Are you ready to take your online store to the next level? Let’s talk shop:
There’s new options on the [Wix] block: you can now set the payment method that suits your audience and customer-base best. Check out the new players:
Normally, when people think of buying online, they associate the use of a credit card or Paypal, but now you can give your customers the option of paying with cash, checks, bank or wire tranfers. You no longer have to limit your clientele to those with a (working) credit card! You can finalize orders and handle payments on your own time, all while keeping your customers happy.
Who doesn’t love Paypal? A well-known and trusted brand, letting your customers choose to purchase items with their Paypal account is not only convenient, but can also help you build credibility, a hugely important aspect of any strong brand.
This new option isn’t just about increasing your sales by accepting all major credit cards directly on your site, it’s also about letting your customers buy your products from any device. That’s right – even from their mobile phones, your customers can easily and securely make purchases.
How to set payment methods for your online store: Click on your product gallery → Click on ‘Manage Store’ from the small window that pops up → Click on the Payment & Currency tab at the top of the Manage Your Online Store window → Choose your payment methods and fill in the required information
This new feature lets you choose just how you want your products displayed. With four main versions to choose from, you can then fine tune the positioning and layout of your product gallery to your liking to create a unique store – all by simply clicking a few buttons.
How to try it out: From inside the editor, click on your product gallery → From the pop-up, click Settings → Under Choose Layout, click a layout option to select it (this will show how your Product Gallery will be displayed)
Design tip: Keep your products looking clean and enticing by keeping the text that appears next to them minimal.
Mouseover and hover effect is a super popular web design trend right now. And it’s little wonder why: studies show that it improves your site visitor’s experience and can possibly lead to more clicks that will turn into sales. With this feature, all the attention goes directly to your products, not text. Bigger images puts all the emphasis on your items, with less text and less noise.
How to get it: From inside the editor, double click on your product gallery → Under Choose Layout, choose Color Hover eCommerce
Design tip: Utilize the opacity option in the editor so that when your customers are looking at your product description, they can still see the image of the product they’re hovering over.
Everyone appreciates a thank you message, and customers appreciate knowing that their purchase was made successfully even more. This new feature lets you give your customers a warm assurance that their order has been received and their payment made, all the while making you and your business look that much more professional. It’s a complete win-win.
To add and customize a Thank You Page: From inside the editor, click the shopping cart → Click Settings → Click Add a Thank You Page → Edit the page to your liking
Design tip: Keep the message short and sweet while maintaining the voice of your brand.
You can play around with all the aspects and features of an online store within the Wix editor – start now by editing one of our online store templates. Note: in order to accept payments from customers, you’ll need to upgrade to our eCommerce Premium package.
