I have a question about speeding up my site - I have a lot of pages which is slowing download speed.

  • Would using dynamic pages and collections instead of new pages speed up load time?
  • Does using Wix Code slow down the site?
  • Do Lightboxes affect load time?

  • Yes, but it really depends on how you use it. Using wixcode correctly and optimizing it for performance doesn’t have a significant impact on your website
  • No, they don’t impact site load time directly.

Maybe try to compress your photos or stick to a standard font.

That’s what I did to my subdomain site.

My web monitoring (pingdom.com) is telling me, that most of the time is spent by scripts. You can change your images and make your we page more ugly, but with no relevant changes in performace. Here’s why:

Your ressources are on average 5-20% of the total page size. If you decrease their size by 20%, you’re ending up with 2-5% of better performance or even not, because of … xhr. This to the burden of the usability. I think it’s the job of WIX to lower their usage of client’s and network’s resources. Not yours.
