The EU Consumer Rights Directive 2014 has been in effect since June 13, 2014.
This directive is designed to protect consumers when shopping online. It affects transactions between online businesses and their customers in the European Union.

  • EU customers have 14 calendar days from the purchase date to return items for any reason.
    Action required: You can simply state it on your site.
  • From the day of cancellation, you have 14 days to refund your customer.
    Action required: You can refund customers through your payment method.
  • Show your consumers the total cost of the purchase, including any fees or charges.
    Action required: This is the Wix Stores format, so no action is required.
  • At the time of sale, clearly state who will be responsible for the cost of returning items.
    Action required: You can simply state it on your site.
  • Provide a withdrawal form for canceling contracts & initiating returns.
    Action required: Add a contact form and customize it as a withdrawal form.
  • Remove all pre-ticked boxes on your website that offer consumers extra services.
