Want to add 5% to amount if Paypal selected

If Paypal payment is selected, I want to add 5% extra to the total amount due to cover Paypal fees. I’m sure this is not a rare requirement?
Any idea if this is possible?

Although, it is against PayPal’s terms of service to ask they buyer to pay the fee, so if you want them to cover it, you’ll need to work it into your base price rather than adding ‘paypal fee’ to your invoice or you could be reported and your account shut down.

Thanks for the answer but I should have been more clear - I have two payment options Paypal & Transferwise - I only want to add the extra 5% when Paypal payment is chosen
AFAI understand it, a handling fee will be applied to all purchases irrespective of payment type chosen?
I need 5% add to be conditional

I didn’t know the law had changed on this - what a sham - if I worked it into my base price ( just to hide the Paypal fee), it would make my product more expensive & less attractive -This is purely so as not to disadvantage Paypal who also btw, disadvantage buyers with a worse currency exchange rate as well as the fee charged to the seller

Guess I’l just have to drop Paypal payment option then?

I could achieve the same end result by applying a handling charge on all products of say 5% & deducting 5% if paid through Transferwise. Strictly speaking, this isn’t charging Paypal fees - it is deducting for other payment methods.

So my original question - is there a way of conditionally applying a deduction based on payment method chosen?
