The Strongest Word is the blog spot for DarryltheWriter, the official blogger for the hip-hop collective Triple Nickels. D has had a hand in the music business for over 20 years as a member of several crews, most notably as an artist in the Philly group The Rowdee Black Giants. Currently, he is a resident of Las Vegas, basking in the neon glow of the Strip and preparing various gems to drop on a hungry public on the daily.
Step by step, inch by inch, I am trying to establish something (or is it “some things”) but I know not what. My thougts feel like random events in need of assemblance. One would think, as I pass the 40 year mark, I would know much more about what lays ahead but it ain’t that easy. My crystal ball stays cloudy. Even when I take a break from shaking it.
I work in publishing, which is a steady port in this economic storm, but I sort of leave that gig every day as I come in. Dazed, but productive.
I have awesome friends, a great family, a music collection that some would call obsessive, and a clarity (I hope) about what is generally the right way to go in my daily life choices. Doesn’t mean I always follow that road but at least I know which way I “should” go most of the time.
Working on getting out a bit more in 2011. I love my child dearly but I need to experience more of what I will be trying to put on her plate in the coming years. Shows, museums, heck, the damn library would be nice every couple of weeks. We’ll see how that all works out.
