What Are Transparent Videos?

Transparent videos allow you to overcome the limitations of traditional MP4 streaming. Set your website apart with videos that have invisible backgrounds that can be played on any browser or device. What is this contest?

Submit up to 5 original transparent videos for the chance to win an iPad Pro and get $300 for each video we select to be in our media gallery. Submissions that meet all the contest guidelines and abide by the official Rules of the Contest will be considered for the prize. The winners will be chosen by a panel of judges from the Wix Team.

 

How many winners will be selected?

The first prize winner will win an iPad Pro and $300 for each selected video. We may also select other videos to get $300 for each video selected to be part of the Wix media gallery.

What is the grand prize?

• An iPad Pro worth $1500

• $300 for each selected video

• A promotional post showcasing your winning video on Wix social media

What are the submission dates?

8:00AM (EDT) September 10, 2020 until 11:59PM (EDT) October 9, 2020. 

 

When will the judges announce the winner of this contest?

Around the end of October 2020.

 

Are there any submission fees?

No. Submitting your original transparent videos is completely free. 

 

How can I submit my entry?

Complete the Submission Form. Enter your full name, your email address, upload up to 5 videos and click Submit Now. Remember, videos submitted must be your own.

 

What are the required specifications for my submission?

Your files must be:

• Format: Video must support alpha (transparency) channel. i.e. Apple Animation (MOV), Apple ProRes 4444 (MOV), GoPro Cineform (MOV)

•  Duration: 4 seconds or more

•  Dimensions: 1920x1080 (1080p) or higher

• FPS: 30

• Audio: If no audio exists, make sure to export the video without the audio channel

• Size: Maximum 1GB

• Loop: Video should loop seamlessly

• Starting Frame: Video must not contain a blank or black frame at the start

 

Will all submissions be accepted?

Not all submissions will be accepted. Videos with nudity, violence, hateful speech, illegal content and/or pornography will be automatically disqualified. For a complete list of eligibility requirements refer to the official Rules of the Contest. 

 

How will I know if my submission was successful?

You will immediately see a success message. Keep in mind, Wix is not responsible for informing entrants of incomplete or unsuccessful submissions.

 

I don’t have a Wix website. Can I still participate?

Yes. Anyone can enter the contest regardless if they have a Wix website or not. 

 

Who is eligible to participate in this contest?

To be eligible for this contest, you must: 

 

• Be a legal resident and be physically located and reside in a jurisdiction in which this type of contest is permitted and have reached the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry, and 

• Submit your own dazzling transparent videos. All submissions must be your original work, created by you. Entries to the contest must not include content that: (1) violates copyrighted materials; (2) infringes on trademarks; (3) breaches the moral rights of another; or (4) breaches any intellectual rights or rights to privacy of another person or entity.

 

How are submissions judged in this contest?

Judges will select winning videos based on the following criteria:

• 40% creativity

• 40% uniqueness

• 20% video composition

 

Will purchased videos be exclusive to Wix?

No. You are free to re-sell them as you wish. 

 

How will my materials be used?

Winning videos  will be offered to Wix users in our media manager. Wix and Wix users will be free to utilize them for any purpose and in any manner that they choose. They may be able to edit, modify and download them in any way they like. 

 

Who are the judges in this contest?

All submissions that meet the contest guidelines and abide by the official Rules of the Contest will be evaluated by an expert panel from the Wix Team. See our official Rules of the Contest for more details.
