I was raised in small towns around Ontario and moved to Toronto in 1996 to pursue a career in design. Searching for creative outlet, I started painting in the late 1990s to decorate my own walls – but as the years went by, I started to have more art than walls.
A few years ago, a friend visiting my condo asked about the artist. When I explained that I was the artist, the friend insisted that I put the work on display. From there I started producing for an audience, creating more and larger works. It was time for me to create a website to showcase my artwork. Having a background in design but no web design experience, I needed to either learn HTML or figure out an alternative.
Not liking the WordPress blog-style sites that had become popular, I did a Google search and found Wix.com. I liked how it looked, and the user interface seemed simple enough, so I gave it a go.
I have used Wix for a year now and have built three websites, two mobile sites and one Facebook Page with it. It’s fast, easy and I can make any change I need to make on the fly and without any coding skills.
