Hi, I got a request from a client who’s looking for a website for booking vehicles for a vacation. The Booking app and Hotel app both have some features that would work, but aren’t ideal. Wix Hotels has verbiage and sections (like how many bath/beds) coded in that would confuse site visitors who are actually booking a car rental, and Bookings doesn’t seem to have the flexibility to have people choose which location they want to pickup/drop off, or to check for availability.

Does anyone have any solutions for this that work well? The client wants to move to Wix from another platform, but based on what I’m seeing I don’t think I can recommend he does so.

Did you find an answer to this Sarah? I am trying to find someone to help code Bookings to adjust for rental cars but can’t find anything in the Corvid forum.

Bookings doesn’t seem to be easily modifiable (or wasn’t at the time, at least). Could build something from scratch but it’s far more indepth than the databases I have created and really not my strongest skillset so unfortunately I had to pass my client to someone else. Sorry to not have a solution to offer!

Hi 3lil3jmi , I would like to built a car rental on wix for one of my client, can you tell me please what did you use ? Wix booking ? or wix hotel ? I’ve just finished this mockup with a plugin from Navotar. Its working brilliantly. The plugin just goes in an iframe.

@iamthejaker hello there Jake , I used a taxi template just for visuals then I edit it to fit my needs , I worte some simple codes

I used a database for car models for car listing

The plugin I used is Navotar - its installed in an iFrame in WiX but the rental system is set up in Navotar. Also I don’t use templates; this is a custom-made site. Also, its still a mock-up for whoever tried to to chat from France! It’s not available yet; still work to do.

To everybody looking for a car rental reservation system: why don´t you incorporate an existing system? In my quest for a hotel reservation system I came across a good app called Booking Automation. It´s mainly geared towards hotels, but it also offers functionality for car rental, suppressing some hotel features (like: no extra charge for more than 2 people). You could run it in an iframe or with a redirect to their booking page (so the URL will be different). Check it out, maybe it works. And no, am NOT affiliated with them.
