Displaying separate blog [post] elements on home page

Hi, everyone. I’d really appreciate if someone could lend a hand.

As you can see from my page, sherrell.co.uk, when viewed on a desktop, I have arranged the top of the page to display my latest blog post. In the left hand column I have included the cover image of my most recent post, whereas the right column displays the post date, title, an excerpt and button linking to the most recent post.

Unfortunately I’m having to do this manually, which means that I will have to change each piece of information myself every single time I publish a new page. Is there a way for me to link this up so that this information updates automatically everytime I add a new post?

However, please check each field detail carefully as some can be sorted and some can’t and some can only be filtered by certain queries whilst others can’t be filtered.
