The role of designers is rapidly evolving, and this year’s Academy is built to reflect that shift. Selected students will have the opportunity to develop an original design-technology project of their choice — from concept to execution — while deepening their skills and expanding their creative and technical capabilities. This year, the program moves beyond the traditional portfolio path to focus on: AI-First Execution — using emerging AI tools, LLM agents, and new creative workflows to build ideas faster and more independently. The New Designer Mindset — evolving from specialized roles into multidisciplinary creators who can lead an entire process through technology. Strategic Creativity — focusing on the skills, thinking, and adaptability that make designers valuable in a rapidly changing industry. The outcome of the program will be a fully realized interactive project created from A to Z — rather than a personal portfolio, as in previous years.

The best fit for the Wix Playground Academy 2026 are visual communications students in their 2nd and 3rd year at school, based in Israel.

Yes, we would like to see a portfolio to help us assess your suitability for the program. This can take the form of a website, PDF, or google drive. We understand that you are halfway through your studies and will take this into consideration when reviewing your work.

We want to see your ability to build, curate, and experiment. Upload your portfolio (Website, PDF, or Drive link) showcasing your work, creative process, and design thinking. Build a new design tool in Brik Using Brik, our internally developed generative design environment, create an original tool of your own. Explore parameters, define interactions and logic, and craft a visual system that reflects your unique perspective as a designer. Create your branded poster Design a high-fidelity poster for the tool you created in Brik. You’ll be receiving bespoke mentorship from our experienced design guild members coming from various disciplines and backgrounds. They will dedicate 1-1 time for your training, based on your project’s needs.

Brik is an agentic design platform developed by Wix Design teams that turns creative vision into living, interactive design tools. It’s built for designers whose vision runs ahead of their current tools, allowing you to describe a concept in plain language and have an AI agent transform it into a dynamic system—like a kinetic type engine or a particle environment.   Instead of just producing static assets, Brik allows you to define the rules, behaviors, and controllers of a tool, which can then be used to generate endless variations on-brand and on-demand. It is where ideas take shape and move forward.
