Ten years ago, Wix launched its initial public offering. In what seemed like the blink of an eye, the company reflected on a decade of Wix’s remarkable growth, innovation, and empowerment. Management, board members, employees, partners, and supporters gathered to ring the Nasdaq Opening Bell in New York City’s Times Square in celebration. 

It’s been over 17 years since the Wix co-founders were hanging out on a beach thinking of another business plan and realized that building a website for it was much more complicated than it should be. That’s when they had their lightbulb moment and pivoted their business idea to address this challenge. They decided they wanted to make building a website easier so anyone - no matter how technically savvy or creative their design eye was - could create a site to pursue their passions online. They brought that vision to life and, now, it’s so much more than anyone could have imagined.

Since our IPO in 2013, we have evolved the platform to cater to the needs of 258+ million users globally. What started as a vision to democratize website creation morphed into a multifaceted ecosystem. The Wix platform now enables users to establish their digital footprint, as well as manage, customize, and grow it seamlessly.
