Dropdown list linked to URL

Hi guys - i want to have a dropdown list box that allows customers to pick an option when they come to my site. For example:
“I need help with” and the box would allow them to pick what their problem is from a list of options I set up. Depending on the option chosen they would then be linked automatically to a specific product page. I don’t need to store any of the options selected, I just want to drive them to a product based on matching it with their problem instead of just reading through a bunch of product info to try and find what they might need.

I’ve been mucking around for a while now and I just can’t work out how to set the list, fields etc properly.

Thanks but this really doesn’t help. I’m not a developer and I can’t find how to interpret the API documentation to get me to where I need to be…I figured this might have been something pretty common that would have been done before.
