Pakistan Stone Development Company (PASDEC) is a public Private Partnership, set up under the Ministry of Industries, production incorporated under section 42 of Companies Ordinance to transform and develop the Marble & Granite Sector. The Board of Directors of Pakistan Stone Development Company is made up of representatives of both the private and public sectors. A majority of Directors are from the private sector, and according to the Articles of Association of the Company, the Chairman must always be from the private sector.

Mission Statement:

Objectives:
The objectives of the projects are:
- Support Dimensional Stone Industry.
- Increasing production of squared blocks
and in-turn
producing better quality products to
compete in
international market.
- Increase the mining productivity and
efficiency
- Minimize the wastage of valuable natural
resources and help reduce environmental
degradation.
- Reduce the mining cost.
- To enhance and facilitate value addition in quarrying
Pakistan Stone Development Company (PASDEC) has established two machinery pools initially, in following areas:
1. Machinery Pool RisalPur (North)
2. Machinery Pool Gaddani (South)
These modern and up to date Machinery pools are operational and helping tremendously to reduce the Mining cost and in turn increase the productivity. The machinery is available on reasonable rates in order to facilitate production and discourage blasting techniques.
Allocation of Machinery on Rent:
1. A transparent criteria is setup for allocation of the machinery
2. Written applications are received for utilization of the machinery.
3. Applications are processed on the basis of consideration of reserves, proximity with cluster, number of days machinery needed, and data on mine owners, available with PASDEC.
Benefits: The Machinery Pool will:
§ help miners to rent out the latest and up to date equipment and machinery, which otherwise they cannot purchase
§ Increase the awareness among the mine owners.
§ Provide machines to the mine owners on subsidized rental rates.
§ Help upgraded Quarries to utilize the machinery pool effectively.
