Yowie was shot using the Canon 7D, a DSLR still and video camera with excellent low light capability and an all digital workflow.
Yowie is the property of the filmmakers who spent 5 days on location, esentially camping and working to complete the rigorous shooting schedule. The Post production of the film took the better part of 3 months which included some pick-up shoots and time lapse photography and the composition of an original score.
Yowie was shot on location in Murwillumbah, NSW and Brisbane, QLD in cooperation with Griffith Film School.
James and Vivian are forced to discover the strength of their relationship when James shoots and kills a man, mistaking him for a Yowie. Deep in the Australian bush, stalked by a creature of legend, can James and Vivian come together or will they even survive the night.
An Ultra-Low budget independent short film and a graduate project for the Griffith University Film School: Bachelor of Film and Screen Media Production Program. Yowie is aimed for festival release as a student short thriller.
