What’s 2-Step Verification?
It’s an essential measure you need to take in order to keep your account protected in case your password is compromised without your knowledge.
Whenever you use your password to access your account from a new device, a one-time passcode will be sent to your mobile to enter so we can verify it’s you.
A Strong Password Isn’t Enough
Today hackers are trying to get access to as many different accounts as possible—no matter who they belong to.
Having your password stolen is easier than you think. It can happen by simply:
•
Using the same password on multiple sites
•
Downloading programs from the web
•
Clicking on suspicious email links
By enabling 2-step verification, you'll prevent hackers getting into your account and accessing your sites and sensitive information—like credit card details, business data, clients’ details and more.
How You Set It up
Enabling 2-step verification in your account settings is quick and simple.
▶ Add your mobile number and click Send
▶ Check your mobile phone

▶ Enter the 6 digit code sent to your phone
FAQ
Is this the same thing as 2-factor authentication?
Yes. Websites refer to this security feature in several different ways: two-factor authentication (or 2FA), two-step verification (or 2SV), multi-factor authentication and two-step authentication.
Will my phone number be used for any other purpose?
No, it will only be used to send your authentication code to you.
What happens if I lose my phone or change my number?
Contact Customer Care. They’ll verify your identity and reset your account login.
What if I receive an authorization code that I didn’t request?
Don’t use it, someone may be trying to login to your account. They can’t enter your account if you don’t use the password sent. Once you’ve logged in via your regularly used device, we highly recommend that you change your password.
Does this mean my account is not fully secure right now?
Wix uses the highest security standards available to protect your account. However, anyone who gets access to your login password will be able to get into your account. By enabling 2-step verification you can prevent up to 99.9% of unwanted logins, even if they have your password.
