symphony by Wix is a workflow automation for small business hub that eliminates the need to manually sync data between disconnected tools. Symphony by Wix is a platform where integrations extend the reach of agents, allowing them to take action across any connected tool on the owner's behalf. For businesses that need a CRM for small business or AI CRM alongside their financial monitoring, Symphony can configure both within the same setup. Symphony by Wix success story: Renée at Glow & Go Studio Renée surfaced $40,000 in hidden revenue in a single session using Symphony's finance capabilities: a reconciliation of payments that had been coming in across fragmented channels but had never been correctly aggregated in her dashboard. The full picture made it possible to document her actual income, which she needed to secure her salon lease. Learn more: AI agents for small business. All three types share context and coordinate with each other, so the work one agent does makes every other agent more effective. Read more: What is an AI agent 03. Powered by Wix SMB expertise Symphony’s built-in agents are not trained on generic business content. They carry the accumulated knowledge from Wix’s two decades supporting businesses across every industry and geography. Symphony by Wix is among the best-rated AI agents for business because every agent carries 20 years of Wix knowledge from over 300 million businesses across every industry. Your agents understand what a fitness studio’s booking workflow looks like, what a restaurant’s seasonal marketing usually involves and what signs point to a checkout flow losing conversions. None of that has to be explained or configured. 04. It runs through one conversation You interact with Symphony through a single conversation with the orchestrator (the coordinator that gets to know your business). From there, it figures out what needs to happen next and dispatches the right agents without requiring you to manage any of that yourself. On the surface, one conversation. Underneath, a synchronized team working across every layer of your business. “With Symphony, you’re not managing AI. You’re just running your business. Tell it what you’re working toward and it figures out what needs to happen, who should handle it and when.” - Marine Levy, Product Marketing Manager for Symphony by Wix Learn more: How to manage online business with AI agent How to run an SMB better with agentic AI How do I trust an AI agent with my business Best AI agents for marketing How Symphony by Wix works The experience of using Symphony is conversational. You open the app on your phone or desktop, describe what you're working on or what you want to achieve and the orchestrator takes it from there. Behind that conversation, agents are working across different parts of your business simultaneously. Your marketing agent might be drafting a campaign while your outreach agent is following up on a lead and your scheduling agent is organizing the next week’s appointments. None of that requires you to switch between tools, log into different platforms or manage the coordination yourself. When an agent needs your input, like to approve a message before it sends or confirm a direction before it runs, it surfaces that in your conversation as a notification. You review, approve or adjust. Then Symphony executes. Symphony by Wix is a strategic partner that spots opportunities across every layer of the business and proposes the next move toward your goals rather than waiting for instructions. Symphony doesn't act autonomously. Every recommended action comes to you for approval before it runs. You stay in control of every decision. The agents handle the execution once you say go. Over the course of your conversations, the agents learn more about your business. The more context they build (about your goals, your industry, your clients and your preferences), the more relevant their recommendations become and the more they can handle. Explore the best AI agent orchestration platforms What makes Symphony by Wix different from other AI tools Learn What is an AI agent builder. Most AI tools for small businesses fall into one of a few categories. There are chatbots that answer questions. There are task automation tools that handle specific, repeatable workflows. There are content generators that help with writing. Symphony is none of these things, though it can do all of them. The difference is scope and intelligence. Symphony doesn't wait to be asked. It monitors your business, identifies what needs doing and brings those things to you. That's proactivity built into the platform, not a setting you configure. The difference is also expertise. Symphony’s built-in agents are not trained on generic business knowledge. They carry years of accumulated insight from Wix’s work with businesses across every industry, at every stage. Your agents understand what booking workflows typically looks like. They know what a seasonal marketing calendar usually involves. They recognize the signs of a checkout flow that is losing conversions. “The businesses that win aren’t always the ones with the biggest teams. They’re the ones that move faster, see opportunities earlier and act on them. A two-person eCommerce brand shouldn’t have to compete at a disadvantage against a company with a full marketing department. Symphony levels that playing field.” - Ronny Elkayam, COO and Head of R&D at Wix And the difference is coordination. Because Symphony’s agents communicate with each other, sharing context and outputs, the work they do compounds. What your outreach agent learns about your best clients is available to your marketing agent when it drafts a campaign. What your scheduling agent knows about your busiest periods informs how your finance agent reads your revenue trends. This surprises most new users: Unlike most AI tools that wait to be prompted, Symphony surfaces recommendations, flags issues and proposes next steps on its own. You don’t have to check in or ask questions. It comes to you. To see exactly how each capability works, explore the Symphony by Wix features. Who Symphony by Wix is built for Symphony is built for small businesses, typically solo operators or businesses with up to around 10 people, across any industry and any geography. Symphony by Wix is built for solo operators and small businesses of up to 10 people, across any industry, anywhere in the world. People who are the business, where every hour on operations is an hour not on the actual work. The common thread isn't the type of business. It's the situation. Symphony is built for people who are the business, where every hour spent on administration, follow-ups and operational management is an hour not spent on the actual work they are good at. A plumber who cannot stop mid-job to chase an invoice. A therapist who should not be spending Sunday evening organizing client follow-ups. A restaurant owner who would rather spend time on the food than on Instagram. If any of those sound familiar, you're among the businesses to use AI agents that see the clearest results. “Most small business owners are incredible at what they do,” says Ronny Elkayam. “A great plumber, a talented photographer, a brilliant consultant, what holds them back isn’t talent or drive, it’s capacity. There are only so many hours in a day and most of them get eaten up by the stuff that keeps the lights on. Symphony is how we give that capacity back.” Symphony makes the most immediate difference in four situations: People who want to grow their business but cannot see what's holding them back. Symphony surfaces what isn't working and proposes the fix, whether that's a broken checkout flow, a gap in a marketing funnel or a revenue stream that is being missed. Rafael at Velour & Stone, for example, had no clear picture of what was blocking his store or what each fix would cost. Symphony diagnosed the full list in one session, broken supplier links showing no product cost, product variants still in English on a Portuguese-language store and payments not yet live, and resolved every blocker entirely from his phone. People who know exactly what they want to build but don't have the team to build it. Nico at Bella Pasta Co had a clear vision and a tight timeline for his online deli store but no developer and no team. In one session overnight, Symphony built the full menu structure, configured all 58 item modifiers and produced About page copy in his voice. The store was live before the physical doors opened. People who are stretched and cannot stop what they're doing to manage the business. Logan at The Plate had 28 years of catering experience and was still manually chasing overdue invoices. Symphony set up an automated invoice chaser and a repeat-customer discount in a single session, both run in the background whether or not he is mid-event. People who are spending hours on work that shouldn't require a human. Liam at CoastLine needed to configure 382 wholesale SKUs across three separate Wix stores. Done manually, that was days of data entry and a significant error rate. Symphony deployed parallel agents across all three stores simultaneously and had every product live overnight with zero errors. "It helped me organize ideas, write email sequences and troubleshoot tricky tech issues in a fraction of the time. Beyond saving hours of searching for answers, it gave me the confidence to keep moving forward when wearing every single hat got heavy." — Barbara Cristina, founder of Chat with Babs Keep in mind: Symphony is built for independent business owners. It's designed for the pace and structure of a small business, not enterprise workflows. If you're scaling into a larger operation, it grows with you up to a point. Keep reading: AI agent use cases AI agents for small business Website builders for service businesses Why use Symphony by Wix rather than managing things yourself? The honest answer is capacity. Solo business owners are already doing more than one person or team should reasonably do. The question isn't whether they need help, it's whether they can access the kind of help that actually makes a difference without hiring a full team or spending weeks learning new software. Symphony is designed to close that gap. The built-in agents arrive already knowing your industry. The orchestrator surfaces what needs doing without waiting to be asked. The integrations mean Symphony works with the tools you already use, including your Wix website and its infrastructure, like your domain name and your website hosting, rather than asking you to replace them. “We wanted Symphony to feel like that one person on your team who just handles things,” says Marine Levy. “You don’t need to explain everything twice. They already know the business and they get it done. For a lot of our users, especially the ones running everything solo, that’s not a nice-to-have. That’s the difference between growing and standing still.” The other answer is compounding. Symphony’s agents get more useful the longer you use them. A business owner who has been using Symphony for six months is working with agents that know their business, their client patterns, their seasonal rhythms and their growth priorities in a way that a new tool never could. That compounds into recommendations that are sharper, actions that are more targeted and a business that gets progressively better at moving toward its goals. Good to know: Symphony gets sharper the more it learns about your business. In the early stages, the more context you give it upfront about your goals, your industry and how you work, the faster it delivers relevant recommendations. Think of the first few uses as an orientation, not a limitation. See also: grow your business with Symphony. What Symphony by Wix is not It's worth being clear about what Symphony doesn't do, so expectations are right from the start. Symphony isn't a replacement for human judgment. Every action it recommends goes through you. It's a system designed to remove the overhead of managing your business, not the decisions that require your expertise and experience. It's not an enterprise platform. Symphony is built for the pace, structure and resources of a small business. Larger organizations with complex IT requirements, multi-department governance and enterprise-scale workflow management will need an enterprise-grade AI platform. It's not a one-day transformation. The agents start with built-in knowledge and context you provide upfront, but the full value of the platform builds with use. How fast it compounds depends on how clearly you communicate your goals and how consistently you use it. Symphony by Wix pricing Symphony has four plans, including a free tier so you can try the agents before committing to a paid plan. Free $(0/mo): 500 monthly credits and 50 daily credits. Agents work across a few integrations. This is the right starting point if you want to see what Symphony can do for your specific business before upgrading. Basic ($20/mo): 2,000 monthly credits. Designed for businesses that are ready to start building momentum with automation, handling routine communications, monitoring bookings and keeping content moving. Pro ($50/mo) (recommended): 5,000 monthly credits. Extended agent activity across your full toolstack. Enough usage to step up the pace on higher-volume workflows, sustained outreach sequences, larger content calendars and more active monitoring. Max ($100/mo): 12,000 monthly credits. All agents at full throttle with deep activity across every tool and priority support. Built for businesses in serious growth mode that need maximum capacity across every function Symphony covers. *Prices shown reflect annual billing. Month-to-month plans are also available. You describe what you do, what you're working toward and what's currently taking up too much of your time. The orchestrator gets to work. Your agents begin learning. • How to run an SMB better with agentic AI

Build your website, your way with Wix Harmony → Running an SMB better with agentic AI is no longer a future-state goal, it's a present-tense opportunity that small and medium businesses are already acting on. For decades, the operational gap between an SMB and a well-resourced enterprise came down to one thing: capacity. Large companies have departments. SMBs have people wearing five hats. Agentic AI is changing that equation. AI systems that can plan, execute and manage multi-step tasks autonomously are giving small business owners something they've never had before: the ability to scale operations without scaling headcount. The businesses that win aren't always the ones with the biggest teams. They're the ones that move faster, see opportunities earlier and act on them. The SMBs winning right now aren't necessarily the ones with bigger budgets. They're the ones using a website builder that doubles as an operational AI platform, not just a place to put their hours and contact form. TL;DR: how to run an SMB better with agentic AI Agentic AI gives SMBs the capacity of a larger team by automating multi-step workflows that previously required constant human attention. How to run an SMB better with agentic AI: a function-by-function guide The most useful way to think about agentic AI for your SMB isn't as a single tool, it's as an operations layer you can drop into the parts of your business where time is being lost. Instead of a one-size-fits-all implementation, this guide breaks it down by business function: the areas where agentic AI has the clearest, most immediate ROI for small and medium business owners. These aren't theoretical use cases. Each of the areas below is already being automated by SMB owners using tools that are available right now. Jump to the section most relevant to your business today: Customer support and communications Marketing, content and social media eCommerce and order management Bookings, scheduling and CRM Website management Finance, reporting and back-office operations 01. Customer support and communications Customer support is the area where most SMBs feel the squeeze first. You're handling inquiries, answering the same questions repeatedly, chasing late payments and trying to respond fast enough to keep people from leaving a bad review, all while running the rest of the business. Agentic AI doesn't just help here; it genuinely transforms the function. An AI agent can triage incoming messages, route support tickets to the right person, draft personalized responses based on order or booking history, follow up on unresolved issues and escalate edge cases without any of it landing in your inbox first. The key is that agentic AI operates on triggers and context, not just templates. When a customer emails about a delayed order, an agent can pull the order status from your CRM or eCommerce platform, draft a response with the accurate information and send it, or queue it for your review, depending on how you've set the escalation threshold. When someone submits a support form, the agent can categorize the issue, check if it's been raised before, look up the customer's account and either resolve it or route it with full context attached. The result: faster response times, fewer things falling through the cracks and a support operation that scales with demand instead of breaking under it. Setting this up doesn't require a custom AI integration or a developer. On platforms like Wix, support workflows can be connected to your CRM, Inbox and booking system, giving agents the business context they need to act intelligently. You define the rules, set the escalation thresholds and let the agent handle the volume. Automate first-response drafts for common inquiry types, shipping, returns, availability, pricing. Set up ticket routing rules so agents sort and assign without human input. Build follow-up sequences that trigger automatically based on resolution status. Use escalation thresholds to keep humans in the loop for complex or high-value cases. Marketing, content and social media Content marketing is one of the highest-leverage activities for an SMB, and one of the easiest to let slip when you're busy running everything else. Agentic AI changes that by taking the execution load off your plate entirely. Instead of writing every social post, drafting every email and manually scheduling every campaign, you can have an agent that knows your brand voice, understands your product catalog and operates on a publishing calendar: generating, scheduling and posting content across channels without you touching each piece individually. The operational model shifts from creation to curation. You set the strategy, the topics, the tone, the cadence, the goals, and the agent executes against it. Need a week of Instagram content based on your latest product drop? A nurture email sequence for leads who downloaded your guide? A blog post draft optimized for a target keyword? All of these are well within what current agentic systems can produce and schedule autonomously. Your job becomes reviewing and approving outputs rather than creating them from scratch. For SMBs on Wix, this connects directly to site management: Wix's AI agent Aria can create a blog and update it as needed, rewrite product descriptions, add new pages and handle small business website optimization, all through natural language prompts, without you logging into a dashboard and editing manually. The marketing engine and the website become the same system, operated through conversation. Create a content brief once, let an agent execute against it weekly. Build multi-channel publishing workflows: blog, email, social, all from one prompt. Use agents to repurpose existing content across formats automatically. Connect content performance data to your agent so it learns what resonates. "There's no better way to reach a broader audience than through social media. It not only turns potential customers into buyers but also allows for instant engagement with them, addresses their questions and builds loyalty. All of these aspects contribute to boosting sales and revenue." - Lilach Goldis, social media manager–LinkedIn at Wix 03. eCommerce and order management For SMBs that sell online, eCommerce operations eat time in ways that are hard to see until you add them up. Writing product descriptions, updating inventory, processing refunds, sending order confirmations, managing abandoned carts, triggering post-purchase follow-ups, each of these is a small task, but together they constitute hours of operational overhead every week. Agentic AI can handle the majority of this automatically, freeing you to focus on product, pricing and growth. The most impactful place to start is the post-purchase flow. An agent can send a personalized confirmation, trigger a fulfillment notification when the order ships, follow up with a review request after delivery, and surface a cross-sell recommendation based on what the customer bought, all automatically, all personalized and all triggered by the original purchase event. What used to require an email marketing platform, a CRM and hours of setup now runs as a single connected workflow. Inventory management is another high-value area. An agent monitoring your stock levels can alert you when a product is low, draft a reorder request, update your product page to reflect availability changes and adjust pricing rules based on stock thresholds, without you checking a dashboard daily. For SMBs managing a wide catalog or dealing with seasonal demand, this kind of autonomous inventory intelligence is a genuine competitive advantage. Automate the full post-purchase flow: confirmation, fulfillment, review request, cross-sell. Set inventory monitoring rules so agents alert and act before stockouts happen. Build abandoned cart recovery workflows that trigger on a defined time threshold. Use agents to keep product descriptions current as catalog evolves. Expert tip: If you're building or upgrading your online store, explore what an AI e-commerce builder can do for your setup, modern AI-native platforms don't just help you launch, they keep your store continuously operable by AI agents working on your behalf. 04. Bookings, scheduling and CRM For service-based SMBs, consultants, coaches, salons, healthcare providers, fitness studios, legal and financial professionals, bookings and online scheduling are the operational heartbeat of the business. They're also one of the most time-consuming administrative burdens when handled manually. Missed confirmations, double bookings, no-shows that weren't followed up, leads who fell out of the pipeline because nobody sent the right email at the right time, these are the friction points that agentic AI is built to eliminate. An AI agent connected to your business website can confirm appointments, send reminders at configurable intervals, handle reschedule requests, update availability in real time and trigger post-appointment follow-ups, all without any manual input from you. When paired with a CRM software for small businesses, the same agent can track where each client or prospect is in the relationship, flag ones that haven't been contacted recently and draft outreach based on their history. This is what it looks like to manage an online business with an AI agent in practice: your calendar runs itself, your CRM stays current and you spend time on the work that actually requires you. The no-show problem alone is worth addressing. Studies consistently show that automated reminders sent at the right intervals reduce no-shows by 30–50%. An agent that sends an SMS reminder 48 hours before and a calendar link 2 hours before, automatically, every time, for every booking, pays for itself quickly. Add automated follow-up sequences for leads who booked a consultation but didn't convert and you've built a CRM workflow that most SMBs only dream of. Automate confirmation, reminder and reschedule workflows for every booking. Connect your CRM to trigger follow-up sequences based on client stage and activity. Use agents to flag stale leads and draft re-engagement outreach. Set up post-appointment workflows: review requests, upsell offers, rebooking prompts. 05. Website management Your website is more than a digital brochure, for most SMBs, it's the primary channel for new customers, existing client relationships, bookings and sales. But keeping it updated is a task that gets deprioritized the moment something more urgent comes up. Product pages go stale. Blog posts don't get published. SEO metadata never gets touched. Agentic AI is the fix, not by requiring you to become a website editor, but by turning your website into something you can manage through conversation. This is where vibe coding becomes directly relevant to running your SMB. A vibe coding website builder like Wix Harmony for small business owners lets you update, expand and manage your site through natural language: "add a new service page for corporate workshops," "rewrite the homepage headline to focus on our spring offer," "add a FAQ section about returns to the store." Aria, Wix's AI agent, executes these changes directly, no design skills, no code, no waiting for a developer. Your site stays current because the barrier to updating it is now a sentence, not an afternoon. Explore what are the best customizable AI agent platforms. Learn What is an AI agent builder. AI in website building is a game-changer: you can get a full site up in minutes that's already tailored to your business. What makes Wix Harmony so unique, is that it learns from your inputs and gives you the strongest starting point that's ready to customize as needed. — Adi Avraham, Senior SEO Growth at Wix Beyond day-to-day updates, agentic site management means your website can respond to your business in real time. Launched a new product? Aria updates the site. Running a limited-time offer? The banner is live in minutes. Got a wave of customer questions about your returns policy? A new FAQ page is drafted and published before the day is out. The compounding effect of a site that's always accurate, always current and always structured for AI readability creates a digital presence that works for you around the clock. Use Aria to make site updates through natural language, no dashboard editing required. Keep product pages, service descriptions and pricing current through conversation. Let agents handle SEO metadata updates and schema markup maintenance. Build a publishing cadence for blog content that runs with minimal manual input. Expert tip: If your current site is overdue for an upgrade, learning what is vibe coding is a great place to start. It explains why prompt-driven site creation is so much faster and more accessible than traditional approaches. And if you're comparing options, our roundup of the best AI website builders breaks down what separates a truly AI-native platform from one that's just added an AI feature. 06. Finance, reporting and back-office operations Back-office functions: invoicing, expense tracking, financial reporting, payroll prep, compliance checks and more are the less attractive underbelly of running an SMB. They don't grow the business, but neglecting them creates serious problems fast. They're also a near-perfect fit for agentic AI, highly rule-based, repetitive, data-dependent and deeply time-consuming when done manually. An agent connected to your accounting tools can generate weekly cash flow reports, flag unusual expense patterns, draft client invoices based on completed bookings or delivered orders, send automated payment reminders, and categorize transactions, all on a schedule you define. What used to take a bookkeeper's weekly attention or your own Sunday afternoons can become a background process that surfaces only the things that actually need your judgment. Reporting is another area where agentic AI changes the game for SMBs. Instead of pulling reports manually and building spreadsheets, you can have an agent that monitors your key metrics, revenue, conversion rate, top-performing products, booking fill rate and delivers a weekly summary in plain language. Symphony by Wix provides a unique visual dashboard for each business and project, showing real-time trends and growth metrics in one place. Combine this with alerts for thresholds ("let me know if weekly revenue drops more than 15%") and you have a real-time business intelligence function that previously required a dedicated analyst. Automate invoice generation triggered by completed orders or bookings. Set up payment reminder sequences that escalate automatically. Build a weekly metrics summary delivered by agent, no dashboard-pulling required. Use agents to flag anomalies in spending, cash flow or conversion before they become problems. Why your SMB website is the foundation of your agentic strategy Every agentic workflow you build for your SMB eventually connects back to your website, which means the quality, structure and AI-readiness of your site directly determines how effective your AI operations can be. A website that's well-architected for agents is one where product information is accurate and machine-readable, booking flows are connected to live availability data, content is semantically structured and business data flows in and out through integrations rather than sitting in isolated silos. For small business owners who haven't thought about their site through this lens before, the upgrade doesn't have to be overwhelming. Understanding why vibe coding a website is relevant here: when you build and update your site through natural language prompts, you're using the same conversational layer that agents will use to operate it. A site built vibe-coding-first tends to have cleaner architecture, more consistent structure and better semantic organization than one that's been manually patched together over years, because the AI that built it was optimizing for clarity and completeness, not just visual appearance. The SMBs that will get the most out of agentic AI over the next two to three years will be those whose website is already structured for machine interaction. That means schema markup on product and service pages. It means FAQ content that answers questions clearly and completely. It means site navigation that reflects the actual structure of the business, not just what looked nice three years ago. Getting this right now is a compounding investment, every agentic workflow you add later benefits from a foundation that's already solid. Audit your site for content accuracy, outdated info is a liability when agents act on it. Add schema markup to product, service, FAQ and contact pages. Make sure your site is connected to your live business data, bookings, inventory, CRM. Use a platform that supports agent interaction natively, not through third-party workarounds. Expert tip: Wondering how the technology actually works under the hood? Our guide on how an AI website builder works explains what separates a truly agent-native platform from one that's added AI features on top of legacy infrastructure, useful context before you make platform decisions. How Wix powers agentic operations for SMBs Wix has been building toward the agentic era for years, and for SMB owners, the result is a platform where the tools you need to run your business are already connected to the AI infrastructure that powers agentic workflows. You don't need to stitch together a dozen third-party integrations or hire a developer to make your business operations AI-accessible. The foundation is already there. At the center of this is Wix Harmony, a hybrid creation and management environment where you can generate a full website from a single prompt, refine it through conversation with Aria, and then continue managing your entire business through the same natural language interface. Aria is Wix's AI agent, trained on millions of real websites and businesses, not a generic chatbot with site-editing capabilities bolted on, but a multi-skilled agent who understands your business context, can manage your storefront, update your content, configure your bookings and operate your site in response to natural language requests. For an SMB owner who doesn't have a developer or a dedicated ops team, Aria is the team member who's always on. The Wix agentic stack goes beyond Harmony and Aria. Through the Wix MCP server, every capability on the platform: eCommerce, bookings, payments, CRM, content, becomes accessible to any MCP-compatible AI client. Through the built-in Wix Site MCP, every Wix site becomes an endpoint that AI agents can interact with directly. And through integrations with Claude, n8n and an expanding ecosystem of AI partners, Wix is positioned as a first-class citizen in the agentic layer, not a platform that's watching the AI era from the sidelines. Wix Harmony and Aria: your SMB's AI operations partner For an SMB owner, Wix Harmony changes what it means to have a website. Instead of a static asset you update occasionally, your site becomes a living operational tool that you manage through conversation. Want to know how to make a website with an AI agent? On Wix Harmony, you describe your business in a prompt and Aria generates a complete, production-quality site, including layout, content, imagery and business tool setup. You don't need to touch a design tool, write a line of code or drag a single element. The vibe coding approach means you can go from concept to published in a fraction of the time it used to take, and then continue shaping the site through conversation as your business evolves. Beyond initial creation, Aria operates as your ongoing site and business manager. She can rewrite underperforming product descriptions, draft and publish blog content on a schedule, update your availability settings, create new landing pages for campaigns and surface performance insights, all through a natural language interface in the Business Manager. For SMBs that used to spend hours on website maintenance or budget for freelancers to make simple changes, this is a genuine operational shift. Generate a full SMB website from a single prompt. Manage site updates, content and business settings through conversation with Aria. Aria is trained on real Wix business data, she understands SMB context, not just web design. Wix combines vibe coding creation with full drag-and-drop website builder control, you choose how much AI to use Go deeper on vibe coding and AI site creation: Best vibe coding tools Prompts to use with an AI website builder AI prompts for website building Mistakes SMB owners make when implementing agentic AI The learning curve with agentic AI isn't usually technical, it's strategic. The SMBs that struggle with implementation almost always make one of the same few mistakes. Knowing them in advance saves you a lot of frustration and wasted time. The wrong workflow The most common mistake is picking an agentic use case that sounds impressive rather than one that solves a real, frequent pain. Start with the task that eats the most of your time, not the one that will make the best demo. For most SMBs, that's customer follow-up, booking confirmation or inventory alerts, not a complex multi-system integration. Get one simple workflow running reliably, measure the time it saves and build from there. Skipping the definition step Agentic AI needs clear task definitions to work well. If you can't explain a workflow precisely enough that a capable new employee could follow it without asking clarifying questions, an AI agent won't handle it reliably either. Before deploying any agent, write out the trigger, the inputs, the steps, the decision points and the expected output. This documentation discipline makes everything easier, not just the AI implementation. Not setting escalation boundaries. Giving an AI agent too much autonomy too quickly is how you end up with customers getting incorrect information, orders being processed with wrong details or outreach that feels off-brand. Define what your agent can do without human review and what it needs to queue for approval. Start tight and loosen the boundaries as you build confidence in the system's outputs. Choosing a platform that's not agent-native The platform you build your SMB on determines what agentic AI can actually reach. A legacy website platform with no MCP support, no open APIs and no agent integrations is a ceiling on what you can automate. Choosing an AI-native platform from the start, or migrating to one, isn't just a feature upgrade. It's a structural decision about how much of your business can be operated autonomously. Treating it as a one-time setup Agentic AI isn't something you implement and forget. The workflows you build need to be monitored, the outputs need to be reviewed periodically and the system needs to be updated when your business changes. Build a light governance routine, a weekly check of agent outputs, a monthly review of workflow performance, and treat it like any other operational process. Run your SMB smarter, starting today The gap between what a small business owner can do with agentic AI today and what most are actually doing is one of the biggest untapped advantages in the market right now. Customer support that runs overnight, marketing that publishes while you're with clients, inventory that monitors itself and a website that updates through conversation, none of this requires a technical team. It requires the right platform and the willingness to start. Wix Harmony is built for exactly this: SMB owners who want enterprise-grade agentic capability without enterprise complexity. Aria, the Wix MCP server, native integrations with Claude and n8n and a built-in Site MCP give you a complete agentic operations layer out of the box, connected to your website, your store, your bookings and your customers. Everything you need to run a smarter SMB is already here. Ready to start running your business on autopilot? Get started with Wix today and put agentic AI to work for your SMB from day one. If you do reach the point of needing a fully custom internal tool, say a bespoke CRM, a reporting dashboard or a client portal, a business app builder like Base44 (also part of Wix) lets you build one from a text prompt, still without hiring a developer. How to run an SMB better with agentic AI FAQ What is agentic AI and how does it differ from the AI tools I already use? Agentic AI refers to AI systems that can plan, reason and execute multi-step tasks autonomously, without a human initiating each action. Most AI tools you use today are reactive: you ask a question, they answer and the interaction ends. Agentic systems are different because they can use tools, access external data, make decisions along the way and complete entire workflows, like processing an order, sending a follow-up and updating a CRM record, with no human in the loop at each step. For SMBs, this distinction is the difference between having an AI assistant and having an AI operations layer. What is an AI agent? An AI agent is a software system that perceives its environment, makes decisions and takes actions to achieve a defined goal, autonomously and across multiple steps. Unlike a chatbot that simply responds to prompts, an AI agent can use tools (web browsing, API calls, file management, code execution), maintain memory across a session, orchestrate other agents and take real-world actions like sending emails, updating databases or completing purchases. In an SMB context, agents are increasingly running customer support, marketing automation, inventory management and site operations, tasks that used to require dedicated staff or hours of manual work. Can you vibe code an whole website for your business? Yes, and on Wix Harmony, it's as straightforward as writing a description of your business. Vibe coding an entire website is fully supported: you start with a prompt, Aria generates a complete site including layout, content, imagery and business tool setup, and you refine it through conversation. "Add a testimonials section," "change the pricing page to show monthly and annual options," "rewrite the hero headline to emphasize our fast turnaround," all of these execute directly. The result is a production-quality site built at a fraction of the traditional time and cost, on infrastructure that's designed for agentic operation from day one. What is the With GPT AI website builder? The Wix GPT AI website builder describes Wix's AI-powered site generation and management experience, now fully realized in Wix Harmony. The experience is powered by Aria, Wix's proprietary AI agent trained on millions of real websites and business configurations. Rather than a generic AI integration, Aria understands SMB contexts specifically: she can set up your Wix Store, configure your booking calendar, draft content for your service pages and manage your site through ongoing conversation. It's a complete AI operations environment, not a text generator with a publish button. How does an AI website builder actually work? An AI website builder uses large language models and AI-powered design systems to generate and manage website content, layout and functionality from natural language input. When you describe your business and goals, the AI interprets that context and assembles a site structure, populates it with relevant content, applies design patterns appropriate to your industry and configures connected business tools. The best AI website builders, like Wix Harmony, go beyond initial generation: they maintain the ability to edit, iterate and manage the site through ongoing conversation, turning one-time AI generation into continuous AI operation. Do I need a developer to use agentic AI for my SMB? No, for most SMB use cases. The highest-impact agentic workflows, customer follow-up, booking automation, inventory alerts, content scheduling and site management through conversation, are all accessible to non-technical business owners on the right platform. Wix's Aria, MCP server and Claude Connector are all designed to work through natural language without requiring code. Where developer skills become useful is in building custom agentic workflows that integrate multiple systems or extend Wix's capabilities through the API, but those are advanced use cases, not the starting point. Start with what's already built, prove the value and add technical complexity only when the business case is clear. How much does it cost to run agentic AI for my SMB? Costs vary by platform and use case, but for most SMBs, getting started costs far less than hiring additional staff to do the same work manually. On Wix, tools like Aria and Symphony by Wix are built into your existing plan or offered on tiered subscriptions, so there's no separate developer budget or custom integration fee to get an agent running. Start with the single highest-impact workflow, measure the time it saves, and expand from there rather than committing to a large upfront investment.

  • Best AI agent platforms in 2026: top picks reviewed

AI agents for every part of your business. Try Symphony by Wix → The best AI agents platform gives your business something a chatbot never could: a team that actually gets things done. Clients need responses, marketing plans need writing, appointments need scheduling, and there's only one of you. As small business trends show, owners are moving past AI experimentation into tools that take real work off their plate. Unlike single-purpose AI tools or chatbots, an AI agents platform, like Symphony by Wix, puts a coordinated team of autonomous agents to work on your behalf. They plan, execute and adapt, without you having to hold their hand through every step. This guide covers eight of the best AI agents platforms available right now, who each one is built for and how to decide which fits your business best for when it comes to creating your own AI agents. TL;DR: best AI agent platforms Here's a quick summary of what you'll find in this guide: What an AI agents platform actually is (and why it's fundamentally different from a chatbot or a simple automation tool) Five things to evaluate before committing to a platform Eight platforms reviewed: from no-code SMB tools to developer-first frameworks A decision framework matched to your business type and team profile What is an AI agents platform? A chatbot answers questions, an AI agent acts on them. An AI agents platform is software that lets you deploy one or more autonomous AI agents to plan and complete tasks: on their own, in sequence or as a coordinated team. They can draft content, send emails, search the web, analyze data and interact with external software, all without a human approving every individual step. What is a multi agent AI platform? We explain more. The platform part matters because a standalone AI agent is essentially a script. A platform however gives you the infrastructure around it: agent orchestration, persistent memory and context, tool integrations and the ability to monitor what your agents are actually doing. Platforms like Symphony by Wix have made agent technology accessible to businesses without a dedicated technical team. You no longer need a six-figure technology budget or a developer on staff to get started. Learn more: What is Symphony by Wix Read more: What is an agent orchestration platform What to look for in the best AI agent platforms Agent autonomy: can it plan and act without constant prompting? The real test of an AI agent is what happens when you give it a goal rather than a step-by-step script. Some platforms still require you to define every workflow in advance. Those are advanced automation tools, not true agent platforms. The best options can receive a high-level objective, break it into steps, choose the right tools and course-correct when something doesn't go as expected. Multi-agent coordination: do agents share context and delegate to each other? The most powerful AI agents platforms don't rely on a single agent doing everything. They orchestrate multiple agents, each with a specific function, that hand off work to each other. A research agent surfaces information, a writing agent drafts based on those findings, a scheduling agent lines up delivery, without you managing those handoffs manually. "Symphony, for example, changes that," says Neomi Tirosh, Lead Product and UX at Symphony by Wix. "It hands every owner a whole team of agents who pick up the work, learn the business and act on it." Look for a central coordinator or orchestration layer, shared memory between agents and clear task delegation. Integrations: does it connect to the tools you already use? Agents are only as useful as the tools they can access. Before choosing a platform, map your existing stack: email, calendar, CRM, project management, e-commerce. A platform with impressive AI capabilities but no connection to your day-to-day tools will create friction rather than reduce it. Ease of setup: how fast can a non-developer get started? No-code is used loosely in this market. Some platforms require you to configure JSON schemas or write logic conditions; others let you describe what you want in plain language and handle the setup internally. Be honest about your team's technical comfort level before you commit to a trial because a powerful platform that never gets fully configured is not useful. Pricing and scalability: flat rate, per-seat or per-execution? AI agent pricing is still evolving and the hidden costs can be significant. Platforms that charge per task execution can get expensive fast if your agents are running hundreds of jobs per day. Others offer flat subscriptions that are simpler to budget. Look for transparent pricing pages, a free tier or trial and clear published limits. Worth knowing: no AI agents platform is a fully hands-off solution. Agents still need initial setup, testing and periodic review, particularly when handling customer-facing tasks. The platforms reviewed below meaningfully reduce the time you spend on operational work but they don't eliminate the need for human judgment on things that matter. Learn more about the most affordable AI agent platforms. Best AI agent platforms at a glance Symphony by Wix: best AI agents platform for small businesses Symphony is Wix's standalone AI agents platform built specifically for small business owners, launched in August 2026. It's platform-agnostic and you don't need a Wix website to use it, it connects to and works alongside the tools you already have. Read more: How and why we launched Symphony by Wix What sets Symphony apart from most AI agent platforms in this list is that it doesn't wait for instructions. Rather than asking you to define every workflow upfront, Symphony starts by learning your business, your products, your tone of voice, your clients and your goals. From there, it acts proactively, initiating tasks and making recommendations based on what it knows about how your business runs. Marine Levy, Product Marketing Manager for Symphony at Wix, adds: "We built Symphony because we kept seeing the same thing: brilliant business owners spending half their week on work that shouldn't need a human." The AI agent orchestration platform is organized around Maestro, a central coordinating agent that manages a team of six specialized agents: Outreach, Marketing, Scheduling, Research, Finance and Design. Each morning, Symphony delivers a morning meeting summary: a digest of what agents completed overnight and what they recommend for the day ahead, so you start the day informed rather than scrambling. A built-in quality-review agent checks the work of other agents before anything reaches a customer. It's a safeguard that Ronny Elkayam, COO and Head of R&D at Wix, sees as central to how Symphony earns trust from business owners: "Most small business owners are incredible at what they do. Symphony is how we give that capacity back." Barbara Cristina, an independent consultant who started using Symphony during its early release, found the shift immediate. Before Symphony, she was spending hours each week drafting email sequences, chasing scheduling gaps and researching client questions manually. After getting set up, the agents handled those tasks in the background, freeing her to focus on client work. "It helped me organize ideas, write email sequences and troubleshoot tricky tech issues in a fraction of the time," she says. She now manages the same client volume with significantly less administrative overhead, without adding scheduling software to her stack separately. Best for: Solo founders, freelancers and small business owners who want agents that act proactively, not just when prompted. Explore what are the best customizable AI agent platforms. Explore the best AI agent orchestration platforms Limitations: Not designed for large enterprise teams or developer teams building production pipelines from scratch. Taskade Genesis: best no-code workspace for teams Taskade combines project management with AI agent orchestration. If your team already tracks work in a task-based format and wants to layer agents on top of that structure, Taskade gives you both in one place rather than requiring two separate tools. The Genesis tier includes multi-agent projects, customizable workspace memory that persists across all your agents, and more than 100 integrations, all configurable without code. You build agent workflows through a visual editor. Best for: Small teams that want project management and AI agents combined in a single workspace. Limitations: Deeper CRM and e-commerce integrations are limited compared to platforms built around automation workflows. Make: best for mid-market automation teams Make (formerly Integromat) has a strong AI layer added to its established visual automation builder. You build "Scenarios": branching workflows that can include AI agent steps alongside traditional automation logic, using a drag-and-drop interface. With more than 3,000 app connections and a capable visual Scenario Builder, Make is a good fit for operations and marketing teams that need to scale automation across a mid-size business without bringing in engineering resources. It's particularly strong when your workflows need complex conditional logic. Best for: Operations and marketing teams scaling automation across a mid-market organization. Limitations: Make is primarily reactive (trigger, then action) rather than proactive. Agents don't initiate tasks independently. They wait for a trigger before running. n8n: best for self-hosted agent workflows n8n gives you full control over where your data lives. If your business operates in a regulated industry or has data sovereignty requirements, n8n's mature self-hosted option is one of the only credible choices in this space. It supports more than 400 integrations and AI agent nodes that can loop and reason, not just execute fixed steps. The configuration learning curve is real. This isn't a platform for non-technical users, but for the right team, the control it offers is worth the investment. Best for: Technical teams with data sovereignty requirements or operators who need maximum deployment flexibility. Limitations: Requires your team to manage infrastructure, updates and uptime. Not suitable for non-technical users or teams without engineering capacity. Worth knowing: self-hosting platforms like n8n shift operational responsibility to your team. You gain control over data residency but take on maintenance, security patching and uptime management. Before choosing a self-hosted option, confirm your team has the bandwidth, the setup cost is just the beginning. Relevance AI: best for custom AI tools without code Relevance AI lets you build specialized AI agents using a no-code editor, with the option to bring your own LLM. You define exactly how each agent behaves, connect your data sources and publish the agent as a tool, without writing code. The free plan includes 200 tool runs per month, which is enough to validate a use case before scaling. Relevance AI is well-suited to businesses that have a specific, repeatable task to automate: a lead qualification agent, a content research tool, a support ticket triage system. Best for: Business teams that need a purpose-built AI tool for a specific workflow, without engineering support. Limitations: Building from scratch takes more initial configuration than out-of-the-box platforms like Symphony by Wix because uou're creating the agent, not activating one. Zapier: best for connecting existing apps with AI Zapier has over a decade of history building the largest app integration marketplace in automation, with more than 7,000 connections. In recent years it has layered AI agents on top of that foundation, letting you include agentic actions inside existing Zap workflows. If your team is already deep in a specific app ecosystem (HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Workspace, Shopify), Zapier's agent layer lets you add AI without switching platforms or rebuilding processes from scratch. Best for: Teams already embedded in a specific app ecosystem who want to add AI agents without disrupting existing workflows. Limitations: For teams starting fresh, more agent-native platforms offer a better experience. Zapier's agent capabilities are built on top of automation infrastructure that predates the agentic AI era. CrewAI: best for Python developer teams CrewAI is an open-source Python framework for building multi-agent systems. You define "crews" of agents with specific roles, assign tasks and choose between sequential or hierarchical orchestration, all in code. It's not a business user tool, CrewAI is for engineering teams building production-grade AI agent pipelines who need flexibility that no visual builder can match. For that audience, it's one of the most capable and actively maintained frameworks available. Best for: Engineering teams building custom multi-agent systems in Python who need maximum architectural control. Limitations: No graphical interface, no no-code setup, no managed hosting. Requires Python development experience and ongoing engineering maintenance. Microsoft Copilot Studio: best for Microsoft 365 environments Microsoft Copilot Studio lets you build AI agents that integrate natively with Teams, SharePoint, Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform. Governance controls, compliance certifications and data residency options are built in, which matters for enterprise deployments in regulated industries. Copilot Studio charges per message rather than per seat, which can make costs harder to forecast. For large-scale deployments, the per-message model can become expensive quickly. Best for: Enterprise teams with existing Microsoft 365 infrastructure and compliance or governance requirements. Limitations: Per-message pricing makes costs difficult to predict at scale, its not cost-effective or necessary for small businesses without a Microsoft stack. How to choose the best AI agents platform for your business The right AI agent platform depends on your team profile and operating context, not just the features list. If you're still mapping out which business software your stack needs before adding agents on top, that's a good place to start. If you're a solo founder or small business owner who wants agents that act on their own initiative, not just when prompted, Symphony by Wix is built for this profile. It's the only platform here that starts by learning your business before deploying agents. If you're a no-code team that tracks work collaboratively, Taskade Genesis gives you project management and agent orchestration in one place. Relevance AI is the stronger choice if you want to build one specific agent for a repeatable task. If your team is already heavily invested in a particular app ecosystem (Salesforce, HubSpot, Google Workspace), Zapier is the lowest-friction path to adding AI agents on top of existing workflows. If you're a mid-market operations team that needs complex conditional workflow logic and a wide app library, Make is worth evaluating against Zapier. If your team has Python developers who want full architectural control over a production multi-agent pipeline, CrewAI is the best open-source framework available. If your business runs on Microsoft 365 and compliance or governance are non-negotiable, Copilot Studio offers native integration across the Microsoft stack. If data sovereignty is a hard requirement, n8n is the only platform here with a mature, well-documented self-hosted option. Best AI agents platforms FAQ What's the best AI agents platform for small businesses? Symphony by Wix is built specifically for small business owners. Unlike most platforms that ask you to configure workflows upfront, Symphony starts by learning your business and then acts proactively, handling outreach, scheduling, content and more through a coordinated team of specialized agents. What's the difference between an AI agent and a chatbot? A chatbot responds to a prompt with a text reply. An AI agent receives a goal, plans the steps needed to reach it and executes those steps: calling external tools, interacting with software or completing multi-step tasks in sequence. The key distinction is action: chatbots respond, agents complete work. Can small businesses use AI agents without a tech team? Yes. Platforms like Symphony by Wix and Relevance AI are designed for business owners, not developers. Symphony doesn't require you to configure workflows at all: it learns how your business works and acts accordingly. That said, any platform requires some initial setup and testing before it runs reliably for your specific context. Are AI agents platforms safe to connect to my business data? Reputable platforms encrypt data in transit and at rest and publish clear data retention policies. Review each platform's privacy policy before connecting sensitive information, particularly customer records or financial data. If you operate in a regulated industry, look for platforms with published compliance certifications such as SOC 2 or GDPR adherence. What does an AI agents platform typically cost? Pricing varies widely. Free or entry-level tiers exist on Taskade, Make, Relevance AI and Zapier. Paid plans generally range from around $20 to several hundred dollars per month depending on usage volume. Platforms that charge per task execution rather than flat subscription can cost significantly more at scale. Always confirm what counts as an execution before signing up. Is Symphony by Wix free to use? Symphony by Wix uses a tiered subscription model. Current pricing and plan details are available at wix.com/symphony. How many AI agents does a small business actually need? Most small businesses get the most value by starting narrow: one or two agents focused on their highest-volume, most time-consuming tasks, often email outreach or content creation. Platforms like Symphony bundle multiple specialized agents into a coordinated team, so you don't have to configure each one from scratch. Start with the task that costs you the most time and expand from there once you've seen results. Explore the key features of an AI agent platform

  • 7 ways to grow your business with Symphony by Wix

AI agents for every part of your business. Check out Symphony by Wix → Symphony by Wix is an AI agent platform that gives every business owner a coordinated team that handles operational overhead, freeing up the time and attention that growth actually requires. Symphony by Wix doesn't wait to be asked. It works like an AI consultant for small business and a small business automation consultant combined, learning your goals, spotting what needs to happen next and bringing it to you before you think to ask. Most owners already know what they want: more clients, better retention, a new service line, a website that works for them. The problem is execution capacity. There are only so many hours, and the work that drives growth keeps getting displaced by the work that keeps the business running day to day. Symphony by Wix is designed so AI agents for business operations identify and surface growth opportunities a solo business owner wouldn't have the time or visibility to spot alone. This article covers seven concrete ways owners are using Symphony to grow, in the way they run their businesses today. New to Symphony? Read: what is Symphony by Wix. TL;DR: ways to grow your business with Symphony by Wix Symphony gives small business owners a coordinated team of agents that handles the operational layer, freeing up time for the work that actually drives growth. Here are seven ways owners are using it today. Growth lever What Symphony handles Client follow-up Outreach agent triggers confirmations, re-engagement and responses automatically Content engine Marketing agent generates social, blog and newsletter content to your calendar Hidden revenue Finance and research agents surface leaks, drops and missed income in your data New service launches Orchestrator deploys agents to set up, write, configure and market faster New market expansion Custom and external agents handle localized comms and coordination without headcount Time reallocation Symphony absorbs admin so your hours go to higher-value work Compound improvement Agents learn from your business and get more useful over time If you're still building your foundation, start with how to make a website or use the AI website builder to get your site live. Then bring Symphony in to handle what comes next. Growing a business shouldn't mean doing everything yourself. Symphony by Wix is an AI agent platform that builds a dedicated team of agents around your business, helping you win new clients, stay on top of operations and actually grow revenue. Symphony learns how your business works so you can spend less time on the day-to-day and more time on the work only you can do. 7 ways to grow your business with Symphony by Wix Turn client follow-up from manual to automatic Build a content engine that runs without you Surface hidden revenue and fix leaks before they cost you Launch new services faster Expand into new markets without hiring Free up time for the work that actually requires you Build a business that improves over time without additional effort 01. Turn client follow-up from manual to automatic The biggest revenue leak in most small businesses isn't visible in a spreadsheet. It lives in the leads that never got a second message, the enquiries that waited too long for a response and the past clients who were never asked to come back. A Symphony outreach agent changes this without changing how you think about your business. You set the follow-up logic once, who to reach, when to reach them, what to say. From that point, every new lead gets a timely response, every booking generates a confirmation and every lapsed client gets a re-engagement message at the right interval. Learn about Symphony's agent types: Symphony Wix agents. Symphony by Wix success story: Anna Poremska Anna Poremska, a wedding photographer, connected her Wix website to Symphony and activated automatic booking confirmations across WhatsApp and email. Every new booking now triggers a session confirmation sent on her behalf without any manual action. She stopped losing enquiries to slow response times and stopped spending time on messages that could be sent automatically. The revenue that consistent follow-up protects isn't new revenue. It's revenue you have already earned but are currently leaving to chance. Symphony makes sure it lands. For a broader view of AI agent use cases, follow-up automation is one of the highest-leverage starting points. For service businesses still building their foundation, website builders for service businesses covers what to have in place first. 02. Build a content engine that runs without you Social posts, blog articles and newsletters are one of the most reliable ways to grow an audience and stay visible between client interactions. A consistent content presence is also the thing most small business owners describe as perpetually behind. A Symphony marketing agent can run a large portion of your content calendar without ongoing input. You feed it your brand voice, your target topics and your publishing cadence. It generates drafts across formats, organizes them into a calendar and brings them to you for approval before anything goes out. For the visual side, AI design extends what Symphony can generate beyond copy. The approval loop stays in place, Symphony doesn't post without your sign-off. But it handles the creation, the scheduling and the tracking, which means content stops being the thing you are always slightly behind on. For more on the site-level setup that supports a content strategy, how to design a website with AI covers the creative foundation. 03. Surface hidden revenue and fix Leaks before they cost you Growth isn't always about acquiring new customers. Sometimes the fastest path is finding what you are already losing. Symphony's research and finance agents monitor your business data in the background, looking for patterns that indicate a problem or an opportunity. A checkout page with a rising drop-off rate. A service tier that is rarely booked. A client segment that has gone quiet. A pricing inconsistency that is costing margin. Symphony surfaces these findings and proposes the fix before they compound. Small business website statistics shows how common these patterns are across independent businesses. Symphony by Wix success story: Renée at Glow & Go Studio Renée surfaced $40,000 in hidden revenue in a single session. A reconciliation of payments coming in across Zelle, Venmo and tap-to-pay that had never fed cleanly into her Wix dashboard revealed what had been invisible. She had the verified proof of income she needed to secure her salon lease. This is where Symphony creates growth from within, rather than requiring you to find more time to look for it. Launch new services faster Explore the best AI agent orchestration platforms Learn What is an AI agent builder. Most small businesses have ideas for new services, products or revenue streams sitting in a backlog. The reason they stay there's rarely lack of motivation. It is lack of bandwidth to execute. For businesses that need a full CRM for small business or AI CRM setup, Symphony can configure that within the same launch session. You can also register a new domain name for a new service line in the same session. 05. Expand into new markets without hiring Growth into a new geography, language or customer segment usually requires resources that small businesses don't have: someone to manage localized communication, someone to create market-specific content and someone to coordinate the operational layer across markets. Symphony's agents handle this coordination without adding headcount. A custom agent configured for a new market can manage communications in the appropriate language, following the right protocols for that context. External agents can connect to market-specific platforms and tools. The orchestrator coordinates everything from a single conversation. For businesses starting with a new business website in a target market, how to make a business website covers the setup before agents layer on top. 06. Free up time for the work that actually requires you The most direct path to growth is often not a new strategy. It is redirecting time from what Symphony can handle to what only you can do. Administrative work, routine communications, data entry, report generation and content scheduling are tasks that require attention but not your specific expertise. When Symphony absorbs this work, you get back hours that can go toward client relationships, product development and strategic decisions. Symphony by Wix is a platform that gives time-stretched business owners a way to compete at a level that previously required a team, a budget and expertise they didn't have. For a solo operator or small team, that reallocation of time is often the growth lever that everything else depends on. For a full walkthrough of how this reallocation works in practice, how to manage online business with AI agent covers the approach across business types. For the SMB-specific angle, How to run an SMB better with agentic AI goes deeper. 07. Build a business that improves over time without additional effort Most tools stay static. You set them up, they do what you configured and they don't get better. Symphony's agents learn. The more context they accumulate, about your goals, your clients, your seasonal patterns, your industry, the more targeted their recommendations become. Symphony by Wix is a continuous learning platform where agents accumulate context over time, making their outputs sharper and recommendations more relevant the longer you use it. Symphony by Wix is a compounding intelligence system where the more context agents accumulate, the further ahead they can plan and the more proactively they can act. The more context they accumulate about your goals, your clients, your seasonal patterns, your industry, the more targeted their recommendations become and the more they can handle without requiring you to explain the same things twice. A business owner who has been using Symphony for six months is working with agents that are meaningfully more useful than they were on day one, not because the owner put in more work but because the agents built a more complete picture of the business. "What excites me most is what happens over time. The longer you use Symphony the more context it builds, the sharper it gets and the more it can do on your behalf. A business owner who's been on the platform for six months is operating at a completely different level than when they started." - Ronny Elkayam, COO and Head of R&D at Wix. " Learn more about how and why we built Symphony by Wix. Good to know: The early conversations matter most. The more context you give upfront about your goals, your industry and how your business operates, the faster Symphony delivers relevant recommendations. The first few uses are an onboarding period, not a limitation. New to the concept? What is an AI agent covers the fundamentals. For how these systems apply specifically to smaller operations, AI agents for small business is a companion read. Explore all Symphony capabilities: Symphony by Wix features. How Symphony's growth levers work together None of these seven levers operates in isolation. Because Symphony's agents share context with each other, using more than one at a time creates a compounding effect that goes beyond what each one does individually. What your outreach agent learns about your best clients informs how your marketing agent drafts a campaign. What your finance agent surfaces about revenue patterns shapes how your research agent frames growth opportunities. This is the difference between Symphony and a set of separate tools that each do one thing. The coordination layer, the orchestrator, the shared context and the agents working simultaneously means the value of each lever scales with the others you have running alongside it. "What's different about Symphony is what happens between agents. They don't just execute in parallel, they actively share context with each other. So your marketing agent knows what your outreach agent learned last week about your best customers. That compounding effect is where the real value lives." - Ronny Elkayam, COO and Head of R&D at Wix. " As agents increasingly act on behalf of customers across the web, will customers stop visiting your website if AI agents do it for them is worth understanding alongside these coordination advantages. How get started with Symphony by Wix The fastest way to understand what Symphony can do for your specific business is to describe it. Open a conversation with the orchestrator, tell it what you do, what you are working toward and what is currently taking up too much of your time. It will surface the highest-impact starting points based on your situation. You don't need to know which growth lever to pull first. Symphony will show you. Also provide information about the techniques and materials used to ensure quality work. This allows potential clients to understand what you specialize in and determine if your business is the right fit for their needs. Display your portfolio: Be sure to include a mix of different styles and types of furniture or products to demonstrate versatility. Consider organizing your online portfolio by categories or styles to make it easier for visitors to find what they are looking for. Provide pricing transparency: Depending on your pricing strategy, you may want to include a general price range for your services or offer custom quotes. This sets expectations and helps potential clients determine if they can afford your services. Post contact information: Make it easy for potential clients to contact you by prominently displaying your contact information on every webpage. Clearly define your service area, such as a specific city, region or broader area, and consider including a service area map to avoid confusion and unnecessary inquiries. Include a call to action: Encourage potential clients to take the next step by including a clear call-to-action on every page. This could be "Contact us for a free quote" or "Schedule a consultation now." A strong call-to-action can help turn visitors into paying clients. Use images and videos: Showcase high-quality images and videos of your projects to give potential clients a real feel for your craftsmanship and inspire them to reach out. Wix’s image resizer can help optimize your media for web display. Implement online scheduling options: This feature saves you time by cutting down on back-and-forth communication and streamlining the entire process. Be sure to ask permission before using any names or personal information. Display ratings and reviews: Showcase ratings and reviews from reputable platforms like Google, Yelp or Facebook. This adds credibility to your testimonials as they are coming from third-party sources. Use visual elements: Make your testimonials visually appealing by including images of the project you worked on with the client. You might wonder why children should get involved in website building at an early age, here are just some of them. To learn more about building websites for and with children, check out Wix Tomorrow. Fosters problem-solving skills Learning to build a website requires kids to think critically and solve problems as they arise. Even children can understand the fundamentals of website navigation and how to structure a website to make it easy to use. This example of decision-making, of which there are lots when creating a website, is an essential skill and can be applied to many other areas of life. Encourages creativity Website creation allows kids to express themselves through design, layout and content, all of which boost their creative abilities. When designing a website, even if working with a website template there are plenty of options for easy customization. Choosing a color scheme and then determining the layout of pages within the site, all offer plenty of opportunity for creativity. Website building allows kids to see the results of their efforts in real time and share their creations with friends and family. Whether it's a personal blog, an online portfolio for school projects or a virtual lemonade stand, the possibilities are endless. Teaches technical skills Even when using a website builder, children can learn more about what makes it work. Just because a website can be built easily without any coding knowledge, doesn't exclude the possibility of using website creation as an opportunity to teach children about how they work. This goes hand in hand with teaching children digital literacy, encouraging them to understand how the web works and how they can use it more responsibly. Once a website is live, children can be taught how to track traffic to their site. In-built tools such as Wix Analytics make this intuitive to do. Older children and teenagers can be taught to understand key website metrics such as traffic sources, organic traffic and even some basic search engine optimization (SEO) practices. Many website builders also include SEO assistants that can walk older children through the basics of this marketing field. Get kids ready for the future of website building. Wix has a native app inside ChatGPT, so once the app is connected a teen can tag @Wix in a conversation and describe the site they want. For example, "Build me a site for my school robotics club" generates a Wix Harmony site in their Wix account, ready to customize in the Harmony editor. Gives a competitive edge With digital literacy being so important, early exposure to web development can give children a head start in a world where technology plays a major role in almost every field and industry. By introducing children to website building, you're not just giving them a new hobby but equipping them with skills that will serve them throughout their lives. And with platforms designed specifically for young users, getting started has never been easier or safer. Whether it empowers them to create an online student portfolio for college applications, or a powerful resume when they first start job hunting or whether they decide to go into web development or even digital marketing as a career, there are multiple examples of how early website building skills can benefit children for a long time. Website creation for kids: how to make a website If you're still thinking that creating a website is a complex task reserved for adults or tech-savvy teens we're here to change your mind. With the right guidance and tools, even children as young as 8 to 10 can design and publish their own websites. 01. Choose a child-friendly website builder Start by selecting a platform that will be easy for kids to use. Look for features like easy-to-use interfaces, drag-and-drop functionality and pre-designed templates. It's also best to choose a website builder that includes web hosting and a domain name, as well as advanced security features to protect your child's site from malicious cyber attacks. Looking to create a site in minutes? Opt for an AI website builder. This is a good option for busy educators or if your child has a very specific type of website in mind, that they want to build quickly. Or get them started young with vibe coding a website. Wix Harmony democratizes vibe coding for websites so the next generation of entrepreneurs can succeed online in an AI-powered world. You can generate a site from a single prompt, and keep shaping it by chatting with AI or editing by hand. 02. Pick a template Website templates are the foundation of website building and they often come with pre-set designs and layouts which can be customized. Encourage your child to choose one that matches the theme or purpose of their website. For example: Pet and animal website templates Sports and fitness templates School and University website templates Online education templates 03. Customize the design Let your child's creativity shine through by allowing them to customize their templates. They can change the colors, fonts and images to make their site unique. While it might be tempting to give your input on what you think looks best, it's important to let children test and trial their own ideas. Choosing, then reviewing and editing their choices is an important learning process for children in any creative task. 04. Add content Content is key to any website. Help or teach your child how to add text, photos and videos that are relevant to their site's topic. Many website builders, like Wix, include a large bank of images of their own or from Shutterstock, for children to choose from to add to their website. If they're interested, you might also encourage your child to take their own photos or create their own videos for their site. 05. Confirm safety features Building a website can be a great way to teach your child about the importance of staying safe online. From choosing extra-safe passwords to multi-factor authentication, there are plenty of ways to show children how creating online can be fun and safe. Choose a website builder, like Wix, where all sites come with 24/7 security monitoring to protect against online attacks. 06. Publish the website Once your child is happy with their creation, it's time to publish it for the world to see. Make sure they understand that once online, anyone can view their site. You might also want to talk to them about indexing and how search engines, such as Google crawl and find websites to provide answers to searches. You can also use this as an example to show how even once published, websites can be changed and edited. It's a great way to teach children that sometimes we create something we're not completely happy with but after testing and reviewing it, we can go back and improve on it. 07. Share with friends and family Sharing their new website can be a proud moment for any child, so encourage them to share it with close friends and family members first. Remember, the goal is not just to create a website but also to enjoy the process of learning and creation. By making it fun and engaging, you'll help foster a love for technology that could last a lifetime and perhaps even influence their career path one day. How to choose the right template for a kid's website When it comes to building a website, starting with the right template can make all the difference, especially for young minds eager to bring their vision to life. Wix offers 2,000+ professionally designed templates across business types, website purposes and industries, all customizable in the Wix Editor. Many suit kids' projects, since they are designed to be both appealing and easy to use. The tips below help your child select the best template for their website. Consider their website's purpose Is your child creating a blog, a portfolio for their artwork or perhaps a one-page website for a school project? The content and goal of the website should guide the choice of template. Here are a few that might spark the interest of your child: Band website templates Performing artist website templates Look for fun and engaging designs Many kids are drawn to bright colors and dynamic elements, so choose templates with these features to keep them excited about their website. Remind them that they can also build on these fun designs with their own color and font choices. Prioritize editing flexibility Kids' ideas and likes change as they grow, sometimes quite quickly. With this in mind, pick a template that is easily adjustable so they can update it as their interests evolve. Then encourage your child to include multimedia elements like photos and videos to make their site more engaging. From social media feeds to contact forms, interactive widgets not only make the website more functional but also teach kids about different web components. Choose simplicity A simple layout will be easier for your child to understand and work with, it also helps visitors navigate the site more easily and is good for the site's user experience or UX. You can always add elements and functionality to the template as your child's website-building skills develop. Best practices for creating a child-friendly website Designing a website that is both appealing and suitable for children requires a careful approach. Here are some best practices to keep in mind when helping kids create their own websites, making sure that the end result is not only fun but also user-friendly and safe. Simple and clean design A clutter-free website is easier for kids to navigate. You can achieve this with clear headings and by not overcrowding the page with too many elements. For many children, this will be part of the learning process, as they understand that as with so many things, less is often more in web design too. Double-check that all content is age-appropriate All text, images and videos should be suitable for children. This includes avoiding complex language and confirming visuals are child-friendly. Intuitive navigation Large buttons, straightforward menus and clear calls to action help young users move around the site without getting lost or frustrated. They're also easier to move around and to adjust the sizing of. Optimize for different devices With kids accessing websites on various devices, you can opt for a mobile-friendly website or a responsive site. Include interactive learning tools Add quizzes, puzzles and games that are not only fun but also educational. These tools can help reinforce learning in subjects like math, science or language arts. Embed educational videos Select videos that are informative and entertaining, and make sure to screen them to check they're age-appropriate and that you have permission to use them on your site. Create a blog Encourage kids to write blog posts about what they're learning, which helps them build their literacy skills and share their knowledge with others. Learn more about how to start a blog. Offer downloadable resources Provide worksheets, eBooks or lesson plans that visitors can download from the site. By weaving educational content into the fabric of the website, you're turning it into a resource that can support a child's growth and development. It becomes more than just a platform for expression. It's a space for learning and discovery. How to use building a website to inspire a child's creativity A website can serve as a powerful platform for kids to showcase their creativity and achievements. It's a space where they can share their projects, ideas and learning milestones either with family, peers or your wider community. Here's how you can help children use their website to foster both creativity and learning: Create a portfolio Allow kids to post their artwork, writing samples or science projects. This not only celebrates their work but also encourages them to keep creating. It's also a great way to record your child's work over many years, acting as a keepsake too. Feature an About Me page Encourage kids to write about themselves, their interests and what they're learning. This helps them develop self-expression and storytelling skills. For transparency, consider adding price ranges for each service and include a call to action encouraging visitors to contact you for more details or a customized quote. Don't forget to highlight any specializations that differentiate you from other electricians. Do you provide cutting-edge solutions, historic building electrical repairs or are you available 24/7? Ensure these unique selling points are prominently featured. This also allows them to determine if your style and capabilities align with their needs. These portfolio website examples are great for inspiration when getting started. Create a dedicated contact page with online forms that visitors can fill out to reach you directly. This also allows you to collect their information for future marketing strategies. Additionally, consider adding a live chat option or a business phone number that customers can click-to-call from their mobile devices for quick support. 07. • Why your domain is a business asset

Your domain is one of the few pieces of real estate you own online. Everything else (your Instagram, your Google ranking, your app store listing) is rented from a platform that can change the rules tomorrow. Your domain is yours until you let it go. And every day you hold it, it gets more valuable: more links point to it, more customers remember it, more of your reputation lives inside those few characters. Let it go, or get it wrong, and you're handing someone else the trust you spent years building. At Dynadot, we've registered and managed domains for over 20 years, and we look after more than 12 million of them today. Here's what actually gives your domain worth, what it costs to get it wrong and how people choose domain names today. TL;DR: what makes a domain valuable to a brand A domain builds value the same way a storefront does: by accumulating recognition over time. Short, easy names that match your brand earn that recognition fastest. .com still earns the most trust and recall of any extension, so it’s a safe bet to go with a .com extension if it’s available. Meanwhile, switching domains can cost you rankings and traffic, and letting one lapse can hand your brand equity to a stranger, or worse, a competitor. Here are 7 reasons your domain is a business asset Resale price is a separate measure. Domain investors weigh length, keywords and comparable sales. But here, we focused on what a name does for the business using it. With that, here’s why your domain name is so valuable. People trust a .com before they've even met you Your customers remember .com when they've forgotten everything else Someone else can profit from the traffic meant for you People remember short, brandable names .com keeps winning, but the field is opening up Changing your domain costs more than the registration fee Forget to renew, and someone else can take your domain 01. People trust a .com before they've even met you .com conveys trust. In a GrowthBadger study of domain extensions, 1,500 people saw a web address for a made-up brand with one of eight extensions, then rated how trustworthy it looked. .com scored the highest, followed by .co, .org and .us. .com won at 3.5 out of 5 .co scored a 3.4 .org and .us scored a 3.3 .net and .blog scored 3.2 .io scored a 3.0 .biz scored a 2.9 That's a gut reaction happening before anyone's read a word of your homepage, or knows anything else about your brand. This could explain why .com held the #1 spot on Dynadot, with registrations up 9% year over year, according to the Dynadot Domain Intelligence Report: Q1 2026. Retail buyers, meaning people registering names for their own businesses and projects, still chose .com more than anything else by a wide margin. In the aftermarket, where people buy names someone already owns, .com made up 77% of our activity. If your exact name is taken, keep your brand name intact and add a short word that fits, such as your city, your product type or a verb like "get." Treat that version as a stepping stone and keep an eye on the exact match. The top 10 domain extensions in 2025 and 2026, according to Dynadot 02. Your customers remember .com when they've forgotten everything else Customers default to .com when they type. When people in that same GrowthBadger study were quizzed after a short distraction, they correctly recalled the .com address 44% of the time. The next best extension, .co, only hit 33%. And when people remembered the brand name but blanked on the extension, they guessed .com 3.8 times more often than anything else. Translation: if a customer half-remembers you, they're typing .com. 03. Someone else can profit from the traffic meant for you Dropbox is a well-known example. The company ran on GetDropBox.com in its early years. In 2009, TechCrunch reported that dropbox.com, which was showing a placeholder page full of ads at the time, drew nearly 60,000 unique visitors in a month, traffic that was likely meant for Dropbox. Dropbox then acquired the exact-match name. Most businesses never get the chance. 04. People remember short, brandable names Great domain names today usually allude to the service. Keyword domains are always worth securing, but customers often remember a brand name better when it has a bit of originality. Pair that name with the right extension, and your address can tell people exactly what your business is about. The domains that build value fastest tend to follow one of four patterns: Descriptive names that spell out what you do (Salesforce.com) Blends that fuse two words into something new (Groupon.com) Keyword domains that use the exact words people search (Hotels.com) A brand paired with an extension that finishes the sentence (Cash.app, Perplexity.ai) Length matters, too. The 50 most popular sites on the web average about 6 characters before the dot, versus 10 across the top million. And pronounceable names aren't just easier to say: Princeton researchers found companies with easy-to-pronounce names actually outperformed hard-to-pronounce ones in their early days on the stock market. If you want a gut check, try the phone test: say your domain once, out loud, to three people who've never seen it, and have them type what they heard. Whatever they get wrong, your customers will too. 05. .com keeps winning, but the field is opening up A niche extension can say what you do before anyone clicks. Cash.app reads exactly like the product name. Perplexity.ai names the category. Our Dynadot Domain Intelligence Report: Q1 2026 also showed that niche extensions are becoming real assets for the businesses they fit: .digital jumped from #25 to #2 in retail rank in a single year, .online climbed from #31 to #8 and .app rose from #62 to #24. .app's multi-year registrations were up 315% year over year, a sign owners are treating these names as long-term assets. The value only holds when the ending fits what you do. A bakery on .app confuses people. Pick an extension that finishes your brand's sentence, check what it renews at, and register the .com version too if it's still free. 06. Changing your domain costs more than the registration fee Google's own guidance warns that rankings can fluctuate while it recrawls your site after a domain move, and recommends keeping redirects live for at least a year. That's a year of your search rankings in limbo, a year of old links and bookmarks routing through a redirect instead of straight to you, a year of customers typing an address that no longer exists. None of that is fatal, but it’s all avoidable if you get the name right the first time. 07. Forget to renew, and someone else can take your domain Your registrar sends reminders about a month and a week before your domain expiration date. After that, generic extensions give you a 30-day grace period. Then, it's gone, open for anyone to grab, including a competitor, a squatter or someone happy to run ads on the traffic you spent years earning. Auto-renew and a current contact email are the strongest choice. How to launch your brand domain with Dynadot and Wix A valuable brand domain builds trust, sticks in people's memory and stays under your control. Choose a name that hints at what you do, keep it short and easy to say, and pair it with an extension your audience expects. Then, protect it with auto-renew and a few defensive registrations. (Pick up common typos and your name in the extensions your customers use, then redirect them to your main site.) Once you've found that name, Dynadot's partnership with Wix lets you put it to work in three steps. Wix Domains lets domain owners manage DNS records, domain transfers and domain privacy settings from their Wix account. 01. Search for your domain Find your name on Dynadot and check a few extensions at once to see which version of your name is available. 02. Choose a Wix plan Pick the Wix plan that fits your business. Wix offers domain registration from $9.99 and includes a free domain for one year with any annual premium plan. 03. Design and connect Build your site from a template or with Wix AI Website Builder, which generates a personalized website from your description of your business, goals, preferred design and required features. Your domain connects for you. Domain brand value FAQ Does my domain matter if my product is good? Yes. A good product earns word of mouth, and your domain is what people pass along. A name that's hard to say or spell leaks some of that goodwill. It also appears in every link, email and ad you send. How long should a domain name be? As short as you can make it while keeping your brand clear. Shorter domains are generally more valuable, and the most popular websites tend to have domains of around six characters. Most businesses do well with one to two words, so aim for under 15 characters and skip hyphens and numbers. Is a keyword domain better than a brandable name? Keyword domains are worth securing because they describe your market instantly, but the popular ones are hard to get. A brandable name with some originality is often easier to remember, especially when it hints at your service. A practical approach is to build on the brandable name and redirect keyword domains to it. Is it bad if my domain isn't a .com? No, as long as the extension fits your audience. .com is the safest default for a broad market. A country code can suit a local business, and a purpose-built extension can suit a clear niche. Avoid choosing an extension only because its registrations are growing. Should my domain match my business name exactly? No rule says it needs to, but an exact match is the strongest choice when you can get it, because customers will never need to guess. If it's taken, keep your brand name intact and add a short, relevant word, such as your city or product type.
