A Time to Care
Delta Zeta also supports and is committed to research and development for infant screening to detect early hearing loss.. Delta Zeta Sorority works with the National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management (NCHAM) on the Sound Beginnings Program... Our goal is to increase the percentage of hearing impaired children that receive early intervention.
Our national philanthropy is speech and hearing and the Painted Turtle Camp. Delta Zeta also has partnerships with The Starkey Hearing Foundation and Sound Beginnings. We also support the House Ear Institute and Gallaudet University. At ONU, DZ supports these organizations by sponsoring turtle tug and buy-a-woo! Below you will find more information about each organization we support.
The Painted Turtle Camp
The Painted Turtle's mission is to provide a year-round, life-changing environment and authentic camp experience for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses. The Painted Turtle Camp supports the child's imedical needs, and provides care, education and respite for their families. All children and their families attend the camp for free. The Painted Turtle is a member of Paul Newman's Hole in the Wall Camps.
Located in Las Angeles, The House Ear Institute is a non-profit organization devoted to advancing the science of hearing science through research and education to improve overall quality of life.. Delta Zeta supports The House Ear Institute by raising money for their annual Family Day, which is held late in may or early june.

The Starkey Hearing Foundation
The Starkey Hearing Foundation and Delta Zeta began their partnership in 2006. The foundation is organized to promote hearing health awareness and provide hearing care products to needy persons and conduct reasearch in hearing. HEAR NOW is a nonprofit organization that joined the Starkey foundation in 1999 and provides 65,000 children and adults with hearing aides every year.
Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., is the world's only university with undergraduate programs accessible to hearing-impaired students. Delta Zeta supports the university through two scholarships: The Delta Zeta Scholarship Fund and The Fine Arts Endowment Fund.
