SafeRates adds live USPS shipping estimates to supported US domestic checkouts. It uses the checkout destination, product weights and the package dimensions saved in SafeRates to request current services through a managed Shippo rating feed. When at least one cart item has no weight, SafeRates uses the default shipment weight you configured and flags that request on Overview. If the live feed times out, fails or returns no supported non-UPS service, SafeRates can return your saved flat USD backup rate so checkout still has an option. SafeRates currently returns USPS services only and excludes UPS rates. It does not connect your carrier account, include negotiated carrier discounts, buy or print labels, or guarantee that a checkout estimate will equal a later label charge. Setup includes the shipping-region activation step required before checkout will call the app.
