On a recent trip to Honduras, my 13-year-old daughter Megan and I saw personally the impact Rick & Kim have with their various ministries. One of their avenues of outreach is the City Dump. Even though I read the article in the Miami Herald and heard personal testimony from the Beck’s about the dump, the first-hand experience will forever remain etched in my mind and Megan’s. With ragged, torn and dirty clothes, men, women and children ran expectantly towards our vehicle as we drove up. After a brief devotion we handed out plates of food, water and bananas to those gathered. The lesson learned while watching Rick & Kim, along with the volunteers, is that they express a genuine love for these people; it flows from their hearts. Their ministry is Matthew 25:35 in action.

After returning home from my 10th missionary trip in Honduras, I knew in my heart God wasn't finished with me there! Only this time, I knew He wanted my kids, too! Immediately upon my husbands and my return, we began praying with open minds and surrendered hearts for direction. After some unnecessary stress due to weak faith on my part, God miraculously provided everything we needed to send us on our way! Rick and Kim had several ministry opportunities, but God laid on our family's hearts to travel with them to the unreached villages of Montana de la Flor. While the hike up the mountain was very long and strenuous, He gave us strength and energy to make it up to the village we were destined to go. During our stay there, the men were able to train and teach the other men while we ladies had the privilege of leading a Bible school with the local kids. God brought 8 Tolupan people to Himself during this trip, and I am still blown away that He chose to use us in doing that! God showed us such unspeakable beauty and power through this trip. He showed us that He is our Provider, our Strength, and our Redeemer! Our family will forever be affected by experiencing God in such an amazing way!
