Changing Your Sitelinks in Search Results

1 min read
The links leading to your individual pages which appear under the main search result are called sitelinks (see screen shot below).
You can determine the information displayed in search results by entering title tags and meta descriptions for each page.
These links are determined automatically by Google and it is not possible to configure them manually. However, there are some steps you can take to improve your chances of getting sitelinks.

To improve the chances of getting sitelinks:

  • Organize navigation so that it presents a smaller number of options, based on what your visitors choose most.
  • Brand your site with a unique name so that your site doesn't get "lost in the crowd".
  • Make sure your meta tags are accurate.
  • Add useful outbound links so that even if your site was not exactly what visitors were looking for, they do not return to their initial search results.
