.soccer domain FAQ
Who is a .soccer domain aimed at?
A .soccer domain is aimed at clubs, academies, camps, coaches, leagues, equipment sellers and soccer media. Registrars pitch it to everyone from youth coaches to fans covering the world game.
It names the sport unmistakably, so a club or academy's address tells parents and players exactly what they will find.
Is .soccer restricted to clubs or federations?
No, .soccer is not restricted to clubs or federations, and the registry sets no membership or affiliation requirement. A youth coach, a fan blog and a professional academy can all hold one.
That lets a new club or training program claim its name before it has official recognition.
Why would a club pick .soccer instead of .football?
A club would pick .soccer instead of .football when its audience says soccer, as in the US and Canada, while .football suits audiences where football means the same game. In the US, football usually means American football, so .soccer avoids confusion there.
Both come from the same registry company, so a club serving both audiences can hold the pair and point one at the other.
Is there a Spanish-language version of .soccer?
Yes, .futbol is the Spanish-language counterpart to .soccer, run by another company in the Identity Digital family. It suits clubs, academies and media speaking to Spanish-speaking fans.
A US club with a large Spanish-speaking community could use .soccer for its main site and .futbol for a Spanish version.
Can a youth soccer club run registrations on a .soccer site?
Yes, a youth soccer club can run player registrations, payments, schedules and team pages on a .soccer site. Parents get one address for everything from tryouts to end-of-season awards.
Keep game-day updates on the homepage, so parents find changes quickly.
Why do some .soccer names cost more than others?
Some .soccer names cost more because the registry prices short and popular words as premium names, above the standard rate. Names built around a club name or a town are usually standard.
If a premium name is out of reach, add your city, age group or founding year to find a standard option.
Has .soccer been around long enough to trust?
Yes, .soccer has been available since 2015 and is run by the same registry company as hundreds of other extensions, so it resolves and routes email like any established domain. It is less familiar than .com, which matters mostly when people type your address from memory.
Print the full address on uniforms, banners and flyers, where families will see it every week.
