ABOUT
Born in Manila, Philippines in 1985, currently in London, United Kingdom.
I started my obsession with photography when I treat myself with Nikon D60 camera about a little over a year. I am a self-taught photographer and I mainly learn from experience.
I am a PhD student in the field of biochemistry. As my daily life entails dealing with a lot of thinking and looking for an answer to the mystery of life, it is really great that I found photography as an outlet to my artistic side and not so much looking for the perfect answer, but capture an image that is open to many interpretations.
This website is mainly focus on the photographs that I have taken and gladly share it to the rest of the world. What is the use of pictures taken if only one person can see it, right?
My real name is Allan Pang. Xerophytes is the pseudonym I used to call myself in the cyberworld. Xerophytes is a scientific term for plants that are able to survive in extreme condition. I really like this name because it reminds me of becoming strong and adaptable despite of harsh environment - that is the real world we are in.
