Velvet Reid discovered her sound in Atlanta in 2019, finding clarity in the quiet hours of the night. What started as private studio sessions became a clear mission: to bring the raw energy of hip-hop together with the emotional depth of R&B. Her debut EP caught the attention of tastemakers in 2021, leading to collaborations with some of the leading personas in the industry.
