While reading a book, listening to music or watching a movie, I often find myself waiting for the climax; the moment at which a piece of work reaches its highest peak – an experience so beautiful that it fills me with emotion. With time, I’ve learned how to become more critical of this expectation, appreciating works that feature this thrilling moment in much more subtle ways, to the point of non-existence.
Imagining a beautiful event devoid of climax bring to mind a pastel-colored sunset: a display that holds no single, specific moment to look out for, as each stage is an event of its own. All and none of the moments are climaxes. The collection of songs below strives to let go of the expectation for a certain spectacle. Each instant offers a high dosage of constant and continuous beauty and interest, from start to finish.
Sit back and enjoy.
