Wrong email address appears in Wix Pay notifications

Hi all,
I would be very grateful if someone could shed some light on how to solve this issue. Thank you for your time:

Scenario: I am a developer and I create Wix websites for several clients. My wix account is linked to my own email address.

Description: a site (with Premium Plan Biz Unlimited) that I am currently developing for a client, is connected with Square payment processing. (the Square a/c is registered to my client’s business, and contains no references to my email)

Issue: The automated payment confirmation email that is sent to payee displays my email address, but it should show the address which is currently set in General Info > Email.

I would assume that as you are still the admin of the site still and not your client, that Wix Pay is taking your email as being the email to use regardless of anything that you place in the general info tab.

As for the email, well this is mentioned in a previous forum post about Wix Pay.

This was from last year and it looks like it has been implemented already as shown on this page here.

However, note that applies to Wix Stores itself, so it might not apply to the Wix Pay API too. So you might want to read this additional page here.
https://support.wix.com/en/article/troubleshooting-receiving-confirmation-emails-for-wix-stores-sales
Wix sends you an email notification when an order is placed in your store. The notification is sent to the email address associated with your Wix account.

Although I would suggest that you read this page below too and make sure that you have added the store info like you already have in the general settings, however make sure that you have also selected the display contact info too.

Note:
When the contact us option is enabled, a contact us link appears in the footer. The contact information is also displayed in the confirmation email sent to your customers.

If this issue is still remaining then you are better suited going through Wix Support for more help with this issue.

Hopefully it isn’t something silly, like the client will only be able to use their own email address once you have transferred ownership over to them instead of having yourself as Admin and Wix taking your email address still.

That’s very helpful thank yooo!

Yes I think you’re on the right track. I did another site for a different client (this time with Wx-Stores installed), and although I am the site Admin, their Square notifications do show the client’s email address correctly.

you said:

Great! I have already implemented my own email notification but how do I turn off the default one?

Many thanks for your help

Does anyone know of a way to turn off the default confirmation email? I have tried both Wix-Pay and Wix-Bookings API’s and still I cannot disable the default emails which look terrible and do not conform to our corporate styling or wordings. This is so frustrating!
I can generate nicely formatted emails via SendGrid through Wix Code without difficulty - but I simply cannot find a way to suppress the automatic default emails.

@tonystechfix

I read that whole post after seeing that myself, that is why I added that second comment from it too.

So don’t get your hopes up about it being implemented yet.

So you’ve seen my other post about it already.

Put in a feature request for it, then it might get done sooner rather than just when Wix want to do it themselves.

Good call. Yes I have now submitted the feature request.
My apologies, I failed to spot your earlier comment " … this is a planned feature so that why there is no documented walk through "

Thanks for your help,
Tony
