Hi there
I designed a dynamic category page and a dynamic item page , (both linked to a database).
Now I want people to be able to reach that page trough a
USER INPUT ITEM (for example: a text box, dropdown menu where they choose/type a postcal code) and BUTTON that submits this.
This combination would lead the visitor to the specific category page of the items with that postal code .
I worked for hours reading all kind of documentation and I simply cannot figure it out.
Can someone please help me on this one?

What you can do without any coding is to set a number of buttons, arrange them as a menu. In the link panel select to link each button top a different category page.
With coding you can use any element that supports links or on click event and the wix-location.to function. To use an input for a postal code, this will be the way to go.

I am learning this is typical Wix support behavior. The product is excellent, but the support staff does not care enough to pay attention and answer the actual question or address our needs. So, if a person without coding knowledge needs a short hint, they either must mine it on the internet or go without. Great design, no support – what a waste.
By the way, I have put in about 50 hours trying to figure out the same thing, not that Wix cares.
