Well, what can I say? Is there a distinction between who am I and who I am? On a very mundane level I could just describe myself, but how? Am I merely defined by labels, by things that I do?
I act therefore I AM an actor. I write, so I AM a writer. I write poetry so I AM a poet. I teach so I AM a teacher. I take photos so I AM a photographer. I engage with magic, so I AM a magician.
Actor, Writer, Poet, Teacher, Magician. These are just Labels and a label is not the thing it describes. The description is incomplete, inconclusive and inadequate. These labels are not really so useful because these things are only a part of what I do and I see no distinction between them because I am all of these things, and more. Yet also in many ways I am less Although labels are not really useful they serve as a (very) rough guide not so much as to who I am but to what I do. I am not what I do and I would not want to mislead you into thinking I am someone or something that I am not. A paradox.
