Your New Host:
Janice-Marie Johnson
Few bass players have influenced more young, upcoming female bass players (and males, for that matter) than Janice-Marie Johnson. When "Boogie Oogie Oogie" (by "A Taste of Honey") soared to the top of the charts, Janice-Marie's catchy, featured bassline became a bass anthem for musicians and fans everywhere. To this day, it is one of the most recognizable Pop/R&B basslines of all-time.
Countless female musicians have been inspired to pursue their musical dreams once they have seen and heard the electrifying concert performances of this highly gifted artist. Yes... Janice-Marie Johnson proudly exemplifies the fact that women are free to choose ANY musical instrument, just like their male counterparts, because instruments have no gender. The bottom line is that audiences want what this icon has given us for decades: great inspiration... and great music!!
About Us
Ladies Behind the Beat.TV is an internet-based show that highlights amazing female musicians through interviews and close-up snippets of performances. Also, in an effort to artistically inspire children, we showcase community organizations that help to mold today's young musicians into some of tomorrow's brightest stars.
Many of our featured women have worked with gold and platinum artists or, in some cases, are renowned artists themselves. Our host/producer, Janice-Marie Johnson
(a member of "A Taste of Honey"), pioneered and trailblazed her way into music history. Now, she joins forces with producers, Denise Jackson Serrette and Mike Serrette, to keep the dream alive in the hearts and souls of musicians around the globe.
