The Partner Website Blueprint cover on giving every dealer, franchisee and agent a branded partner website

A shopper narrows down a car, then visits the automaker's site anyway. J.D. Power's 2026 U.S. Manufacturer Website Evaluation Study found 83% of car shoppers who already know what they want still do. Home buyers start the same way: 46% said their first step was looking online, according to NAR's 2025 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers.

The local dealer, agent or franchisee owns that next click. Most of them don't have a designer, a developer or the hours to keep a site current. Of the 16,990 franchised new-car dealerships in the U.S., 90.7% of operators run one to five stores (NADA Data 2025).

The Partner Website Blueprint shows how networks give every partner a strong local site from one approved foundation.

Why one-off partner sites stop scaling

Partners want more local customers, control over their own offers and a site that's easy to update. Corporate wants consistent branding and visibility across the network without taking over every local site. When each partner builds independently, neither side gets what it needs. The budget usually exists already. It's just spread across local agencies, freelancers and vertical vendors.

How a partner website program works

The blueprint separates what corporate sets up once from what partners do locally. Corporate owns branded templates, legal and compliance content, permissions and shared updates. Partners own their services, team bios, photos, reviews, offers and events. It also covers three ways networks fund the program: partner-paid, fund-paid and corporate-paid.

192 sites in three days, after six months of groundwork

One large membership organization replaced an aging chapter website system with a request form, four approved templates and a provisioning workflow. Chapters reviewed a proposed site built from their own information, added local content and published. The sprint itself took three days. The six months of planning before it is what made that possible.

Sojitz Automobile Division saw the same pattern across its dealerships, cutting website production from two months to about three weeks.

Key takeaway

A strong local site gets achievable for every partner when corporate builds the foundation once and partners own what makes their site local.
