Inexplicable blank white space under collapsed strips

I have a page that has multiple strips. I expand and collapse these strips based on user action. When I load the page, there should only be one strip with the remaining collapsed. I see a big white space under the one strip when the page loads . I understand this was discussed in this forum with the only option being to submit a ticket. I submitted a ticket and they send me back here indicating its a custom code issue. This is not a custom code issue. Please help. Why is there a mysterious blank space instead of a collapsed strip? You couldnt be creating blank spaces through code after all.

Hi Vidya,

To solve the issue cut the strips from the page, then adjust the page height according to the required length when the elements are in their collapsed state and paste the element back.

The reply above works perfectly for me.

Cutting out the collapse/expand strip and making the page size correct without it being on the page and then pasting back in the collapse/expand strip worked and when on preview it showed the page as it should be without the white space.

Thanks for all the explanation. But this didn’t work for me. Because after the “expand and collapse strip” i have another strips in the page. When I have done that as you said, the footer now works well, but the next strips in the page don’t contract or collapse as they did before.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! such a simple fix yet I scowered the internet for hours looking for a solution! everyone please share this and make it a top answer!! had so much white space as if the elements were actually expanded and also another white space in between my second to 7th element when expanding one at a time that wasn’t there for my first element expanding. THIS SOLVED BOTH ISSUES. THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

Easiest way to start a page with collapsable boxes for future is create a box and just keep on dragging it down (Not the actual page height just the box)

Once you have designed the page delete the box that you used to push the footer down and the page will snap back to the last strip. you have then the smallest available minimum page height

This is the best solution by far, thank you.

This is an incredibly cr@p Wix “feature”…any plans to fix this bug so that users don’t have to do the incredibly tedious workaround???..since Wix isn’t a responsive web dev platform you sometimes need to have 10+ collapsible strips as a workaround to the non-responsive aspect, so this (workaround to the workaround) can be very painful…

@Daniel Barber
I don’t think this workaround is necessary now if it ever was. Extend the page height a little further than necessary and then double click the drag handle to clear the manually set height.

@Lee
Double click solves it, much easier, very happy with that thank you
