Build trust with customer reviews

Hi, my name is Henry and I'm a learning designer at Wix.

In this course, we'll focus on selling and the features that can help you increase online sales for your store.

Testimonials from satisfied customers provide social proof to shoppers and they can also increase the credibility of your products.

And as an added bonus, customer reviews can improve your SEO rankings, because they often include relevant keywords for your industry.

Now in this lesson, we'll walk through how to collect and showcase reviews on your online store.

Now, one way to collect reviews is just by adding a custom form to your site.

And you can see here that I've added one down here and to do the same, all you need to do is go to the "add" panel and then go down to "contact & forms" and then you can choose any of these forms, or choose a "feedback" form, add it to your site and then customize it to be more in line with your branding and tone.

Now you can use SMS, email or social media marketing to incentivize leaving reviews, by offering an exclusive price, a discount or even awarding a little gift card.

You can see here that I've created a review incentivization email and then this link down here leads directly back to my feedback form.

There are also several great apps that you can add to your store to help you gather and manage your reviews, which you'll find in the app store, like Kudobuzz and Inffuse.

These apps are going to offer you the ability to import reviews from Google and Facebook and they'll also provide additional options on how to collect and display reviews on your site.

Now, you can showcase the reviews you receive by adding them to your site pages with a testimonial section.

Now, on my homepage, if you scroll right down, you can see that I've already added a testimonial strip.

Now, there's a couple ways of doing this.

You can go up to your "add" panel and then add a "strip" and you can choose either a "classic" strip, or go straight down and we've got some premade "testimonial" templates that you can use.

I've just used a "classic" strip and then I've edited it with some simple text elements and some icons.

Now, as I said, you can also use a third party app, such as Inffuse Testimonials.

You can invite customers to share feedback and images of their purchases on social media with a designated hashtag.

You can see here, I've added #NOUSLOOKS.

Just add your hashtags and the social share buttons to your site pages like these down here and then add those to emails as well that you sent.

You can also display images from Instagram that are tagged with your hashtag with the Instagram widget.

You can find that by going to the "add" panel and then going to "images", "my social images" and then "my Instagram".

The benefits of positive reviews are endless.

They support your customers in their decision making, they get the word out about your products and they help build credibility for your brand.

But negative reviews can also benefit your business.

They offer opportunities for you to identify areas of improvement and problem solve.

In our next lesson, we'll cover another customer-initiated feedback tool, back in-stock notifications.

See you there
