The Pub was built in 1951 and was originally known as Gus's for approximately ten years. It then became known as The Canon Ball where customers played pool and was typically known as a "biker bar". The building morphed into a more upscale location called The Ancient Mariner's Inn where lodging was available. Since 1987, The Yorktown Pub welcomes all to eat fresh and local seafood, sizzling burgers and more. While you eat, enjoy the scenic view of the most historic beach in America on the York River. We are just minutes from the battlefield where American Independence was won and the point of departure for the surrendered British forces.
