Issue on GTM tracking external clicks on (New) Wix Blog

Has anyone managed to set up Google Tag Manager to successfully track external links within Wix’s New Blog posts?

I managed to set GTM successfully trigger all the gtm.linkClick 's from the site, using Universal Analytics tag for “outbound links” and trigger “only links” (excluding my own URL). Tested and working on both GTM preview and GA.

However, when I click any links within any blog post, GTM preview/debug mode doesn’t recognize clicks at all. I’m not talking about triggers not launching, but no gtm.click activity in the GTM statistics at all. My guess is, that since the blog is working on some sort of a layer or widget, it prevents GTM to recognize any clicks.

I tried to trigger “clicks on all elements”, but still nothing to follow. I’ve found discussion about Javascripts’ relevancy layers to prevent GTM seeing the clicks sometimes, but those fixes didn’t help. I think this is especially Wix related problem.

Does anyone have a solution or experience in this matter?

I’m experiencing the same problem. Haven’t been able to find a solution. Hoping there is a way to solve it as the alternative seems to be to write the blog on a blank page instead of using the blog feature
