Same issue here. Wix - has anything been done to address this?
I cannot reproduce it on my sites with different browsers / internet speeds and different variations of actions after setting styles in the editor.
Can you, please, provide detailed steps you are taking, your setup (browser version / OS) and any other applicable information? This would help us to identify and fix the issue faster.
Hi all, I'm not sure I understand precisely the problem that everyone here is having. However, I have noticed and logged a peculiar bug that sounds related to what people are describing.
What would be helpful is if someone can list here the steps needed to reproduce the problem or at least provide a detailed scenario. Once we can reproduce it here, we can log it with the developers and hopefully squash it. Thanks!
@MyDataPal: Can you indicate which features you feel are missing?
@Stephanie: I'm not sure I understand. You can change the paragraph style via the first (left-most) dropdown in the Rich Text editing panel. Each of those styles is pre-defined and cannot be customized, however, you can customize the formatting of your text after you choose the paragraph style.
@All: I will create a feature request for resizing the Rich Text editing panel.
@Chaim Kram this I the user journey how I experience it. Hope it helps.
Hi Magnus et al,
The issue I'm having is I cannot reproduce this at all. I've tried this on two different browsers on different sites under different Wix accounts, but every time I change the formatting of a rich text field in the content manager (data collection environment), the formatting changes hold.
Would it be possible to send us a video screencapture of what you're doing? You can embed the video in your comment or use something like https://www.screencast.com or similar. Thanks!
I have recorded my screen to show the bug. I have tried using my mac, my PC, edge, chrome, firefox - all do the same thing. I cannot edit the formating of any rich text right now. http://www.screencast.com/t/K3Rv1yaWXu3d
Good call !
I hope this issue will fixed at last.
Yeah, please Wix...fix this!!! Especially when you adjust the line spacing. (Because the default spacing is ugly)
What would also be really good is if we could set themes (like on the main editor) so we didn't have to change the formatting on EVERY SINGLE cell.
I also emailed support and this was the response I got:
Hello, and thank you for contacting Wix.
We are looking further in to the issue, and will update you as soon as we have more information.
We thank you in advance for your patience.

@revisechemistry.uk: Thank you for the video and additional information! The video in particular was quite helpful.
I spent some more time trying to isolate the specific bug and I believe I've found it. (It was not easy!) I've escalated the issue to our developers as a high priority and hopefully we'll be able to squash it in the near future.
In essence, the bug arises whenever you have a blank line separating two paragraphs in your text (i.e. two consecutive carriage returns). If you can avoid this, then the bug does not occur.
Unfortunately, if you need blank lines between your paragraphs, the only workaround I've found so far is to manually add at least two spaces to every blank line you have.
I'll try to remember to post an update here once we get this fixed. Thanks everyone for your help and patience!
We tested a item in your collection to see if we were able to recreate the issue of formatting not saving. It appears the issue was caused by previous text formatting. This typically occurs when copying and pasting from an external source.
You can copy and paste text from a Word document or another external source to a text box.
The following instructions remove all text formatting and prevent any issues occurring.
Highlight the relevant text to be copied from the original source.
Press Ctrl+C (Cmd+C on Mac).
In the Editor, double-click the text box, click where you want the text to be pasted and press Ctrl+Shift+V (Cmd+Shift+V on Mac).
If you have already pasted your text into the Editor, try changing the text theme several times, or clicking Reset to Theme to resolve any formatting issues.
for text that was still not doing what it should I copied and pasted it into textpad and copied it back and it worked fine. Not a great fix - but at least it works!I
@Chaim Kram I didn't think the email suggestion I recieved was the answer, so thanks for escalating this!
I hope this gets fixed quick. I know how to do this workaround but I can't expect my clients to do so.
Is there any progress on that issue?
It would also be nice to have an ability to expand the rich text editor!
Yes, that would be nice! No word on a fix.... yet
Bumping thread. Wix Support could not assist.
I have a site that is not retaining rich text format on page nor inside of Wix Sandbox rich text editing field. Me and my client (who is in a different State) are viewing the same results.
Same problem here. Still nothing from Wix in November...
I recently had a similar issue but on the HTML tab of the Rich Text database. Anything you add to the HTML side will not stay if you re-enter the database. I had done all my text in the rich editor, and then add image urls to the HTML side to format images with in the text. After i enter the img urls and exit the database, everything works great. But if i had to enter the database to make any changes, it would dump all the HTML code i put in.
I talked to tech support and they were able to replicate the issue. I was told that "while the database SHOULD be able to do what i was trying to accomplish, it wasn't really designed to do that". I was told to go a far more complicated and labor intensive route that ended with me scrapping the database option all together and just building individual pages for the data. But it seems like the Rich Text Editor and the HTML side of the Rich Text editor are very glitchy and not very stable.
