We’re an American book publisher that has used Wix for previous book sites. With these sites, readers can order books directly from us. And we have both PayPal and Wix Payments set up.
I just created a new site for our next soon-to-be-released book. I travel internationally quite a bit and am currently in Belize for the next month. Needless to say, Wix originally thought this new site was in Belize.
Our contact address is in the States. I corrected the settings to be US-English and USD currency. But when I go to ACCEPT PAYMENTS and try to add a payment method other than PayPal, it says the only other option in Belize is to accept manual payments (cash, check).
Wix still doesn’t recognize this is an American site.
I spoke to customer service yesterday. He suggested I have one of my employees in the States set it up. I thought - Ah, yes! That’s what I had to do for the last site!
This morning, my bookkeeper went in to set up the Wix Payments and it told her the same thing - the only payment methods in Belize are PayPal or manual payments. Grr. (And, yes, she’s in the States. And, no, she doesn’t have some strange VPN routing her outside of the US.)
Can anyone here help?
Like I said, we were able to set up our other sites with Wix Payments just fine. And I know for a fact the most recent one I did in July was while I was also here in Belize.
Like I said - American company, American address, American bank account.
Thanks in advance!
