Engineering Software for Industrial Reality
ABOUT
Meridian Forge was founded by manufacturing engineers who saw a persistent gap.
Off-the-shelf software rarely fits the complexity of industrial operations.
Our Story
Founded in 2009 by former manufacturing systems engineers Astrid Kovalenko and Gregor Raines
Meridian Forge emerged from a simple observation: most enterprise software is built by people who have never worked on a factory floor.
Astrid and Gregor spent a combined thirty years implementing and customizing commercial platforms at automotive and aerospace manufacturers, repeatedly encountering the same frustration. Standard solutions required expensive customization to match real workflows, or worse, forced operations teams to adapt their processes to software limitations.
They established Meridian Forge with a different philosophy: start with operational requirements, not software features.Â
The early projects were small, single-facility deployments for local manufacturers who needed inventory systems that understood bill-of-materials complexity or quality modules that matched their inspection procedures. Success came from deep engagement with the people actually using the systems—operators, supervisors, quality engineers—not just IT departments.
As clients expanded from single facilities to multi-site operations, Meridian Forge evolved its methodology to handle enterprise-scale complexity while maintaining that shop-floor perspective.Â
The team grew to include specialists in supply chain optimization, industrial IoT, and machine learning, but the core principle remained unchanged: software should adapt to operations, not the reverse.
Today, Meridian Forge serves mid-sized manufacturing and logistics companies across North America and Europe.
Projects range from warehouse management systems processing millions of annual transactions to production platforms coordinating work across dozens of manufacturing cells. Every solution is custom-built, and every engagement begins the same way it did in 2009—with engineers who ask how the work actually gets done, then build software that supports those realities.
