Text formatting and galleries

On my site, I’m trying to set up my book reviews so that when a visitor clicks on a book cover, it pulls up the image of the book, with the data underneath it (writer, illustrator, publisher, etc.), followed by the review itself. I’ve managed to get everything setup through the databases, but I cannot link more than two text fields to each gallery image, and when I try to put the missing information into one of the allowable fields, the formatting fails. I asked customer support, but they didn’t tell me what I needed to know.

I don’t need to know how to set up a rich text input section, I need to know how to format text to include line breaks without showing markup. If I can figure that out, I’m sure I’ll be good to go.

I guess what I’m looking for is plain text formatting on the backend. I don’t want/need user input, I just need formatting help.

Hey Nathan,

Have you looked into using a repeater instead of a gallery? It will give you a lot more flexibility with design.

Sam, I wasn’t even aware of such a thing. I will check it out tonight after I get off work. Thank you for the suggestion, and I will keep you posted.

Ha! Finally found this again. Sam, thank you so much for your suggestion. I ended up not using a repeater, but it game me an idea for a workaround. I’m now fully up and running - with a minor navigational issue, but I wanted to get back to you to let you know that your suggestion helped me get everything rolling.

Thank you again!
