My name is Léone Laval, I’m a 25 years old photography student.
I created the Second Life Festival to promote young artists, musicians and painters. In order to attract a large number of people who want to show their work, I decided to organize a vintage market and some concerts around it. The larger audience we get, the better it is. I’ve been a vintage fan since I was a teenager, and that’s a great way to combine my 2 passions.
I built my website 3 months after the festival creation, and that for sure made life easier. People get an idea of what the event really is about and that’s really important. To promote the festival, I used social networks, press supports and spread thousands of flyers all over the city. I would like for the event to become a reference for the young artists who wish to get their names out there, and to see photography and vintage pros come and pick up new talents in this festival.
I got the inspiration for my website from a cinema poster of the Jean Luc Godard movie “Une femme est une femme” (“a woman is a woman”) to use as the background. That’s a movie I really like and its poster is just gorgeous.
I heard about Wix thanks to a photographer friend of mine. I have been using it for two months and I think it’s really easy to use. I’m very happy for the result. What I like the most with Wix, is the freedom of creation. We can do a lot of different things, with no previous knowledge in website creation. That’s perfect for me.
People love my website because it’s simple, original and colorful. I received a lot of compliments and I think that the festival’s success is surely due to it.
