I am trying to add an interactive map of the US and/or the world to display a list of schools we work in and a list of conferences we have presented at or are presenting at in the near future. It is not necessarily the typical google map that you would put on your site to identify your location. I envision it lo look something like the one below. I would like people to be able to click on a conference in a specific location. Does anyone have any samples and/or suggestions??
The Multiple Markers in Google Maps example will get you started in the right direction. You can embed Google Map on your site with multiple location markers, marker clustering, and custom controls using the HTML component. You can then add additional functionality as you need.
