I am just curious what the benefits of using one or the other is and when one would be better than the other. I know how that both work and what they do, I am just curious.

Router gives more flexibility, but requires quite a bit of coding.
Dynamic pages can be hard without writing a single line of code
Are there performance advantages to either for making dynamic pages for items in a database?
Unless Yoav corrects me I think you’ll find that dynamic pages are implemented using the router model. There may be some Wix ‘special sauce’ in the routing code but the mechanism is essentially the same.
