I just made a website for my freelance business and on the starting page I have a lot of videos(about 9), each one created in their own slider(but since they are alone they don't become sliders). Ill explain why I ended up doing it this way in the end of my post..
So you can imagine it takes a while to load the page.. Ive used the preloader code provided by wix and created a transparent preloader screen that visually works out for me. However, the code is obviously set to fade away the preloader when the site has been "loaded". This seems to be matter of definition since my preloader fades away before the videos(even the first one that is partly visible already "unscrolled" behind the preloader..). I know that the videos are the last thing to be loaded on a page and I guess this has to do with that. The titles and play-icons ar loaded before the preloader fades.. Basically my preloader fades away and I still need to wait quite a while before the video(s) load.
So my questions are;
1. Can I alter the preloader code from wix to wait with the preloader-fade until the site is actually fully loaded, including all videos?
2. If not, can I alter the code to set a hard time for the preloader? If so, I reckon I could set it to a time wich seems to be somewhat the time to load the whole page on an average..
3. Maybe there is a way to change my site(without changing the look of it) so that it takes alot less time to load?
So to explain why I built it like I did: First of all I want every video to be visual on mobile without the need to slide. The different slides, grids etc. seems to look all the same on mobile(where a grid with several thumbnails on big screen becomes only one unit on mobile seeing the thumbnail of one video at the time as you swipe along). So therefore I made every video as one slider on its own.. Why I used the slider to begin with was because I wanted the title of the video to be on top of the thumbnail at all times centered like it is now.
If anyone would know a more load-friendly way to create an identical webpage I'd be all ears.
A last note: When you have chosen to play videos in "expanded mode", why does the intitial load have to be the video and not just only a thumbnail as some form of link to the expanded page? Just seems so unnecessary to load all videos when they will open in a different page and be loaded again anyway.. (?)
Thanks if you've been reading the whole thing, and even more thanks if you'll try to assist.
