I am a very proud first generation Greek - American. My parents immigrated to the United States after WWII, leaving behind thier war-torn country, to begin a new life and search for thier piece of the "american dream" that was sought by so many in the early 1950's. They left thier small village of Alea, in the north central peleponnese region of Greece, and settled along with their parents, brothers and sisters to raise their families together in Dayton, Ohio. I grew up along side my Papou (grandpa), Yiayia (grandma), Theos (Uncles), Theas (Aunts) and cousins, with lots of family gatherings that always included delicious greek foods, tantalizing desserts, and of course MUSIC and dancing. I can remember sitting off to the side at these parties and and just listening to the wonderful sounds of my culture. By the age of 13, I convinced my dad to bring me home a real bouzouki from Greece. Thankfully, he did, and thus my journey into the world of greek music began. Tsitsanis, Nikolopoulos, Dalaras, Paleologos, Karantini, Stergiou, Tertzis, are some of my favorite Greek artists among many others.
For more than 30 years, (I am really not that old) I have been travelling across the country entertaining and sharing my love of Greek music to audiences Greek and Non-Greek alike. In my career thus far, I have performed over 1000 individual events including; weddings, festivals, dances, baptisms, graduations, anniversaries, night-clubs, concerts, greek-nights, and even back-yard barbecues.
I look forward to sharing my music with you!
George
"I just had to let you know again how much I appreciated you playing at my wedding reception. You and your band were fabulous! And I have received nothing but compliments about how much FUN the party was - this is of course, mainly to due with you and the music."
"Dear George, Your performance and interaction (with all of us at the Springfield Museum of the Arts annual 'Art Ball') was fantastic! You were a huge factor in making the event a huge hit! (There is still a lot of buzz about "how great the band was"!) Thank You!"
"It has always been my dream to get married in Dayton, and for you to play at the reception. Thank you again and again, you made the party, and I have the photos to prove it!"
Thank You!! Everyone had an amazing time and we have had rave reviews! You did an excellent job, and everyone agreed!!!!!
Thanks again.....
Options for an event such as yours:
Option 1 - 3 piece group
Includes 2 bouzouki players with "Full 5 Piece Band" backing tracks AND Professional Club DJ providing non-Greek Music. Also includes concert quality sound system and full 'Master-of-Cerimonies" service.
Option 2 - 5 piece group
Includes FULL 'LIVE' GREEK BAND (2 bouzouki players, keyboards/bass, drums) AND Professional Club DJ providing non-Greek Music. Also includes concert quality sound system and full 'Master-of-Cerimonies" service.
*The first option includes 2 bouzouki players playing along with pre-recorded backing tracks, which produces a full Greek band sound. This option works well for an event/reception only requiring a mix of Greek music (best when you anticipate 50% or less Greek music than American Music).
The second option treats you and your guest to a full 'Live' Greek band. This is also the best option if you require the ultimate in Greek music flexibility (ie; requests for particular songs or extended sets of specific dances).
These Packages are completely customizable. Please call for specific details and pricing.
As an added benefit for wedding engagements, I also include my MUSIC PLANNING WORKSHEET, which is a key tool in insuring a successful event.
