Building amazing web applications requires several critical elements: capable functionality, beautiful design, and perhaps most importantly - a seamless interface for end users. We take that last part to heart and have been making some user interface improvements of our own to Velo.
We’re happy to announce today that we have completed the rollout of a set of new UI enhancements to all Velo users, designed to streamline and simplify the experience of building web applications with Velo. Many of the improvements were inspired by feedback and requests from the Velo user community.
The new UI updates are organized around the principle of getting you to important information and features even faster, helping you rapidly develop your next web application.
Here’s some details about what we’ve changed:
Multi-tab Development Environment

One of the most requested new UI features is a multi-tab experience that allows users to open multiple code panels at once, providing for a faster and more efficient workflow.
In addition to a single tab of page code, users can open several code files with just a double-click. These include backend and public files.
New Categorized Velo Sidebar

Another new feature is a left sidebar that makes it easier than ever to navigate across important files and pages on your site. The new sidebar includes the following categories:
Page Code - See all the different pages on your site
Code Files - Public files, backend files, and npm packages
Search - Find exactly what you’re looking for across your site
Databases - Access your content collections
Velo Help - Discover the Velo API Reference, Velo Forum, and other documentation
New Properties and Events Panel

We’ve moved this important panel to a fixed place at the bottom of the window so it will always be available when you need it.
Right-click Access to Code Editing Commands
Important commands like Format, Undo, Redo and others are now accessible with a simple right click.
If you haven’t seen the new UI updates, or if you haven’t tried Velo yet, take a look right now and see what you can build.
