I need to be able to erase all contents of a collection and start over, or delete it so that others helping me build my site don’t get confused and work from the wrong collection. How can I clear all contents of my primary field in collections? Thank you.

If I understand you correctly, You can edit your content manually in the database’s page.

Thanks for your reply, Roi. Unfortunately, the article you linked did not answer my question. You see, what I want to do is clear the contents of my primary field. The article details how to delete other fields, but not how to clear the primary field. Also, I don’t seem to be able to delete rows using the instructions in the article. I’m using a mac, if that makes a difference.

Can you please paste here a screenshot of the field that you can’t delete.
There is no difference in this case.

Sure. Shown is the collection I want to clear entirely, including the Title field. Deleting it is not an option, and right-clicking to delete rows (which is cumbersome to begin with) does not seem to be possible. I want to clear the Title field because it was populated twice from an imported csv file by mistake, stacking duplicate data that don’t match up with the rest of the columns.

If you wish to delete “Title” field you need to set other field as primary and then you will be able to move it to trash.

Hi Emily,
I see that Roi explained how to delete the primary field. I wanted to add that you can select multiple rows in a collection by holding down the Control key (Command key on a mac) while clicking each row. You can then delete al the selected rows at once.

Thanks for the tip. I see how I can select multiple rows at once. I don’t, however, see how to then delete them. Pressing the Delete key doesn’t work. Neither does right clicking / control clicking. Can you tell me how to delete selected rows on a Mac? Thanks!

Right-click, and then click Delete. Make sure your mouse pointer is in the left bar where the row numbers are, and then you’ll get a menu when you right-click.
