wix data is abstraction above the db type is uses, we will further explore different db types to best fit the requirements of our users and thus does not uses a sql syntax or any other domain specifics.
in the future we also want to allow the community to write npm modules that implements the wix-data db-driver api and allow you to connect to different data stores available against rest apis
is there any specific need you came across?
