How big can a database be? Is there any deterioration in speed as it gets bigger?
We expect reasonable usage of the database. What is reasonable? Let us know what you are trying to do and we will be able to give better advice.
I am thinking of a community forum where users submit tips and vote on best ones with the heart button. The reason for my thinking in doing it via wix code and not wix forum is to pre-format the user submitted content to a certain structure - title, category, picture, URL, short description. So it's not a free format discussion forum like this one is. It's more like pre-formatted blog posts. In fact I was doing to experiment to see if the inputs could be loaded as blog posts as one option.
I can see Dynamic pages being useful to build certain views of the forum - e.g. by category, or by most liked.
Size unknown as it depends on take up...I expect low takeup at first - a few hundred posts, but hopefully it would grow over time.
For such a use case, I would not hesitate using Wix Code and our database solution.
I have another use case. A database that has over 1000 different businesses and each business has 6 services that a site user can query using filters. 23 different dimensions (columns) and over 7,500 rows. We don't have much website traffic currently (under 1,000 active users) but expect to ramp up soon. Can the Wix Database solution handle that kind of load?
This should not be a problem.
