Create your Wix Payments account

To accept in-person payments, you need to get verified by Wix Payments for a POS account. Before you get started, make sure your business type is supported

Get verified for POS

You need to complete a verification process by Wix Payments before your account can be fully activated. To speed up this process, ensure to submit your details as instructed in your account setup.

Buy POS hardware

Once verified, you can buy your Wix Point of Sale system from our POS Shop. Choose the hardware that suits your business best.

Set up your Wix POS

Everything you need is built in—our software is pre-installed. Unbox the package and follow the setup instructions. If you’re setting up a retail kit, book a call with an onboarding specialist.

Start selling

You’re now all set to accept in-person payments. Log in to your Wix account on the POS tablet or Wix Owner app and you’re good to go.

How do I get started with Wix POS?

Wix POS is currently available to select Canada and U.S. based Wix Stores users who sell on the go and/or have brick-and-mortar businesses. To process in-person payments, you’ll be required to complete a verification process by Wix Payments for POS. Once verified, you will be able to order your preferred Wix POS hardware from our POS shop.

Which POS system should I choose for my business?

Up to you—we offer a variety of POS solutions for different business needs. Our Retail POS kits include everything you’ll need to sell both in your physical store and on the go. Cover all your bases with our Complete Retail POS Package, or choose the Retail POS Essentials kit if just starting off and want to try it out. You can always add more POS accessories as you grow. All of our retail POS systems come with software pre-installed.

If you don’t have a brick-and-mortar store, you can accept payments anywhere with Wix Mobile POS. Together with the Wix Owner app (iOS and Android), our compact, wireless card reader lets you accept secure payments on the go.

Is Wix POS only available to Wix Stores users?

Not exactly. Our retail POS systems were created mainly with physical businesses in mind, but our mobile POS solution is also available to merchants using Wix Events and Wix Bookings. This means you can use our POS card reader to accept in-person payments at events, pop-ups, festivals, classes, the gym and more.

How can I order Wix POS hardware?

Once your business is verified by Wix Payments, you’ll be able to buy your POS system from our POS Shop

Can I use any POS hardware with Wix POS?

No third-party hardware is compatible with Wix POS software. You can connect Square to your Wix account and use their point of sale to process in-person payments. However, this is not recommended since it will result in a fragmented view of your business performance, inventory count and payments. To get a unified view of your business, it is best to consolidate all payments activities onto one platform.

Which provider processes payments for Wix POS?

Wix Point of Sale is supported by our own payment provider, Wix Payments, so you get to enjoy all the perks of a native payment solution. At checkout, you can accept all leading debit/credit cards (chip and contactless NFC cards), plus digital wallets like Apple Pay, Google Pay and more.

What do I need to pay for when I purchase a Wix POS system?

First, you’ll pay for your Wix POS hardware. All retail POS kits include our Wix POS software, so you won’t have to pay extra for it. To accept payments on Wix, you need an active Wix Business Premium plan, so if you haven’t already got one, choose the plan that suits you best. If you purchase Wix Retail POS for the first time after October 23, 2023, you can start selling for free with the Retail Lite plan. To get more advanced features for your business, you can upgrade to the Retail POS Pro Plan. Note, once you start taking in-person payments, you’ll need to pay a fixed processing fee per transaction

How do I switch from my current solution to Wix POS?

If you're using a third-party POS solution with your business, switching to Wix POS is easy. Just add Wix Payments as a provider from your settings, select point of sale as a payment method, and follow the onboarding steps as instructed. Once you're verified by Wix Payments, you'll be able to purchase our hardware.

8.

What will happen if my Wix Premium plan is expired or canceled?

The Retail POS plan is added on top of your regular Wix Premium plan. If your Wix Premium plan isn’t valid anymore, you’ll be able to use some of the POS features, but you won’t be able to accept payments from customers.
