For Textile Enthusiasts: Heimtextil

A fascinating intersection between design, technology, art and environmental efforts, textile is quickly becoming one of the most interesting grounds for design discussion and exploration. Traditionally welcoming the new year, Heimtextil is a large scale textile-focused trade fair, which makes a great platform for designers to learn about technology trends that will dominate the field in 2019 (like Epson’s latest developments in textile home-printers). Exploring the concept of “Toward Utopia”, five interactive installations will allow designers to experience how new materials are influencing interior design.

Inspired by the great master, Viola began to further explore themes like expressive use of the body, birth, life and death. While checking out his exhibition on display at The Royal Academy, be sure to venture into two additional exhibitions: Klimt / Schiele and Renzo Piano: The Art of Making Buildings, which will both be on show throughout February.
